- In the 1998 NFL Drafted 225 players were taken before Pat Tillman. 3 years later Tillman was an All-Pro safety and set a Cardinals team record with 224 tackles in one season, a record that still stands today.

I just played a high school football game at this guys high school . Leland . There field is called Pat Tillman field and they all wear 40 on there helmets .
I went to Leland with Pat. He was one of my best friends, he didnt stand for bullshit. Period. If anyone was trying to hide anything he didnt feel right about, believe me that he would have been a huge threat. I dont believe it was an accident. Never have. I wish the rest of you couldve had the opportunity to know him, he could always make you smile. Best shoulder to cry on, love him. Sorry he's the strongest, smartest, most driven person I've ever had the honor to grow up with. He loved football, always tore up our home games with superspeed even as short as he was compared to most fb players, especially NFL, still held his own with ease. I'm sure for most of you out there leaving your passion(and millions of dollars) seems illogical or even stupid. But Pat was always choosing the RIGHT path, not the easy one. His family is amazing, his wife Marie, so sweet... They knew he had to do what he felt was right. I hope this sheds some light on the guy that all men should try to pattern their beliefs, patterns, morals, and inner-strength after. The world would be such a better place... 💕
I go to Leland and didn’t even know that, damn
I just learned about Leland High School and Pats Goldfish and my Goldfish were first cousins.
Karlee Judd i actually knew pat and i never heard of your stupid ass. And just because they tried to.cover it up dont mean they killed him on purpose it was friendly fire it happens in every war.
@@karleejudd7683 ,gee Karlee, what a very special relationship you had to him.
What a truely special man Mr Tillman was.
Thanx for sharing that Karlee.
He died in 2004, serving in the army. rip.
415Underdog damn that is sad. at least he stood by his beliefs. if he were still alive i would totally buy him a burger dude
friendly fire too
It wasn't that friendly
415Underdog is this true?
415Underdog everything is ironic :(
And now madden recognizes him and makes him the mut master
Caleb Browning yep I’m already at 95 pat Tillman dudes a beast on madden and real life
Yeah he’s the mut master but they should start them around 80 so even if you don’t grind you can still use him
Caleb Browning he’s great I can’t wait until he can get to 99 overall
Yup 96 on my team
I'm a casual so I never heard of this dude until madden. And this video was just in my recommendations so this is the first ever seeing him. Not gonna lie I didn't know he was a real player until today. Going to look up the wide receiver now too.
Regardless of how you feel about the war this dude gave up fame, millions of dollars, broads etc just to go to some hellhole desert wasteland because he believed it was the right thing to do. That's a real man.
Joe Njoroge You’re just terrible bro
Nothing pretty about getting murdered by your "fellow" troops
@Joe Njoroge You got brainwashed by the atheist Jews.
@JoeNjoroje You are so Damn Disrespectful 🤦
@Vincent Cuttolo Ain't nobody go at Saudi Arabia, where 15 of the 19 hijackers were from. Why?
Hey really should be nominated for the hall of fame for principle alone
No Fly Zone he is dead bud

Titus Faust Walter Payton was alive when he was inducted in the HOF. You can watch his speech on CZcams right now.
Not till the better safety troy is in it
I remember going to Cardinals kids camp when I was young and being so damn excited to meet Jake Plummer. Well, when I finally got through Jake's gigantic line he seemed like he didn't care at all. I was pretty upset, but my dad said, "Hey, let's go over here, you're gonna like this guy, he hits like a truck." Pat had a much shorter line to meet him (like maybe none at all) but when I did he was so kind and awesome and excited. To this day he is the coolest celebrity-type person I've ever met. I got my first jersey that day. White Arizona Cardinals home with Tillman #40 on the back. He graciously signed it of course. Hero.
that's sick!!!!
Very cool!
that jersey is probably worth a lot
That Jersey and your great memory of him are PRICELESS!
i know im late but good for you
Damn, he said fuck special teams, I'm starting
imagine how many players In the draft are never given the chance that could be all time greats
None I'd bet, because if you are gonna be great it'll show and you will get to play and when you get your chance everyone will see.
not true at all
Yeah Right that's false. Malcolm Butler was undrafted and now he has 2 rings
Yeah Right Tony Romo went undrafted and became one of the greatest QBS in history, Cameron wake went undrafted and is now an outstanding DE
Adam Vinateri went undrafted now look at him
15 Years after his death, he has the NFL World talking about him, if only he knows how much of an impact he made, and how big of an inspiration he is to 1000's of Kids. Rest up #40.
