I like the Pyrite knives, but two of mine have some pretty bad button stick. I haven’t taken the time to take them apart and try to polish out the button stick, but I suppose I’ll have to do that. Thanks for showing how to disassemble and reassemble these knives.
One of Metal Complex's only complaints was that he believed it wasn't a captive pivot. He will be ecstatic to see he was wrong. Hell, I'm ecstatic to see that D shaped pivot. I've already got 2. I now see a perfect pyrite and a large pyrite in my future. Thank you Nick!
The pivot has the d shape but still isn’t captive. I just took mine apart and the frame doesn’t have the same d shape for it to lock into. So strange, I wonder why they would even add the d shape if they’re not gonna do it on the frame
Hmm. I've taken both mine apart, but don't remember a washer. Looks like I've another thingortude to do in the next couple days(my kickstarter version still has ridiculous button stick, so why not take it apart again? ). Glad to have you back in my algorithm. ✌🏽🤘🏼
i have the cjrb pyrite alt in black and it does have the single washer on the clipside as well. i was also wondering if it was supposed to have this washer, i should have come to your channel first cause nobody else either didnt notice it or whatever. and sure enough you noticed the single washer. well done!! thanks!!!
I've been eying the Pyrate Alt, and I figure this vid of yours should be applicable to that, too. I also have a couple quick questions; firstly being, were you using a plain ol' microfiber cloth to wipe down the blade or was that something different? Alsoooo, while not exactly a question but a request... if you get the Civivi Vision FG, I would love to see a disassembly vid for that, too! 😊
That's weird. I recently got myself a Ti Pyrite and took it apart to anodize. The pivot had two washers so my guess is it should have two washers by default. Makes me wonder if some Pyrites are slipping through QC.
Mine was actually falling apart the pivot would not stay together I let the loctite sit for a day then two days then I just returned it after super glue wouldn’t work.
Is there a video that Nick doesn’t refer to his knife as a “guy”? Whether it’s “little guy right here”. Or “big guy right here”, or simply just “this guy right here” does that video exist?
Being careful about recommending a budget knife makes so much sense. I would hate to green light a product to someone who has little disposable income only to have it be a dud.
LOL dude I was looking around for 20 minutes for a second washer thinking that I had lost one! Glad to hear that there is only one!
Favorite thing about these disassembly vids? Getting a peek at Nick’s watches.
Good disassembly Nick. Thanks.

Thanks for the disassembly video Timon! Also thanks for saving Simba in the lion king
I truly think the Pyrite is an amazing bang for the buck! I haven't beaten mine down and haven't had any issues whatsoever!
Recent fan of your videos and loving every one, especially the terriblity…
Nice! Thank you Nick!

That button lock AND spring Is tricky on reassembly. Thanks Nick!

Looked like an alcohol wipe to me
Mine has the same washer on one side. I took it off and nothing changed. No blade play & still centered.
Strange

Mine had two washers sandwiching the clip side bearing from the factory, ended up putting one on each side against the liners. Odd.
WAIT!! at 8:04 that IS a Batman mask in the reflection of your wedding ring.
I keep hoping they make an AR-RPM 10 from a 10cr :)

Are you sure it went bearing first?
My pyrite blew up when taking it apart I lost a washer and I have no idea how to get another one .
Remember to add “kitchen sink” to disassembly/maintenance tool’s video. 👍.

The pirate
Since they are both inexpesive, is this blade better than a RAT-1?
Definitely more engineering going on in this knife, and probably the edge in material cost as well

Bit dramatic about the button spring.
#ExxonShabazz strikes again 😂
How does a man in a Batman mask get so much dandruff on his disassembly mat?
Give me that knife lol
You throw it in the trash and buy a real knife
I don't like it much either but what can you get these days for $50? I bought mine from a friend, I only paid $40 and I think That was too much. 😳😁
Why is this not a “real knife”?
