And this is why I have a one in one out thing going on. I got to 15 watches about 5 years ago and I was in danger of keeping on going. Out of the 15 I had there was only 6 I genuinely could not bring myself to part with so I kept those and sold the rest. So 6 became my magic number that got created by that cut back. 5 years later I've had a few changes but still only have 6 and have never gone above that number. I sell before I buy, not after or else you know what happens. For me that gives me better focus and ensures everything I have I love and wear. We are all different but that works for me. When I see a collection this big I'm impressed but owning it would stress me out and completely overshadow any fun.
That's EXACTLY what I'm doing right now. I'm just deciding between an automatic and a quartz/solar but to be fair, I even stopped caring about the differences :) Years of obsessing over movements have lead to that.
I’m with you I’ve now reached a point where I just as content wearing an homage as I am wearing one of my Grand Seikos or Tudor or omega the kind of value you can find in watches now is unbelievable far from when I first started collecting getting a nicely finished watch with screw links ceramic sapphire and solid SS case and bracelet with a reliable seiko or miyota for as little as $50 or $100 is crazy I have seiko divers that cost 20 times that much and don’t offer all those specs watch collecting is a beautiful thing when you can wear your watches with equal pleasure
I always love seeing other people's collections. Especially when they have way more watches than I do. It makes me feel better about myself, that I'm not that out of control after all. There are other people that have way more watches than I do. Nice collection by the way. You know, I don't own one G-Shock.
Me: "I like a watch but I already have a black dial stainless steel diver so maybe I should check some variation like super compressor but only if it's dial is non-black as I have one already" Random Bob: o r a n g e
Most of the comments: "Thanks for having a REALLY bad addiction, it makes me feel better about my (still an) addiction." Wild man. Can't imagine you have any kind of real relationship with most of those pieces, but different strokes for different folks. Orange 8 days a week!
I had problems also about owning things... Now I know that it's not because you love something that you need to own it. You can appreciate something but still decide to not buy it. The fact you love it won't dissapear. And you can't own everything otherwhise you will need 50 mansions to stock it all. I apply this philospohy now on everything: my watches, my clothes and so on. I also clean my pictures in my phone. I had like 2000 pitcures and now i have 600, it's decent. If I hesitate between keeping or not keeping something, I ask myself; "Do I use it?" "Will my life be different if I keep this thing?" The answer will almost always be no. Yes, make a big clean up in your collection; I would keep like 10 watches if I was you. See it as an exercice to stop accumulating; you will be reliefed after that and you will appreciate your 10 watches way more :)
I like this dude and his reviews but this? This is the definition of chaos - way too much going on here - everyone’s collecting habits are different and while there’s no hard fast rules as such I do like a certain coherence in a collection - struggling to see any here - now I have a headache
Ιn that first shot with the watches on the wall, you literally didn't have 2 watches that tell the same time haha I love it, it's a beautiful collection, but it did give me some anxiety LOL
My question is how many of these watches were bought with your own money. I know having a watch channel a certain percentage of watches are comped by the manufacturers for review purposes. Not judging either way I’m just curious. Just wanna compare my addiction lol
I would say it’s nearly 50/50 these days .many are actually gifts from friends though and not from brands. I still do buy at full retail many watches even though I could lean on a discount. I tend to enjoy the watch more if I don’t ask for that discount and just buy it
You are hoarding watches. It's like when the pickers go to a house and it's filled with die cast cars. Free yourself and sell what's not needed for your business.
seriously. i practice the FIVE Ws: one for work, one for weekends, one for weddings, one for water, one for weeding. the first three are high-end keepers. the latter two are micros and beaters that rotate in an out. Outside of these specific roles, a watch just ends up in a drawer and is better off cluttering somebody else's life.
Thank you for sharing, Rob. Question: I also have a large collection but keep all my watches in their original boxes which takes a huge amount of space and makes getting to the watches a pain, what do you do with the boxes?
Im a Timex guy rather than Casio but i do own several Casios (no G-shock). Counting my 25+ Timex watches i think I'm over 160 for total collection from all around USA and the world. I maybe wear half but that's a stretch 😬. But i consider them like art and have moat displayed in nice boxes, etc. So it works for me .
I can honestly say that I personally, "dabble," in collecting watches. I have most of the military style watches that I like, Hamilton, Marathon, Seiko, CWC and G-Shock. As for collecting knives, your table wouldn't be big enough to show my whole collection. That's just knives, I'm not going to include my larger tomahawks, swords, and machetes. 😂
I once thought I drank a lot of whiskey until I met a man that could drink four times the amount and that justified my drinking
Sometimes I feel like a squirrel collecting nuts based on detailed criteria that only other squirrels understand
Wow. I get uncomfortable at ten! Great array Rob and thanks for being one of my main inspirations for starting my of own channel 😊
A great channel Johns Watch Joint.

That's what's nice about us collectors, no matter how many watches we have we still get to wear em all.

Like eavesdropping on someone’s therapy session. I feel better already. 😮
This amount of orange really hurt my eyes...... :)

That Larry C custom build Seiko in silver is pretty cool.
Cool collection! Personally, I would go with 5-7 high end pieces instead. You definitely spent enough money to do that lol.

