Third one worked for me!! Thanks a bunch!!!
Worked like a champ (option 1) and it didn't even take 10 minutes. Thanks and have a good one brotha. 👍🏾
Friend, you helped me, I was stuck until I saw your video, I was able to turn it on, thank you very much
This worked, thank you.
Ok so I am sharing this info with anyone who has been having this problem with bypassing the anti-theft system in your GM cars, I have a 06 H3 and have been dealing with this BS for a while! My H3 recently has been back to acting stupid and none of these tips work, they sort of worked at one point but not anymore! Anyhow, I stumbled on this trick recently out of frustration! So if you go to start your car and it won't start, turn the key in the ignition back to off, place your foot on the gas pedal but don't press down, start your car normally and the second it begins to crank but won't start, just tap the gas pedal, just a quick tap! I have been doing this now every time it won't start and it cranks over every time so far! Hope this helps.
THANK YOU IT WORKED! 😊
Fantastic video, right to the point and easy to follow along! After trying the 2 way a couple
Times and failing, the 3rd way worked First try!
AWESOME!!! Thanks for the comment!!
God bless you. The second option works. Took less than 5 min. But had to turn the switch 3 times from off position to start.
Thanks for the comment and the info!!! Glad I could assist
Best video ever the 3rd one helped me instantly 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks Good bless you
Thank you sir you're a lifesaver I owe you a nice cold beer
You are my hero thank you so much
ThNks a Lot it worked the 3rd way!
You are a legend sir!
This happens to my 05 colorado once or twice a year. My mechanic suggested next time locking the truck with the fob, then unlock the driver door with key and try starting it. I haven't tried that yet, but next time. It could be the ignition not recognizing the chip in the key (fluke), so waiting for the system to reset may be necessary.
GRACIAS AMIGO.
The 10 Min is the "Wait Time" for the Pass Lock to Reset itself once you get the flashing lock --- whether you leave the key in the On Position or not, I don't think it matters (I take the key out now) --- be careful with the key in the On Position as the Headlights are On if in Auto Mode and this can run down your battery (that was my "Ah Ha" Moment one morning when it Pass Locked Multiple times on me -- I left key "On" several cycles and low battery -- battery had to sit for 15 mins to gain enuf starting charge to try again) --- so if you choose to just Wait -- it is a set 10 mins from time of flashing (you can set a timer) and then try again whether key is in ignition or not... It may fail again, which would mean ANOTHER 10 min wait... I have a 2007 and I have been having more frequent issues of late - will go check with my dealership to see how much it would be to replace the module -- or I will disable it manually if not reasonable to fix --- but that will be a last resort! I will continue to try the Door Open method but have not had any luck with it yet. :-) Love my 2007 Colorado!
Sat in my truck didn’t start after trying 5 times I watch this video and after trying first method started instantly
thank you I got this on my school bus that I drive and was very concerned about it not starting at all
Thank you brother
Thank you it worked to
Thank you thank you
On my 07 Colorado I would put it in neutral and that also works. Or I would disconnect the ground split connector from the passanger side and connected back again, that also works fine for me.
It works for sure
YOU ARE A GENIUS
Thanks for sharing
My pleasure
Thanks so much
It worked yaaaaayyyyy 😁 thanks
It works thanks boss
I dealt with this, And the first 2 worked for a while, I eventualy had the body control module reprogrammed and it has never happened since. Also stopped throwing a code for a faulty accelerator pedal position sensor.
Excelent
Thanks it helped me 9:09pm
Thax 2 option works 4 me
Does GM have a recall about this or even care? This is a major issue…
Nope no recall, and they are probably are never going to because it is an older model and it doesn’t endanger anyone like if it where air bags. But they definitely need to do something about it because I have gone to mechanic after mechanic and there is just nothing they can do.
Yeah I see a lot of videos on cutting the security wire but… I reaaally don’t wanna do that
Nope. They suck
Thanks for the vid helped out a lot
thanks for the help, you made my day! 🙏🙏🙏
Very nice I had trouble like this beforehand vi unhook my battery it starts up but the light you talking about I waited 15 minutes came back the light went off still no start battery strong then says power reduced
Omg it worked thank you so much😭
Thank you so much!! This was great!!
