I remember watching a police chase live on the news. At one point, the chopper lost track of him for a minute or two. At another point, the suspect crashed his vehicle. He got out, ran to a vehicle that happened to be filling up, stole it, and the chase continued. One officer was just feet behind him when that happened, but didn’t quite catch him. He later drove the stolen vehicle up a railway! Shortly after that, I think a tire blew out, and he had to abandon the vehicle. He ran into a grove of bushes and/or trees (I don’t remember which) and the chopper lost sight of him. He was captured there, out of view of the camera. To this day, that’s still the most fun I’ve ever had watching the news.
The cowboy got charge for animal abuse, as he failed to get horseshoes for the horse before forcing him to gallop down the expressway. The horse was so badly injured that initially vets thought he would have to be euthanized, but he survived and went to live in a horse sanctuary. The idiot "cowboy". who has never seen a cow in his life had no concern at all for the welfare of the horse, it was crazy hot that day as well.
Reminds me of a business meeting i had in denmark once. My boss and i got picked up by our business partner and took on the autobahn. While we were discussing server cooling systems, i noticed that we were driving 240km/h.. it was a limousine from Audi. The speed was not noticable, a very comfortable, and short, ride to the border, where we had to go on slower
I remember this when it happened and as an experienced armor troop, If he had not tried that maneuver or combat locked that track, nothing short of another tank would stop it, but the driver was not trained well or he would have been buttoned up, just let the M-60 go it would run out of fuel soon enough.
I remember when Shawn Nelson stole that M-60 and went on a spree in LA. They said a heroic officer cut his way into the hatch with a pair of bolt-cutters. LOL at the BS. Anyone who knows tanks knows that the driver simply didn't secure the top hatch.
I remember when that happened with the tank, i lived in San Diego and watched the whole thing live on the news. I didn't think they had to kill the operator though. He was a distraught veteran. It was a sad day all together.
Sure you braindead. Let's just leave the criminal to potentially take hostages, do more damage and potentially start killing, rather than tail him and apprehend the suspect as soon as possible. Brilliant 😂🤓👌
Years ago, a tank was being transferred from Atlantic City to the Hammonton National Guard depot. The transport vehicle broke so the driver decided to just drive the tank to the depot . He made it about 10 miles along rt30 before the darn police stopped. Him. Good try though.
That's not a mini-tank. It's a Light Armored Command Post. M-577 by designation. It's driven by sticks and visibility sucks. That's why there's a TC (tank commander) hatch so someone can communicate instructions through the com for the driver. It's top speed is roughly the same as that of the Geely Panda Mini EV. Maneuverability was great though and I'd have to say that it was the most fun I've had driving anything. I'm so glad that my squad leader didn't give the job to a more ranking member of our team. Fire Direction Command (FDC) 13E. Best decision I made switching from being the Army's version of AT&T to calculating and calling fire missions from 17 miles away.
That was cool. I noticed that earlier in this video that the question was asked about the slowest speed chase. Back in the 1990's there was an old lady who stole money in Florida and her get away ride was a three wheel adult bicycle. She took the money because at that time Congress was threatening to cut Social Security so she instantly became a folk hero.
Best getaway vehicle is something with a huge fuel tank as you don't need to drive flat out only fast enough to stop them trying to pit maneuver you and thell run out of fuel before you.
0:08)The M60A1 tank gets 0.6 miles to the gallon. The tank lost a track and was stuck. With a missing track, the tank would go in circles. All the police had to do was wait for him to start baking in the heat. Instead they killed him. 1:24) I believe that there are slower police chases. There was a "Police Videos" show. A DUI was all over the road and lawns driving a garden tractor. One LA fool's crash was used in a few movies. He went straight ahead on a left curve. The car went flying and crashed on a road below. He tried to flee on foot. 4:58)Not a tank. A M577A3 Command Post. 7:12)More than PD 1 car was stolen. 1 or 2 by the prisoner sitting in the back seat. The wildest was 2 cops pulled over a DUI. They got a call to a nearby place. The drunk was told to stay before they left on foot. They came back. No patrol car.The car was found in the man's garage with the lights still flashing.
hahaha!! @6:23 "rather than delay the inevitable, he sped off" LOL Did you perhaps mean: "rather than accept the inevitable, he decided to attempt to delay it, and sped off"?😂
Imagine if there was a CZcams channel that posted really interesting videos in which the content in the THUMBNAIL was actually IN the video. How amazing would that be? One can only dream though.
sometimes when these chases end it really goes bad for the driver. especially if they injured another cop along the way. it really is not a good idea to run from the cops because these days cameras are everywhere and cops have good air support. unless you are in a car that can outrun a copter and you have the room to gun it you will likely be caught in the end.
Chases involving police cars pursuing military vehicles, such as tanks, are highly unusual and potentially dangerous situations. While I don't have access to specific real-time or recent events beyond my knowledge cutoff date in September 2021, I can provide some general information. In instances where police cars chase military vehicles like tanks, it typically involves unauthorized individuals taking control of such vehicles, often resulting in high-speed chases and significant public safety concerns. These situations can be dangerous not only for law enforcement officers involved but also for civilians in the area. If you're interested in watching videos or reading about unusual police chases caught on camera, you might find various compilations and news articles online that document such events. However, please keep in mind that these situations are exceptions rather than the norm, and they often pose significant risks to public safety. Law enforcement agencies are trained to handle high-speed pursuits safely, but when it comes to military vehicles like tanks, the circumstances become even more challenging.
I lived in San Diego during the incident with the tank. After this incident all but one tank was moved to a different facility. The tank that remained had its engine removed and placed in front of the armory.
Instead of moving the tanks, the base could have required the fuel tanks to be emptied of all but a 1/2 gallon or less, leaving enough to get to the fuel depot and not enough to go more than a short distance. Imagine a tank chase that could be measured in double digit FEET. Keep the tanks far enough back from the gate that the 1/3 gallon of fuel would have left them stranded on base.