@trufiend138 yeah because he has the highest rated madden defensive card.
trufiend138 🤨😐
we still run for him in AZ every year
Why? To die for no good reason?
What a great man Left to early
This guy was a warrior on the football field.
And off
2 Cold Scorpio Yupp my bad💯
Boywonder Dos santos. Both Tillman and Ultimate Warrior in hell.
Boywonder Dos santos shut up
That is an understatement. Ranger Tillman was a WARRIOR! RANGERS Lead the Way... HOOAH!!! 👊👊👊🇺🇸
A man like Pat Tillman goes out via friendly fire in the middle of a desert. Not only do the good die young, but sometimes in the worst of ways. Thank you for your great sacrifice Pat. We’ll never forget you.
This was the guy who got murdered in the military? Dude was one of the best players in the NFL and decided to join up and got killed by his own guys. Not blaming anyone, but fuck that sucks and the fact that the government tried to hide that is even more fucked.
Gladiator Gaming I'd rather stay in nfl. Why go to crappy war in pathetic hot desert. What? To serve the country? Every one here is selfish so i dont buy that fake IM A PATRIOT garbage....
Unsolved Mr E As bad as Americans may seem to you, the rest of the world is worse. A special idea happened with the West and America, and that's worth protecting. Whether the war was legit or not is another story.
But you don't get to call all of America garbage and unworthy of maintenance.
💯💯💯💯
The SavageAtheist
I'm not atheist but from a logical standpoint, I agree with you.
@@OikPoinFive because he thought it was his duty to fight for the freedom that we have. Respect it.
The one true athlete who actually “Sacrificed Everything”.
Just a Man true by all measures *
Just a Man yes he did, hes referring to the nike ad with colin kaepernick. where kaepernick said he gave up everything, he gave up his nfl career to take a knee. when he couldve protested in different ways. he a diva in my eyes. tillman left millions on the table to serve his country. thats someone who gave up everything. sean taylor gave up everything trying to keep his family safe. both gave up everything. but you must of not have understood the original comment
@@pysc0nicc according to his widow, pat would have knelt with Kaep
Just a Man did Sean Taylor want the dude to come in and shoot him?? Pat signed a contract, Taylor was just unfortunate
@Leo Klisten to his wife, she said he would have knelt with kap.
The real story of Pat Tillman will reduce most men to tears even if you're not from America.
real talk, this man was a legend and he will be remembered as one.
Pat Tillman and Sean Taylor are chillin in heaven
My favorite safety’s of all time
God’s safeties
Pat was a non bealever. Your thoughts are nice I guess. But he just simply dead.
@@danny7954 fair point
Yeah they is
Pat Tillman believed in something, and it cost him everything. Be at peace. Bless you.
I love the story of him cutting his teammate from the goalpost as a 7th round rookie...he was a leader in the purest sense of the term
Even with all the comments about his patriotism and his death, and rightly so they should be said, THIS is the part of this clip that made me relook at how I think about Pat Tillman.
The tone setting he did with that one act probably says more about him as a person, politics aside, than anything else. He was a professional. Period. And professionals don't tolerate certain things that hinder success. He showed that and showed why he did what he did both individually and as a team leader. Ronnie Lott would have been proud, I think.
"Not me different guy" whata stud
“Shot in the back by his own troops”
I wouldn't be surprised if poppy Bush and John smackain authorized it
It was three shots to the face not the back
Back in ww2, we shot 300 of our own troops/Canadians too in Alaska...Japanese Left Alaska (2 small islands)...So we were shooting at ghost...
@@johncooper7663 where u get this info from?????
@@johncooper7663 Not participate? Wasn't he fighting alongside his guys tho?? 🤔
Pat Tillman was killed by Friendly Fire in Afghanistan on April 22nd, 2004.
Rest In peace Pat Tillman.
On my birthday
Murdered?
And then the Defense Dept. lied about it, saying it was enemy fire.