You're so welcome!
@@kaiprojectsdiy i have an 06 impala ss. sometimes when drive all my gagues will go down and my passlock, airbag and traction lights pop on. i turned my car off but it wouldnt crank back up so i locked it and unlocked it with my aftermarket alarm and the car turned on. weird isnt it? lol
Thank you! The second one worked great and it didn't take a whole 10mins for mine or maybe it did while trying to look for videos! Lol
But it always happens at an inconvenient time
Literally me right now
Me rn
@@adamc5555 I hope it works
Just now have the passlock steady light on 2006 chevy cobalt LT after I replace the Starter, replaced the relay of Starter but nothing.. Its the first I ever experience. I never own a chevy and now Im am.
This happens to me and it’s annoying. I have to wait 10 minutes and sometimes it’s 115 in Phoenix az. Anyway to just remove it all together?
Do you know what would fix the issue thanks
Work thanks
Welcome 👍Glad I could help!
Any ideas on a Chevy equinox 2011? I’m having no luck
my Chevy Malibu 2010 wouldn't turn on because of the passlock light.Replaced the keys, still didn't work. I saw videos on how the key port could be the problem but the problem was actually the battery. It was low on amps it was marking like 12.04 (really low). Replaced the battery, and the car turns on just fine. When the battery goes out it starts lighting up random things
What you have to do is open your door, close it, lock it with the key, unlock it with the key, and open the door and then try turning on the car. Works every time
I have a 2016 Camaro SS and I just programmed a new key fob as a 2nd key which works after programming it...but my anti thetf light is on but not blinking... the car does start but the light is on how can I remove the anti-theft dash light?
Ong thanks I was stranded at a store mine worked with just leaving the key on the on position till turned solid
Glad I could help!!! thanks for watching and commenting!!
Hello. I had such a problem. Chevy impala 2014 did not start intermittently. The ignition clicked, the anti-theft mode turned on. The problem was in attaching the battery ground wire to the car body. The nut was badly tightened from the factory! The connection got very hot and that was the problem. Look for it along the path of the ground wire from the battery.
Jajajaja 😆 I thought it was my gas pump!
Thank you 👊💥🇲🇽
I just had this issue, “Theft Deterrent system”. I used my key fob and lock button on the door. What causes this issue? Is it to prevent someone from stealing your car.
So weird my Chevy Uplander had the light solid said I needed the service the security system but mine fired up no problem and I couldn't figure out how to get that light off until your second solution
10 minutes that is insane would want it to start right away not 10 minutes after
I have the same problem. My is 2006 saturn.ion.the security light turn off after few second but my car I can't start the engine at all. .how can I get this problem fix . Would you help me
Thanks.
How it can be fixed?
Had the same issue with mine. Replaced the ignition and it stopped doing it
Life saver!!! Thank you, do you know what causes that so I can fix it? Maybe a bad starter?
It’s just called the pass-lock. Go to a mechanic and have it tuned out. It’s an absolute pain.
I've done everything on my 1998 chevy s10 nothing freaking works. It's been a year. I cant figure it out. The truck is fing useless. It throws the alarm code so it's the alarm. I'm so fed up.
I’ve had my ignition changed out 3 times. I’m kinda tired of dealt with this cause I’m late to work over it..
I got a 1999 Tahoe and it beeps and flashes front and back lights even with no key in and it won’t crank or no sound it was just running then it stopped
I had that sign but I was driving on a free way. I didn’t understand why that light was on while I was driving
Will this work for ford b2103 code
Question. On my 2019 Chevy blazer, it's in theft Deterrent mode. I have a fob but no switch to turn the car on or off. It's push button. How can I get it out of theft Deterrent mode with no key insert
Also my battery is dead. I tried charging it but it keeps saying theft Deterrent
@@michaelwhitfield609 if its push buttom should be able to tap the start button once without depressing the brake, same as turning key to on position.
