As a father, I love seeing the relationship with your son. Letting him take the lead but interjecting when needed. So authentic and natural. Keep up the good work guys!
Also the Police Officers do get the AWD Hemi Pursuit. That’s what my Dept has right now.
Using the old 5 speed auto.
John Capozzi It was announced by Chrysler the new pursuit is ditching the 5 speed and getting the 8 speed. Michigan state police already tested a awd 8 speed hemi.
Rip rocker arm needle bearings.
I know some Police Package AWD chargers are V8 too
Wish the durangos came hellcated 😆 6.2, awd, perfect dad mobile
100% agree the V8 should come with AWD. They should get on it right away.
V8 With All Wheel Drive Makes A Lot More Sense.
They did make that lol Dodge Charger pursuit 5.7 AWD
The RT used to be Awd
Just go buy a used charger interceptor. Some have a 5.7 v8 awd 🤷♂️
I’ve got one it’s awesome
With 100k miles and a shit transmission
5 speed auto though, so trade offs..
Alex no its not. Its a cop car, meant to be on all day and stop and go all day for 100k miles. Cop cars are pretty darn reliable
@@chiefbeef2947 they're reliable because there's no expense spared on them; police have big budgets. The only reason cop cars are "reliable" is because they are so well maintained. If it wasn't for the maintenance, they wouldn't even last a hundred 100000 miles
buy a 2 yr model for 50% off
Basically lol
JogBird
Sorry, but that won't work, as the Charger AWD GT with the SRT exterior appearance package seen in the review *is only available as a 2020 model.*

Did some shopping around and helped my son buy a new 2019 Challenger V6 last year and got it for under 25k with rebates. 45k seems a little high to me.
Yeah this seems like robbery to me or the dealership makes it seem like a good deal by buttering you up with rebates or discounts.
It's not a muscle car if it has the same engine as my wife's minivan lol
Sometimes I wonder why some companies don't offer AWD with their more powerful engine. First it was dodge with the charger/challenger, now it's Toyota with the Camry/Avalon.🤷🏽
@@damilolaakanni the high performance cars usually are heavy, and adding a awd/4wd option would add too much weight
@@damilolaakanni the charger used ro have awd 5.7s but no one bought them
How old are you? Do you realize your wifes minivan has the same engine as the charger? You should be honored
My wife is fighting with me to drive 392... Soo....
If I was gonna buy a new car I would never EVER buy a v6 “muscle car”
While I don’t disagree, modern V6s put out more power and torque than old school V8s. I guess if a person wanted to save on gas and insurance a V6 would be acceptable.
Justin Brown 😂😂😂
@Jean Phil Buy a car because YOU like it and don't care what anyone else thinks.
@@travisp11 no
You do know muscle cars back then didn’t push out 300 horses that’s wat crazy it’s just dumb people like yu don’t know history
I paid 35k out the door with taxes and fees for my new 2020 Scat Pack.
What state?
Where?
Chickenbonetone that’s not gonna happen in California haha. Midwest?
I did see the Challenger GT version of this as low as $23,000 new after markdowns and rebates, I think it was about $32k msrp. That was 2 years ago.
Dang I paid 38k and that was with my trade in and a rebate
45k for a V6???? Hell no!!!
Complete rip-off
@@Ericwolf520 A quick search on Autotrader shows brand new Charger V6 AWD are available for $32K. Noone should pay MSRP for a Charger.
@@mowcowbell That's true, but is that Charger loaded as well? I mean this thing pretty much on a scale from 0-10, 10 being loaded is a 10. It has everything. I think that's where the misconception is coming to a point. It may be a V6, but has everything. Granted there are dealer promotions as well.
I've seen 69 Camaros for less
They depreciated hella , you can find these practically new any where from 20-25k
I think the whole idea behind the term Muscle car = Loud , excess power , RWD for burnouts !!
You can do burnouts but its only awd below 40 degrees fahrenheit
You are so right.
Having a fake hood scoop, spoiler, and fake dual exhaust with no performance engine in a muscle car is like stuffing your pants with a sock, all show and no go.
Any “Charger” that ain’t hemi isn’t a charger. It should be called a Dodge Adapter or dodge cable
👍🏻
Thinking it has to have a hemi is just stupid and shows how much marketing has bashed into your head that whole "only real men get a v8" mentality. Which is fine, car makers, deals and gas companies love the idea of people buying a car that's a bit faster just because it's fun. Chargers have had v6 options even in the early days, so I guess they weren't Chargers either.
