He was trying to say that Chevrolet used to need Australian engineers to work stuff out for them. And IT'S TRUE that plenty of GM syuff was designed here. SAME WITH FORDS. After ford realized that engineers in Australia get 3 times the amount of work done in the same hours compared to their American engineers.

GM in the US couldn't do rear wheel drive, the same as they can't do right hand drive to this day. A Holden engineer said they spent $20 million to re-engineer for left hand drive when establishing middle east and US export models, yet GM USA still can't do it. They try to flog Camaros that were converted in Australia for $90k when the eqivilent Mustang goes for $60k.

For fun I checked the license plate. It's actually still alive and well right here in The Netherlands. Besides the annual maintenance however, the car appears to not go to a garage, ever. It's safe to assume the car doesn't get driven a lot.
