- I know it's better to replace the haptic motor but here's a quick fix for a service driver assist warning on newer 13 14 15 GMC Yukon Chevrolet Silverado or Tahoe when the seat stops vibrating and warming lights appear. The harness is known to break on the motor when the seat position is changed often for different drivers.
Thanks for this video. My local dealership wanted $169 to diagnose this issue. I asked them to give me the code. The service writer quoted me a $500 repair to fix it after divulging it's a common complaint.
The way I see it, I owe you a beer!
James Gardner would you happen to know the part # for the 2015 motor?
This worked for me: www.gmpartsdirect.com/oem-parts/gm-actuator-84287377
2015 Suburban . Wires came right off the haptic motor when I tried pulling it out of the seat cushion Thanks so much for the video
This is a great video. I'm getting the problem on my 2016 Sierra. EZ fix thanks to you. I swear GM makes these electronic frills have a short life expectancy so the dealer gets return business.
You are brilliant. Thank you for this mine just started failing.
Thanks Jack, my GMC dealer told me $590, that both motors had to be replaced even though they still vibrate. 2015 Yukon
Thank you VERY much for posting this. It is such a simple repair. It saved me a lot of time discovering the same solution. SUBSCRIBED
What’s the secret to getting the seat cover clips off
I have a 2015 yukon denali my driver side heated seat isn't working my back is working but not the bottom and the cooled seat works fine top and bottom how do i remove the whole botton pad and cushion? thanks
Thanks for this
Dude this video was awesome. My mom never got her Yukon Denali fixed under warranty before I bought it for my gf and I hated seeing this error when I was going after another issue. I was looking at the trouble shooting steps from GM and you’re going to save me a ton of time on this and I’ll finally have the last of the trouble codes gone…hopefully. Anyways I just wanted to say thanks for making this video. It’s to the point and all needed info with no fluff.
I replaced the left side drivers seat motor because the wires were broken. The error message no longer displays on the dash, but the motor doesn’t vibrate. Do I need to erase any codes? Thoughts?
My driver seat has a buzzing noise coming from under any way you can tell me whats wrong
How do I clear the code after I repair it, without one of those scanners?
If you want to replace the motor/actuator on a 2015 GMC Yukon, Yukon XL; 2015 Chevy Tahoe, Suburban; 2015 Cadillac Escalade, use GM part number: 84287377. This replaces the original, and now discontinued, part number: 22884702
What is the TSB #?
He said slide it back in the hole 😂😂
What model scanner are you using? Thx
Rick Palandro autel 906bt
You were able to reach seat clips without removing plastic on the side of the seat?
Ctrnr1995 yes sir. I do them all the time.
Jack Meyers How did you reach the side one? From the front or back?
Ctrnr1995 most of them have the ability to raise the seat up. Raise it as high as it will go and you and get it from the front
service side detection..... guys.. where is this and how do i change it... the dear is asking me 2200 usd and my kidney to get it fixed after spending all fortune on yukon denali 2015
Mine is broken too
Anyone knows the motor part #? Stealership is charging me $179 just to diagnose
Stealership...perfect....lmao
@@stackez yall are morons
For those looking for more detailed instructions on how to perform this job, I found this video: czcams.com/video/-1NdBWqmdW4/video.html to have a little more information about how to remove the side control panels, and how to remove the seat cover itself.
Fix it? I came here to learn how to permanently disable that God Damned thing.
In settings you can change to beep
It's there any way to easily disable that GOD FORSAKEN haptic motor all together? That thing drives me crazy.
I just got in a car with that today and I was shocked, I would NEVER buy a car with that
@@johnxina2465 you can change the settings to beep instead of vibrate but the beeping is actually worse. I'll literally never purchase another Yukon because of this. I hate it.

Lol. I hate repairing them but some of these used car dealers I do work for just refuse to buy any parts.
@@jackmeyers2911 I don't blame them. Like you said, it's not a critical part and not at any real risk of burning up, especially if spliced correctly. If your time costs less than the OEM part, that's the correct choice on their part. In capitalism, the highest virtue is capital.
I still hate capitalism, tho.
Thats not a 13 Tahoe...
How the fuk do the wires just break?