Eric Schell Aye genius! Dodge never had a v6 charger until early 2000s. First Charger out in 1964 was powered by a 318 cu in 5.2 L V8 with a three speed manual. Larger and more powerful engines were also available. They were all V8s. The ONLY reason they made v6 options of chargers and chargers was because they wanted to reach the audience who want the car but not the V8. Back then, it was a true muscle car. Muscle cars and v6 don’t go in the same sentence.
@@GodsloveMuzik 👍🏻
Zach Reynolds All that power is defeated by the weight of the car. A car can have 300hp but with over 4K lbs of curb weight, that 300hp will feel like 30hp.
Love the father and son duo, great back and forth. Always fun to watch. Good stuff chaps!
I believe the police can get the 5.7-L V8 with all-wheel drive as an option. I saw about 5 new police cars sitting on a Dodge dealer lot that were painted to go to the local state patrol. I also believe the cars had the 5-speed gearbox but don't quote me on that. I remember the gas mileage being quoted at 15 City 19 highway on the sticker.
Yep only 5 speed but that’s changing. Now the pursuit is dumping the 5 speed and its getting the 8 speed
Thanks for the review I was on the verge of buying one soon definitely have had a change of heart
I remember the old Fairlanes n Caprices Tommy mentioned... Thanks Roman n Tommy⭐⭐Great job
Looks like Roman missed the turn during the Snarf’s test 😂
Zero to 60 is like 6.4 seconds something like that not near 9 seconds or whatever I rented it at DIA. Besides that great review
Anything less than a V8 is a rice burner. The Charger Pursuit used to come in AWD V8, but does not anymore.
Idiot
Karl yes it does it never stopped. And now it’s finally dumping the 5 speed for the 8 speed
The RWD versions run 0-60 in about the mid 6 second range. I don’t know what these guys did with their test.
You need to be more honest you know that’s not a lease that’s a forget it at 46,000 The car is not worth that much.
Man alot of all the guys who comment hate the V6 i have an 18 v6 looks exactly like this one non awd. My best 0-60 4.5 at sea level 442whp 383 ftlbs. Ripp supercharged and i love it . I love the Pentastar. Great engine to build from, prove me wrong!
Coulda just bought a V8 and tuned it.
Willster7471 and be like everybody else , nah im good i rather be unique . Trust me i thought a about it i almost did. But why be like everyone. Im guessing you probably have one the v8’s and its tuned?
How much did the ripp super charger cost you and does it make a big difference?
Hey guys, great video as usual. Here in NH, I am running a 2018 5.7 AWD but yes it’s a State Police cruiser. And my personal vehicle...you guys are dead in the heated seats and steering wheel in my Pacifica and our J.L. are awesome.
With the on-going COVID-19 pandemic car prices would likely plummet
Covid is nothing but a hoax on the masses. But they are too indoctrinated to see it .
@@earthnotaglobe8472 God bless...
This is the car you buy for your kid, if gas mileage isn’t an issue. I appreciate your honest review.
Wait and buy it used, that's my philosophy.
Professional reviewers always annoy me with their complaints about certain cars interiors. Everything isn’t gonna Mercedes quality. And they act as if drivers and passengers are touching the dash when driving, if at all.
300hp is a perfect amount IMO
Agreed. The Pentestar V6 is a very reliable engine. And 300 horse without a turbo is impressive. This is more of a boulevard cruiser rather than a racer.
They gotta make the GT go up to the 5.7L Hemi... Would make that car a lot more buyable !
I’ve got an 2015 awd hemi charger but it’s a retired police vehicle that’s the only way to get a newer awd hemi on the lx platform
@@dmoney6633 Yeah those were great ! Unfortunately, they dont make them in AWD anymore D:
R/T “plus” trim will get you the body kit and round exhaust
@@nathant2414 Wont get you AWD tho. Dodge has so many models for the Charger & Challenger, might aswell release a fully loaded "GT R/T" for the Charger. Just my opinion!
VS Industry if you want AWD you’re looking in the wrong place with a Charger....
There's no way it's that slow tho, it's not hellcat but for a v6 that hauls that much weight it really does move
Just wanted to say that I really like the new abbreviated TFL Studios intro.