Most likely to get people to join the army
Today he: 1. could play linebacker 2. would get flagged for most of those hits
RIP pat tillman. He was a hard worker and made due with what he had. He was on a mission to prove everyone wrong. May he rest in paradise with all of the other legends😭😭😭
“I don’t know what I want to do when I’m 50”
He would have been 43 yesterday. (Nov. 6, 2019)
RIP PAT TILLMAN. ARIZONA WILL ALWAYS MISS YOU AND REMEMBER YOU BROTHER
He defines patriotism, a true legend
He knew that war was a farce and a really bad mistake. He served anyway. He got killed by his own troops
Unfortunately it wasn't put to better use
My favorite moment of him was when he was walking out of the tunnel for the game, and flipped off the cowboys fans that were yelling at him from the stands lol
He accomplished so much in the NFL
Then he joins the Army and becomes a Ranger.
May he dine In the Halls of Valhalla.
Hold the high ground brother.
What a sad loss for his family, football fans, and the nation as a whole.
RIP Pat T.
He is absolutely a legend in my book.
A real hero, that made the ultimate sacrifice.
Greatest Cardinal who fought for our country ❤
RIP Pat Tillman. His killers are still walking around free today rich as ever
Not true it was friendly fire that killed him and the people in the squad that killed him are suffering from ptsd and alcoholism so ya not a great situation
Horrible things happen in a war. Friendly fire is one of them. It sucks but whether it’s bad training, or confusion in the ambush, it happens. I’m sure the guys that accidentally killed him feel terrible to this day. It’s horrible for everyone involved.
This guy was an awesome player and human being. I wish we could have hung out and had a beer. RIP PAT TILLMAN.
I know he only played 4 years but the dude deserves to be a hall of famer
Look at him take down that angry charger lineman. The linemen ripped his helmet off and he proceeds to take down a man that’s got him by 75 pounds like he was a child. Pat was a machine.
A true American hero. I love how he helped a friend out with the goalpost story. Wow what a football player he was steal of the draft
If he lived he could have become a pro bowler. A white Ronnie lot lol
Thank you for your service pat we will never forget you rip 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
This guy was probably the biggest Chad type fella I have ever seen. RIP, pretty unreal he sacrificed his entire career and eventually life for service. Man of commitment
He had it all football talent, physical specimen, pretty wife, contract offers, and a soldier. Stud
Happy Memorial Day Pat thank you for your service
When I grow up I wish I could watch Pat Tillman… he had the courage so many of us wish we had. American hero!
I wish more people knew the circumstances surrounding his death, pretty corrupt shit.
Today he: 1. could play linebacker 2. would get flagged for most of those hits
Shelby Townsend he would be a in the box safety like kam chancellor
do you know what a headass is
He still wouldn't be a linebacker. He'd be a safety that was helping with run support a lot
Just like clay matthews gets flagged for breathing 😂
I love him but he's need another 30lbs of muscle to be a LB. But with Pat I bet he could put that muscle on and prove your point. He would have gone on to be a John Lynch type of safety. Should be in the HOF.
Tillman is an American legend. Left all that $$$ to serve his country in need.
john harris yeah the same country that shot him dead defending poppy fields
Thank you for your service sir. I hope wherever you are I hope it's peaceful ❤️
Pat Tillman was a true hero who I've looked up to since I 1st heard about him. I hope my son does too when he gets older. Wonderful human being!
Who else got recommended this while he’s MUT Master in madden 20?
Looking for this comment
RIP pat Tillman he died from friendly fire he quit to serve his country

When you have set backs keep pushing forward . This Man is inspiring. R.I.P. PAT TILLMAN YOU MAKE ME PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN.
A legend in the desert. You made us so proud Pat. And you still do. Forks Up, Go Cards!
A true American hero. Rest easy Pat!
The cover of the video is the 99 overall image of him in madden 20
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AND SACRIFICE. MANY PRAYERS AND LOVE FROM MY FAMILY AND I.
What a beast! Ultimate Hero
We love you brother! Thank you 🇺🇸🇺🇸
What a man RIP
Such a cool dude. I wish I could be like him
It’s 2021 and I’m back here for the thousandth time just to be reminded on what greatness looks like 🤘
Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything. Thanks Pat Tillman, you are a true hero!
That man could hit hard!!
I may only be 10 but Pat is my hero and no matter how old I get I will always look up to him. That's why my football number is 40
I moved to Arizona about this time. Pat Tillman was all they talked about. And folks became even prouder of him after he enlisted. As a Chicagoan. Whenever I speak about Pat Tillman. It is always with the respect and honor he deserves. I still feel he had so much more to offer our country. #Respect
then they burnt all of his gear in a barrel and tried to cover up the circumstances of his death...