I limit myself to 12 (6 in my bedside leather case and 6 in my wooden case on the vanity in my bathroom). I get stressed past 12.

excellent. It shows you own your things, they don't own you.
Ridiculous
He should change his name to Ridiculous Rob
I think you are going to rebuy the white dial SMP.
This is crazy. Flat out crazy. I would sell literally all of these and buy 3 or 4 really nice pieces.
Wow I expected some more mid high end stuff too like the zodiacs, interesting to see what you keep vs review
Glorious lume shot finale
I had the yellow Vostok. I got to Russian watches, or Soviet rather, around 2021 lol. Been getting rid of them ever since.

Didn't know you had a Seiko black monster, always liked that watch. Not as much as the orange.
You've got no excuse to be late for anything Rob!
Seiko 5 orange double hurricane with black stripe is a special edition, not limited.
No orange beats the Seiko orange. Vintage, and based on this video, new.
Can't wait to see what you get next!
I try to live and judge no man but Jesus Christ man
Totally sctizo collection - love it.
A wise man said to me sell all your watches and with the proceeds get the best black dialled diver and call it a day from the madness 😅
That’s what I did, I went Explorer though, don’t like dive watches much. I never found the size/weight worth the bezel I never used lol
I asked a buddy "how many watches does one guy need"? His wife answered from another room "Just ONE more!" :)
Those are just so beautiful!
Ιn that first shot with the watches on the wall, you literally didn't have 2 watches that tell the same time haha
I love it, it's a beautiful collection, but it did give me some anxiety LOL
And here I thought I was the only watch collector with an orange obsession.
Gorgeous collection 😍

I like these three pieces: Vulcain, orange Seiko and Evant. At first I thought that you have Piaget Polo in that top right corner on the wall.
Man you have nice watches. Do you have any cartier or vintage watches? You should do some vintage watch reviews

Crazy! Love it! Sooo much orange. 😂
Imo,you should sell 90% of the watches.Just keep the 2nd gen. orange Monster
Wny do they all show diffrent times?
Thank you for sharing, Rob.

I remember when you had way more Monsters! SKX is simply the highlight. When is the sell off?
Already in progress via discord. Main channel sale soon
hoarding vs collecting
Huh, I didn´t know the Longines Big Eye in titanium was gone from your collection.
That white Port Jeff! I want that one!! or that SWC Ark!!
This is a SOTH. State of the hoarding.
Been trying to get the name of the orange diver at 3:21 (after the orange seiko gmt) but can´t make out the brand. Can anyone tell me what it is?
really awesome collection
A lot of orange dive watches. I don't own an orange dive watch. Now, I need to go shopping..... 😄

Wow!!! What a collection! And you've got some great tastes there. I do note that you have a bit of a fetish for Orange - not a bad thing at all!
I have that red Vostok but it conked out on me and one of the lume pips is rattling around inside the case.
The all grey watch. I must have one.
Are selling the Vostok Komandirskie 650840 with the red dial?
Can you do a video on the Freestyle battery change, I heard they take multiple batteries
RR - tell me about that green faced Bulova. I might be interested in buying.
I was just working with one of those quartz chrono islanders!
Dibs on the Nodus Canyon.
One of the most mundane collections I’ve seen
It is eclectic.
I think you need another casio world timer. Do they make it in orange?
Lot of oranges
Which is your #1 favorite?
What happened to your Bulova Marine Star orange dial?
Rob are you acoustic
More like borderline hoarding than a collection
I just love it, but I’m not sure if my wife would see this as an encouragement or a warning if I showed this to her 😝
Speaking of selling..I’m in the market for a Nodus Canyon
Well this one is up for grabs
@@RandomRobReviews I sent an email about it
How do you like the Piaget Polo ??
Where do I get the skx rubber strap with end link?
Clockwork Republic
Lots of orange love it
Please let me know if/ when you sell the white Raven watch?
I'm sensing a theme...
Absolutely breathtaking. Love the dominant orange hue!
MRG 5000 for the win!
I don't have a problem I don't have a problem I don't have a problem................ wait I think I do :)
And my wife thinks I'm nuts for having 36 watches that I also wear.
You have all the watches so I don't have to. 😂
The lume is the best.
no more high end pieces i see.
Still got the radia trinity yellow?
It’s out on tour
You have a lot of watch brand that i never heard or seen before
Can you tell me about the strap on the ugly duckling build watch? Been looking for that exact color for my Axios Ironclad but striking out
Clockwork republic
Nice 👍
And I thought I had a mess with over eighty watches. O_o 🕐⚙️🍸
I'd be interested in your NASA G shock 😊
should be called SOTS. I will let folks guess.
I'm sure Todd has more positive qualities than just being wealthy. 😉
Oh he does, but it’s an inside joke.
I smell a Rolex in your future.
Nah he tried it a couple years ago.
I think you need more orange watches
That orange notice canyon is really nice. They should make more of those
Was thinking the same thing
I have 12 watches and my wife thinks i am crazy.
She is right we all are
Ever thought of doing a kids watch vid ROB good 100m ex baby g hard to find.
What happened to the Doxa Army?
man, you really like the color orange. :)
How many watches?. -Yes watches.
Way too many watches. I'm glad I only have 5.
I smell an Omega Seamaster 300 with a white dial!
I see oranges are in season.