Had it happen again to me tonight, 2006 H3, tried everything and nothing worked. I finally disconnected the battery for a few minutes, 3 minutes and then hooked it back up. I let everythign reboot and that worked, I am so sick of fighting with this! I just want to rip out the useles security system, why hasn't GM recalled this problem?! I have a 2012 Silverado with only 80k miles that's in the garage right now getting a new slip traction sensor, it can't decide if it's slippery conditions or not so it's freaking out!! I'm beinging to think GM engineers are fcking with us! I'm looking at buying a 1997 Toyota Celica GT with the 2.2L inline 4cyl, I refuse to buy anymore new vehicles, it's painfully obvious these new Gen engineers are either fcking with us or are paid to do this BS!
Sir you have saved me from Punching a hole in my front winsh
Mines locked but it doesn’t flash. Can’t start it. It’s always solid.
Same here you figure out yours?
@@marlinlonghair7379 yes. I took the key part off cuz it was broken. It has to be attached to the rest of the fob.
Water got into my broken key fob and fried the chip. Car started to lock up, horn beeping and went into anti theft deterrent mode. Was stuck for 2 days. Called out a mobile locksmith who had the keys and fobs on hand and program on site. Took no more than an hour time. Car started right up no problem.
Thank you very must, suggestion 2 worked on my Hummer H3/06, best regards, from a grateful gay from Denmark, Henning.😀😀😀
It helped me out but why does it show that light!? Like does anyone know what that's supposed to mean
My truck wont ding when the passlock is blinking 😂 cant do the third method. The best one for me it’s leaving the key “on” and wait it usually takes about 10 minutes.
Hey I have a question, do you know why my 2007 Colorado has no chime at all?? Like my turn signal or my door chime does not work.
I got this issue too. It’s because the car has aftermarket radio . The chimes only works with the oem radio
I have a 06 Monte Carlo and my key won’t turn all the way to the off position which killed the battery so now I went to start it and now doesn’t do anything I got the theft deterrent system to go off but still nothing even with my charging box plugged up to it any solutions?
I’m having the same issue
You 06 is over fourteen years old and has 122,506 MI. showing. I have seen them with well over 300K and the frame rusted out and is being sold for parts. Make sure you check your frame where the rear shackles are welded to the rear frame that seem to rot out badly for some reason,I covered mine after wire brushing the surface rust away and use miracle paint on them it is thicker than POR 15 and is like a super sealer so moisture cannot absorb into the frame.
U make no sense
@@nosheenzaidi4834 The Frame Has weak spots that have to be sealed to prevent corrosion, like the drugs you take have rotted your pea brain.
Learn how to understand son if u can’t then wtf smh
Nice I have 289,170
I have the same issue. What is the cause and what do i need to replace to solve this issue. Thank you
Did you figure it out.
2008 Chev 2500 P/U. Tried all 3, only number 1 worked. I cut 2 aftermarket keys & this theft deterrent BS started. Then I cut 2 more GM keys & it still leaves me hanging about every 4 months. (Turning off & waiting for 15min is the only thing that resets my system.)
Method 3 seems to work pretty good.. But now the question is why.
Mine's exactly 10 minutes on the way and then it usually cranks but he recently it's been doubling up I got to where I was going out and cranking it 10 minutes earlier and when it didn't crank it didn't put me behind and then it doubled up where I waited 10 and then waited another 10 and it would crank doesn't do it every time but sometimes and then this morning it was three times in a row have you had that problem and also while I was watching the video I decided to push the unlock button on my keypad which lit up my lights and then it crank right away have you tried that I'm going to start trying it to see if it was a fluke or not
Mine to exactly 10 minutes and up to 3 try's 30 minutes is a long time need you need to be somewhere I have to leave it running a lot now
Mine does the same thing where every now and then it won't start and I have to wait 10-15 mins and then it will start right up and I have not been able to find out why it does it
Ive got 2009 Chevy cobalt it just started doing this ,it starts after leaving it few minutes ,
It’s the pass key lockout. Exactly 10 minutes wait.
correct , doesnt matter if you leave the key in or not. 10 mins 0 seconds it will reset.
