Hi mehul , i am an open source contributor ,very nicely concluded the summary of open source . one thing which I would like to add is don't contribute to projects just for the sake of getting the job , use it to learn new tech stacks and understand how the source code works and the point which you provided to build network with experienced developers ,,,,,
i cant write in words howw much of a quality content this was, i mean great work , told the whole concept of open source and its logic. 'open source mein contribute kroo, coder ban jaoge' , yeh sab bolre hai but you have explained the why of this. Truly, this was top tier content, thank you so much mehul, great video
As a software dev manager based in the UK who went through a somewhat similar process myself, this is very relatable and really useful advice. Bohat achay!
Hi Mehul, Could you please create a video on how to navigate through a large codebase easily for contribution purposes? When I aim to contribute to an open-source project like Vue or React, my initial step is understanding the existing codebase. It's crucial to understand how things work and how Vue and React manage certain aspects. Therefore, I need guidance on how to navigate the codebase effectively, including which files and folders to start with. Thank you!
Nice , Very helpful & to the point. Thanks. Also a video on Authentication systems (categories, types , modern trends , internal workings ) would be very helpful.
thanks bhaiya, for such useful videos! also can u explain about when we choose a particular topic example le to web dev.where to find good resources, and how to revise particular topics and especially how to make notes, it will be very helpful for me!
Why you need more wasn't thid enough ? It's not like your high school math teacher solving each and every question of book. Here You need to figure out 90% things by yourself.
Is flutter is good for the freshers to start their career please give roadmap for app development and tell native is better choice either cross dev will be better 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Now am your new viewer from yesterday . I like your way to deliver information and opinions 😊.Thanks for giving this helpfull contents and please don't stop uploading videos ❤
As a professional, I always felt contributing to open source is not worth the ROI. One can do so much more which will grow the career faster than contributing to open source. Only do it if you are really passionate. Because honestly, there is enough work which will get you paid and provide growth. Open source work is more like charity, and as a person who is majorly looking for career growth, it may not be a great option either.
Sir merko ek roadmap chahiye open source ka mai abhi BCA first year me hu currently learning MERN Stack and mera interest faang companies me ni hai... mujhe like GitHub campus expert or CNCF ambassador in chizo me jyada intrest hai gsoc vegera me...and like conference mai bolna or remote jobs in sab mai jana hai toh iska koi ek proper roadmap dedijiye
Hello sir, I know a little web dev (HTML, CSS and JS only) and I’m also interested in iOS development with Swift. I’m currently learning both. Can you suggest me which one should I focus more on and which has better career opportunities in India and also outside? (I’m trying to follow your full stack roadmap for web development, and the 100 Days of SwiftUI course by Paul Hudson for iOS).
In terms of practicality I'd suggest you should go with web dev, as there are a thousand times more job opportunites in web dev than compared to iOS. Most mobile apps are made in Android as most people through out the world and especially in India own Android Phones not Apple. Also free learning resources like tutorials & guides are plenty available in web dev than iOS. If you are more intestrested in iOS and have a lot of time for learning then go for iOS dev in Swift, but If you want a job as fast as possible concentrate on frontend web dev.

Depends on Which company you are targeting and what type of company comes in your college??? If it is startups or mid level , then go with Development + little bit knowledge of DSA(basics) , i think so
bhaiya a video on what is monorepo and turborepo would be really helpful and how to approach a project, kinda large project let's say leetcode, how to plan it
Bhaiya , agar hum kuch contribute karte hai open source mai then should we keep that thing in our resume or not? because many people says it kills the actual motto of open source.
Hello sir...can you suggest me a technical skill which will be reliable for next 10 or 15 years and have proper market demand and educational back ground will not matter much. Iam a student from mechanical engineering. I dont want shortcut, I will give enough time to master it .

When a metric becomes a target, it ceases to be a good metric. Having open source contributions is one metric that looks good on a resume to recruiters and improves your chances of getting a job even outside of open source programs like GSoc. Even if you're not seeking to improve your skills, it may end up being the differentiator that gets you the job. Sure, it comes at the cost of wasting a few minutes of someone else's time or polluting a repository with another dummy commit, but it's way too competitive out there. Putting yourself first is ok.

There are many famous open source projects but you did not name it. Why? For example, forefox browser, node.js, Python, php etc.

Okay but you are still talking about making money from open source. Open source is ideology too
English title.
Hindu mixed with bits of English.
Why?
