Thanks Amanda for keeping stories like this alive for others to learn from. I remember this quite well. I don't want to reveal what's coming in part 2, but this man joined the military for all the right reasons and exemplified the genuine humility, integrity and loyalty of a true patriot. A true professional. Thank guys for giving all an opportunity to see this.- Hawk
Highest Respect for his commitment. Still an Arizona Icon.
I have seen this before but I felt I needed to watch this again, not only in support of my favorite reactors, but to honor this young man's sacrifice. Won't say more now but will be back for part 2. Thank you BP1 & BP2 and a big shout out and thank you to Amanda A. Peace to All ✌🤗
This man is a legend! Thank you for reacting to him
Great recommendation Amanda! This is an amazing story.
Good documentary.
I’m not a Cardinals fan, but I have an authentic Tillman Jersey hanging in my house. He’s a legend.
Not that there needs to be in another example of how motivated and goal-oriented Pat Tillman was here's a less known statistic about college athletes at Division 1 schools. I work in sports medicine at Division 1 schools. Rule of thumb is for each season that you are a student athlete add 1 year to the time that it takes to get your diploma. And the rule of thumb is it takes 4 years to get a diploma. So the fact that he finished in 3 1/2 years is really saying something.
He could have done anything with his life.
He could have left the Cardinals for more than 3X what he was earning but stayed loyal to his team.
Then decided to do his part after 9/11 an honorable choice.
A hero by anyone's definition unfortunately left his family in the worst possible way.
Mad respectsto all men and women of every generation (not just in the US) who signed a blank check to defend their country.
He's better remembered as a honorable person, but yet a cautionary tale for those, who out of the purest of human instinct want to help, but allow people, not unlike yourself, to rationalize and fetishize war. We all know that nothing in Iraq, Afghanistan, or Vietnam, etc. before was about 'defending' anything American. He was a victim of a mawkish kind of patriotism, and he's treatment by those flag wavers exposed their hypocrisy.
He went to War and died. Couldve just made this a youtube short.
