I think Alan Davies would make a superb 12th Doctor, or 13th Doctor, wherever that goes. He just has that Doctorish spark which I think would be awesome when playing the Doctor. What say you?
Can't it be both? They do go together so nicely. "Oh sh**, I feel too drunk/stoned and I've gotta do that show. I'll take a hit/shot, that'll even me out." The reason I'd guess drunk over high though is that he's so wobbly. I've never seen people who are just stoned losing their balance so much, let alone slurring. But drunk or stoned, he's still hilarious. It takes a special kind of person to be that obviously out of their mind and still be so endearing.

As a non-British native, I absolutely love Alan on QI but his stand up acts completely go over my head. Its very interesting and annoying at the same time. He is extremely adorable which is not an attribute you would attach to stand up comics.
