2 Corinthians 4:16-18 is a fantastic verse for suffering for the glory of Christ.

One of my favorite verses about suffering is "Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope." Romans 5:3-4

As a fighter of stage 4 pancreatic cancer, I consider myself as having faced a sentence of death and a certain despair of life; this verse is what I hold on to daily to remind myself to rely on God alone and not on modern chemotherapy or any other means of palliative care. Faith, it seems, for some, can mean so much different when one's life is at stake.. even if healing doesnt come and my dreams left undone, you are good you are God forever faithful one. Thank you Lord.

Hi, do a research on Graviola, it is a fruit and it has healled some people with cancer, as far as I know, it can heal 12 different kinds of cancer. you have to make tea with the leaves and drink it instead of water, but drink a lot of it at least 40 litters. you can find the tree in Florida and Brazil as well. Glod Bless you.

That was a great explanation why God sometimes allows suffering. So, when suffering, we need to find, what purpose it is, and rely on God, who raises the dead, to raise us up and bring us out.

Pastor John, I have been through so many suffering, that I felt like I was going to die. I felt hopeless and useless and like I was nothing I felt like I didn't belong and felt discouraged about life. I just want to thank you for really helping me get through these tough situations. Because your teachings are so good I just wanted to ask, if you can help me get through more things that I have questions about.

Jaleen Cadena I have been there as well. I praise God for John Piper. Rely on God each day. His Love and Mercy is enough for today. This is the one thing that helps me make it Day by day.

    I have a question:
Say someone is under this suffering to awaken or increase reliance/hope in God. And this is not achieved by saving them from the suffering but by raising them from the dead. In what stage will the raising of the dead be? Is it after the physical death or is it the death of not relying/hoping in your self anymore? With this said, dying to our selves so that we may be raised is clear but what is the stage of that dying? So say for example someone struggles with stress or anxiety, at what stage is it that they are dead to them selves and raised by God a new and filled with hope/reliance on God?

Good question, I'm surprised no one has answered you yet.
Referencing this example of someone who struggles with anxiety, the answer might be that God allows that person to struggle all their lives with anxiety to rely more heavily on Him. The answer could also be that God takes that thorn from their side for His glory. But the end result is always going to be about God's glory.
Look at the Old Testament. God saw what the Israelites were worshiping at the foot of the mountain, but when Moses pleaded with God to not destroy them, he asked Him not to because the other nations would not want to glorify Him if he was a tyrannical god.
