  • Today we are testing our solar panel array, Our EG four 3000 Watt off grid inverter and mini split in garage. That is the same as in motorhome to dial in all of our equipment needed to run the mini split the heat and cool motorhome throughout the year. links below for products used in video and other product options.

For your solar rack you could use something similar to express van cargo rack that uses uni strut, it would be an easy fab job for a welding shop to have one custom made out of aluminum or steel. Also in your previous videos you were using MPP Solar all in one chargers, why not use one of those in your RV? I’ve enjoyed your videos by the way, I have learned a lot.keep them coming!!

Thank you so much for your input, I appreciate it. The charge controller is 48 volt, I need change from 48v dc to 120 volt ac. So using the charge controller without an inverter can not work. But the EG4 3000 watt inverter will do both and it is only around $700. Plus the EG4 3000 off grid inverter slows up to 500v dc solar panel input and over 5000 watts of solar panels to max out and get close to 3000 usable watts. Thanks again for the idea, I will check it out. Hope you have a truly wonderful and blessed 2024.

Ladder racks bolted to upper wall frame.Trying to figure out if I’ll need inside backer plates?,with iron ridge rails attached to ladder racks.Panels bolt right to the rails.
I have everything to do this on my rv.Using 3 rails would work for your half size panels.I’ll be using 3 rails for 45x90 inch panels.
I only have two 12v li bats and want 48v system.Hay but I have 3 deep cells hahaha I’ll buy the 2 that I need for 48v.
Is eg4 3k a low frequency inverter? I have HQST 60a charge controller.Looking at a low frequency 4K inverter but almost $1k so I may just buy a multi plus ll for a few more bucks. Then a mini split.Cha-Ching 😊

Thank you for your input. I will look into those suggestions. The 3000 watt EG4 in not low frequency. A low frequency inverter will cost you some big bucks since you have a big coil inside and it weighs a lot. My 6kw Growatt inverter weighs 109 lbs and the 12kw Growatt weighs 186 lbs. I took me a while to buy components, then to combine together and make several systems. They great part about off grid solar is you are not limited when you go to create a system. Many components can be used from different manufacturers. A few years ago, it was a nightmare trying to do that. Every day it seems like new products arrive in the market that are better than just 6 months ago. Off grid DIY solar is one thing a homeowner can do with no or little experience, just watch a few videos on the product you buy and there are videos on how to install product. That was not possible 20 years ago. Utility prices will never drop so might as well make investment now. Prices of all components seem to be dropping for some things but new products are starting to get very expensive and have a lot of bells and whistles. Thanks for your input and hope you have a truly wonderful & extremely blessed 2024