R.I.P. Pat. ASU and AZ Card. AZ legend. DESERT HEAT AZ all day BaBy
I was only 2 years old when Pat died but I still think about him all the time. True hero and his story will never go forgotten.
Being from Arizona and my dad went to ASU at this time Pat Tillman is my favorite player
My favorite player of all time I wore his number in youth football for 6 years
HE'S A HERO
Played against Pat in ‘96 down in Tempe and as a senior all-Conference O-lineman I was pretty damn good at blocking linebackers. Pat was relentless that night and made me look like a fool. Not so much talent as it was his instincts and the size of his heart. It was an honor to play against him. And he still had so much to contribute to the world when he died. RIP #42 Tillman
Great story did he have any sacks picks…etc
He's the reason I quit my job in 2006 and joined. Airborne! ATW!
God Bless Pat Tillman!
And, God blessed US with Pat!
RIP
Pat Tillman hated the US government if you didn’t know that. He was against the wars
America, when you think of kneeling to our flag, think of Pat Tillman
He inspires me now every single day.
Truly an amazing person!!
a true hero on the field of play, and field of battle. probably would kick a teamates ass for kneeling during the national anthem!
Wesley Pearce nah I don't think so he had a lot more common sense than that
LOL Pat was no conservative, that's why shot him
***** right
You realize he became disillusioned with America's wars right?
Kaepernick is doing the right thing, and I support him 100%.
Pat tillman... Take a bow you legend
Legend. Miss you mate.
A real hero !!
if this guy hit sticks me and i fumble one more time i swear
Lol
😂😂😂😂😂
😂
he just hit stick fumbled my 99 barry 🥴
😂 I rage every time
White all pro safety ? Damn
Adam Smith go watch a John Lynch highlight dude
Harrison Smith.
Adam Smith He never made an all-pro team. I know we all love Pat, but why oversell his achievements? I think his life and character speak for themselves, there's no need to make shit up.
Brian Sager He was all pro in 2000 He had 224 tackles in a safe angle season.... what's too make up..
Smooth Criminal nope. Paul Zimmerman named Tillman to his "all-pro" team in a column in 2000. But, you know, he's a single writer. He never made an AP all-pro team. It'd be like if a writer said a player was "in his hall of fame" and we just started calling them a hall of gamer for that.
5:15. The man doesn’t kneel. True hero.
RIP Pat Tillman, an American hero and an all around great person
what a f*cking legend
Turned down 3million dollar contract to join the army
My all-time favorite player. Fearless and disciplined.
great football player and an even better army ranger
God bless his family, a patriot for sure...
“He pissed a lot of people of”
“BOOM!!!”
Miss this guy. God Bless.
Love who this man was and what he stood for! A true American Hero and Role Model!
This mans madden card is insane
OuCH Bxrsts fax he hits like a train
Ong
And now he's the Madden master in madden 20 lol
Lol right he so good on madden
That guy was a hellavu baller and a man willing to follow his heart and his mind toward something greater than just a football player .RIP to Pat Tillman .He died in service to his nation while trying to save the lives of his army ranger brothers.
Salute to service
That moment that he cut down his teammate from the goal post was foreshadowing of his death. That type of principle over dictatorship mentality isn't taken well in today's US government, especially in the military
I thought the same thing. But then I thought, How could a guy that is that good of a teammate get shot by his own guy? Most people would want to take a bullet for a guy like that.
You're an idiot.
OkayNiceOne who?
I’d rather have that guy on my side. He went out there and helped his teammate regardless of what might happen to him. Think what you want about him but who would you want with you? The guys who walked away or the one who came back for you when nobody else would?
K H True but blindly following orders takes no skill, nor does it show heroism. I respect the people that risk their lives for this country, no doubt. But not everyone that serves is a hero. Pat actually had leadership mentality that the military needs. To be honest, I can respect somebody for getting dishonorably discharged for standing up for his principles and morals.
Pat Tillman should've been on the first season of A Football Life.
I mean Terrell Owens before Tillman?
Gimme a break, NFL Films.
shut up bum
jalen dawkins 😂
Affirmative action....
I can see why, TO had just retired, also TO is a top 3 WR HOF. Pat Tillman was a good football player who was more remembered to what happened to him in the army.

Love this guy miss you bro
pat was a legend he put his life on the line what a brave man
Gave up millions to fight for his country. That's a real hero.
He was badass enough that he’d probably have been a solid hockey player.

Forever grateful
Put Tillman in the Hall of Fame!
