I bet seeing/holding that thing brought back so many memories for him.
Gotta love how much passion Mark has for Luke.
I really like how he immediately aims at his face like he did in "A New Hope" lol. Yes, its not real. Still hilarious.
I think geek talking with Mark Hamil, might probably be the coolest thing in the World.
"There is good in him, I can sense it" 💙
I'm surprised that Hamill wasn't able to keep his lightsaber after the movie
I like how the guy was trying to give Mark Hamill a history lesson of his saber. He was in the movie dude, I think he knows the history.
The cannon reaction to luke seeing his old lightsaber
Me, an old fart who saw A NEW HOPE in a theatre back in '77: "You will need this for the Yuuzhan Vong invasion".
Disney:
You didn't see a movie called A New Hope in 1977, you saw a movie that was just called Star Wars.
They changed the title later when they decided to milk more money out of it with haphazard ideas like blowing up another Death Star and everyone being family even if they've been kissing on the mouth
@@customsongmakersounds like how most movies with sequels and beyond develope, minus the additions to the name.
woah
Pretty cool 🤷♂️
I love how they both know, as we all do here, about the truth,
but still play along, claiming it was only a "movie" and some "props" and "special effects".
Genuine Jedi trick. Weren't I myself half-Toydarian, I might have felt for it.
When a Jedi Master rediscovers his roots, as his admirer slowly becomes the Padawan out of pure admiration for the Jedi Master.
This was the story we were missing in the films.
what a putz
He's so passionate about Star Wars and they went and ruined his character
Define "ruined."
@@blam320 they trashed the basis of what his character was built on and believed in. Ruined.
I know it's fantasy, but can you imagine the guts it would take to willingly face Vader?@@ElixirOfEuphoria
@@blam320 Episode 4 is called "A New Hope". Luke was the carrier of that hope. He was meant to never give up and to go on to fight evil. And he did.
And in the bad movies they took that energy from him.
was fully waiting to hear him say "I DON'T REMEMBER OWNING ANY LIGHT SABER!" 😂🤣😂😂😂😛
Mark Hamill is such a cool dude.May the force be with you man
His only claim to fame and he has been holding on to his one acting roll for decades.
Yes, i'm sure being famous for voicing The Joker also isn't a thing.
Mark is a terrible actor
I love the idea that they had battery packs on them. It reminds me of the lore of the oldest light sabers.
0:15 I was expecting Mark Hamill to point the lightsaber in his face like how Luke did in A New Hope 😂
It would have worked if it was that prop but this ain’t that since like what that guy said it was used by Alec Guinness in the first movie before being reused as Mark’s in Return of the Jedi and isn’t Anakins from the first 2 movies
1small thing I like about this, was when the interviewer started to tell his trivia and Mark started elaborating, the interviewer let him finish. Because he was telling trivia about a movie to the actor of it's main character. It feels like good etiquette to let Mark take over like that. After all, he was there.
Mark Hammil's reaction was like mine when I found an old toy in a box in my closet that I had forgotten about for years.
I do love that in universe, in old lore, one of the prototypes for the lightsaber is that cable leading to the battery pack and much combat focused on it.
"Do not cite the deep magic to me witch. I was there when it was written"
Mark Hamill getting excited about the old movies is so genuinely warming
Hearing the metallic clicks and clacks from the hilt was really satisfying. I could imagine the weight of it.
Star Wars is still alive in Mark Hamill. Legend
Mark is so awesome! Always been my favourite 😎I love his voice, it’s the best ✨
That’s so cool hearing that story over and over again.
mark hamill looks pretty good these days. looks more like hes 55 than 71. aging like fine wine
Somehow, this reaction to seeing his old saber feels more in character than the one we got in the actual movies...
Man, I'd be afraid to even touch that. That thing is a holy relic of film
They had to dub the "this is pretty cool" line in, Marks mouth isnt even moving lmfaooo
This is the sort of thing we should have gotten in the movies.
Dispite all the issues in recent years with both Mark Hamill & with Star Wars. It's still brings a smile to my face hearing the guy geek out over something so iconic.
He's like Al Bundy holding on too the glory of the one thing he did 30 years ago
"I haven't seen this thing in years"
I half expected him to toss it over his shoulder lmao
The amount of self control it had to take when Mark says " ....So that's a replica...." and satisfaction when he goes " No.... it's not a replica"
The moment he picked it up it looked like he was going to stare down the barrel again.
Old habits die hard.
Oh my god.
The legends back pack light sabers on based on real life Og props. That’s freakin cool.
0:39
Mark: ... because is reflects the life source back...
Now, that's some Force stuff that I've never heard about.
This needs to be longer
So respectful of him to wait for a queue before talking.
I need the confidence of the person who tries to explain to Mark Hamill that there was a really cool story about the making of Star wars
Guy starts the story... Luke finishes it.
Does anyone have a link to the full video? I'd be grateful!
"I felt a great elation in the Force... It was as if millions of fans cried out in joy and were suddenly satiated."
Three to two odds Hamill was ready to pull out his checkbook RIGHT THERE to get it back.
"It's not a replica!?"
*Ignites lightsaber and slices right hand off*
Mark: "I haven't seen this in years!"
Proceeds to point it directly at his face.
Again.
