  • Let’s take apart this CJRK Pyrite and take a look at this button lock mechanism. I’ve always wondered exactly how it works. Maybe you have too. With plans forming to fully customize this Pyrite, e need to know how it works and how we can make adjustments for customization. Hope this provides a bit of information.
The music, as always, is just #meandmyguitar

Great video, I've been interested in grabbing one of these. Not as much a fan of this style of button lock, same as kizer's. I'm sure it's fine, but I much prefer the civivi approach which is actually a liner lock and the button feeds through to push it aside rather than putting a finger in the blade path. I feel it's a stronger lock than just a plunge style button. Still think I'll get one, hearing such good things about it so far. Thanks for the tear down video, real helpful!

Interesting! I haven’t gotten my hands on a Civivi button lock ( bought my oldest son an elementum as his first bigger knife, but it is a straight liner lock). I will say this pyrite has a ton of blade bounce on the close. Glad it was helpful. Thanks.

That button spring was driving me nuts too when swapping scales. So small and fiddly.

Hah. Yep. Learned to hold it down with the blade now
