    Thanks Rob for this comparative video. Last year bought the 009, loved it. However, bought another dive watch and it got more wrist time, so ended up selling the 009. Last month, sold the dive watch and after watching an excellent video by IDGuy re SKX, I decided to jump back into it, this time getting the 013.
    Proportionally, for me (6.25" wrist) the 013 works a bit better. I also like the 20mm lug width as I am able to use existing straps, and I also like that the second hand has the lume on the front section. Both versions are equally great. 👍⌚

    Bought an SKX007 a week or so ago, finally had the time to get it fitted and I love it. Fits great on my wrist (varies for everyone though). I would however suggest looking in store or wherever you can view one because when I was first looking I thought it would be way too big; before you make your choice just off specs and numbers try one on, it will be worth the hassle and time

    One of my dream divers is the SBCM023. An SKX case at 1mm wider and 1mm thinner than the skx013, with an 8F high accuracy perpetual calendar quartz with an 8-10 year battery.
    Sadly, it is long discontinued and hard to find mint these days.

    Definitely in for confirmation on whether or not that’s an Alpinist bracelet on the 013 or not. If so, that means the Ginault Ocean Rover adjustable bracelet should fit the 013. That would be an incredible combo.

  • @dustinr16

    Just bought an SKX013. Decided it was better sized for my 6.5” wrist than the 007/009. I also prefer the arrow second hand over the tail lollipop. Photos do not do this watch justice. After wearing it for a few days I fell in love with it. The size is perfect. When I wear my 40-44mm watches now I really feel how needlessly oversized and clunky they are (at least for my small wrists). It’s much better looking in person. Too bad it doesn’t have a 4R36 with hacking/hand-winding which is why I held of buying one for a few years. Otherwise I love this piece. I own all the forum favourites (Monster, NY0040, SARB035, mini-Turtle, etc.) and I think it’s my new favourite (OK I still love my Seiko Monster).

    I want an SKX so much, but am afraid to get one. Every review I see is someone saying it’s a great watch, but then points out all the flaws as if they are horrible. I think when I decide to get one, it’s going to be the 011 or, if I can find one, the A35! Those are the two I want!

      I bought mine in mall a bit pricey thought just make sure you check some scratches before you buy it and the run of the movement, chapter ring alignment issue is the signature of the real genuine skx, skx009 is beautiful as it gets older when the bezel insert fades you gotta put a khaki 5 ring zulu strap, all family of skx is great though but just make sure you have a visual check when buying a watch from a physical stores, it's pricey but totally worth it

      I own an skx171 from the early 2000s and an 009 from a couple of years ago. For what you pay for them they are great watches. Im not a fan boy. They could def be better but they are that sort of 90s style that is pretty classic and doesn't date. They look good on bracelets and straps and last a long time. I don't think you'd really regret buying one. You could always re-sell it if you did 👍 good luck mate.

    Gotta be honest. I fell into the SKX trap. I barely even wear it anymore. I know it’s a 200ish dollar watch but damn the movement in mine is horrendously horrible. Mine gains 7 minutes a day. A DAY!!! I have a first gen Orient Ray that I picked up for 100 bucks 5 years ago that is a few seconds. And I’m sorry but ISO is a scam. It’s just something fancy to put on your paperwork in all industries, not just this watch. There are products that aren’t ISO certified that surpass their specs.

    • @Harvind89
      @Harvind89 Před 5 lety +2

    • @samuelball8775
      @samuelball8775 Před 5 lety +4

      Dude your watch is faulty. Not really a comparison. As another commentor said its likely magnitised. I own an SKX171 and it sat on my wrist for 11 years straight (before i got into watches). Never missed a beat and never had an issue. It now needs a service but hey thats more than fair.
      As for ISO being a scam... I suggest you go to longislandwatch channel and review some of his watch and learn videos where he actually tests the watch to the standards and its quite interesting.

      My skx013 keeps very good time but my goodness it has some alignment issues. I also own an srp777 that gains about 1 sec a day but again, disgraceful alignment issues. Own a skx009 that loses about 10 secs a day but is perfectly aligned. You cant seem to get it all in these watches, apart from my padi turtle, perfect time keeping perfect alignment... some minor scratching on inside of crystal WTF
