Kevin, I just want to update that I made the bean burgers for lunch. I didn't have an onion so I substituted with a clove of garlic and some fresh chives from my garden. I served on a Hawaiian bun from my freezer, and also melted some cheese on top. They turned out well! Very excellent and delicious. Funny how they look very much like a real beef burger. Thank you for the recipe. ♥️🍔

The buns look so yummy! I used to have an Oreck upright vacuum, and along with it came a free little canister that worked liked crazy! When we downsized, it was the only vacuum I took along. When we moved across the country, I gave it away and got a Dirt Devil upright that was a pain in the neck, didn't really work very well, and was a misery to clean out. So I recently got another small Oreck, and I'm so happy! You wear it over your shoulder and it's very light. You do have to plug it in, but the cord is so long, I can clean my whole apartment without having to switch plugs! Thank you Kevin, for brightening up the world!
You sir have made my life easier with your helpful and inspirational videos. I bought the vacuum you recommended and I’m so glad I did. I’m 82 years old and find vacuuming stairs with a canister model quite the struggle so I bought the Black and Decker Pet Cordless handheld vacuum and it’s made such a difference. It’s light-weight but powerful enough to get all the pet hair, dirt and debris my dogs bring inside onto the stairs. I’m amazed and ever so thankful to you for bringing this to your viewers attention. Next, I plan on trying the veg burgers and homemade buns which simply sound delicious.

Thanks so much for the burger recipe! I’m not much of a cook, but as a lifelong vegetarian it’s nice to have new homemade things to try. I usually just buy frozen veggie patties, but these look so much better. Those burger buns look amazing too!

Thank you for the bean burger and bun recipes as well as the vacuum recommendation. 🐾 I appreciate your using a damp dish towel to cover bowls for bulk fermentation. Might I suggest investing a few pennies to purchase reusable proofing bags for second rise? They are quite inexpensive through restaurant supply shops. 🍞

I love black bean burgers❤. I'm not much of a meat eater either. Very cool vacuum for that pet hair, ill look for it. The garden looks wonderful. So envious of all of you who live in an area where you can actually have a garden. High mountain desert here, so much soil amendment & precious water needed. The last time I did a full garden, I could have shopped at Whole Foods every day and it would of still cost less😅😅😅

Lovely hamburger buns. The bean "burger" does look hardy. Someone recently made the point we should stop saying mushroom or bean dishes are "meat like". We need to appreciate them for what they are instead. I agree. Your bean patty looks like a great satisfying patty.

If you will use the yogurt setting on your instant pot it proofs easily is 30 minutes saves a ton of time and it’s in a perfect environment!! It’s a win win!!

Hello dear Kevin, I have a burger bun recipe but yours looked much softer. My recipe is good the day of maybe, next day and then turns to bread crumbs. I am going to make it tomorrow or later on and put in the fridge and let rise for tomorrow, maybe using my chic peas and beans as a base instead of meat. I usually do zucchinis or spinach for veggie patties but I can try something new. I eat meat too, so it’s nice to try something different I already have in my fridge.
I will check out your vacuum as I need a portable one for around the house not involving dragging out a bigger tethered one.
You have an effortless garden. Mine is discouraging as its work, and does not allow for easy harvesting. Its a hit or miss on some veggies due to our bad weather. Too much rain is bad and so are droughts.
BTW, I am interested in your lovage. No one sells it here! Its huge.
I planted marigolds in spring and just greens pooped up. No clue what they are but they have no flowers just foliage! this never happened to me before! So my box planters are just green! No marigold first time in 9 years. I used my own seeds from last year. Its the strangest thing. I might pop in some vines and creeping greens into it. Some geraniums. I just hope whatever is growing isn’t a bad plant.

That is the same Black and Decker model I use to suck bugs off my veggies in the garden. (Especially leaf footed bugs) (Without the rotary attachment.) Look forward to trying the bean burger recipe. By the way the soil in your garden is gorgerous.

Unfortunately, beans and many other foods I would love to eat are restricted from my present diet, as they inhibit iron absorption. Just a word to the wise - Iron deficiency anemia is miserable, and takes a long time for recovery. One of the main points of treatment is a diet rich in meat, so if you are restricting meat intake, be sure and have regular blood tests to be sure you're system is absorbing plenty of iron.