Absolutely Roman I'm with you on the V8 there's no disappointment for displacement
It's funny how they diss 0 60 time, but they did it in CO, going uphill and 3 of them in the car :D
You’ll were being entirely too generous; it is a “rent it” or “forget it”.
V6 sure, but if we look at the v8s especially the scatpack it's definitely a lease or a buy it
If your Muscle car doesn’t sound like it’s about to stall when your at idle then it’s not a muscle car lol.
It Isn't True,Because It Doesn't Sound Like A Muscle Car,Because If You Wanted A Muscle Car, You Gonna Need A V8.
Last I checked a GT AWD was generally around 35-36K. Whatever dealership that came from they're charging too much.
Im late but I got mine for just at 37k and it was fully decked out and low mileage from the dealership where ever they got theirs its way to much
I don’t know about the 2020 models but my 2018 police charger has the 5.7 Hemi and is AWD I love it!
My husband has a 2015 SXT. It was $36 grand. It had practically everything but the moonroof. What was on that beast to make it cost so much? It’s great in snow and rain, and will cruise all day long. It also hasn’t done anything evil in almost 5 years.
I own a 2013 v6 charger and I love everything about it but it's a great all around car but the only thing I would change is the v6 it really holds back the potential of this car if I get another charger it would deffinetly be a v8
Fully loaded 2018 Daytona 392 sticker - 51k, got for 44k ;) and no, you don't NEED AWD in cold climate. You need winter tires.
Winter tires are good but ground clearance is just as important.
@@andyrt69 I have been driving in my scat pack on fresh snow, where I was actually pushing a little snow with a bumper lip... It's hilarious when you pass SUVs stuck at intersection with all wheels spinning... Winter tires first, AWD second my friend.
Good deal
I purchased a 1 year old (8K miles) 2017 Chrysler 300S AWD, the cousin to the Charger, for $23K. The sticker was $46K as the car is completely loaded. At 50% off the MSRP, these cars are great value between the 1-2 years in-service dates.
My awd Dodge Magnum RT with a hemi was great fun and was good in snow
“…Was…”?
I have a 2015 Ralley. The V6 is tuned for 310 HP I think. The car is a blast to drive.
They should give folks what they want. The ability to order completely in control... widebody, awd, 5.7 or 6.4, diff interior options, body parts hoods bumpers wheels suspension, andddd colors 😑
I rented one of these in Phoenix last week. GT appearance looks good. Interior is..... Getting long in the tooth. Fuel economy is poor. Steering feels overboosted, but at least it has standard RWD.
I love the Pentastar but I would love see a review of the R/T with the 5.7 Hemi because most people seem to focus on scatpack 6.4 or the hellcat. Also I believe that the police department’s can get the 5.7 Hemi with AWD
Yes that's where I buy it from
I had a 2007 Charger V6 AWD. Ran track days at Mid Ohio and it was unstoppable in the winters! Loved that car, shoulda kept it! :(
I agree with Roman (SHOCKING) that a V6 is NOT a "muscle car." GT= Grand Touring, and the Charger is a terrific touring car. Rides very well on the highway for long distances. Upgrade the suspension just a bit and it still handles pretty well, too.
By the way, Sport Mode makes NO difference at full-throttle. It adjusts shifting during "spirited" driving. ;)
I’ll take the non-AWD version. Don’t go by MSRP. There are plenty of incentives right now. My local dealership has one marked down to $24K new right now.
Had the sunroof open. That will make the decibel reading a little louder. Other than that I had an AWD V6 but I live in Michigan and traveled a hour to and from work and the winters sometimes get brutal. I enjoyed my Charger
Bought a GT Challenger back in January. It's what I wanted as it's 305hp is more than what midsize (or most mids) trucks offer. I wanted an AWD coupe and I doubt Subaru is going to come through anytime soon. And a Lexus or -Benz is just too darn much more. And coming from a smart car, even Nathan would agree it's something of a better upgrade. It's my first Dodge or even FCA, plus UConnect is already known to be one of best infotainments out there. Surprised Tommy didn't show us his AWD test for this one
That is a fine airport rental, plenty of trunk space, cup holders and cold AC. What more could you want?
The police in my area have the V6 awd chargers for sure. As well as other other makes and models.
Do you know the mods they have on their vehicles?
I think there are police versions that do come with AWD and V8. I think that they are still equipped with the old 5 speed automatic. I seem to remember hearing that they v8+awd combo went away (for the public market) when they upgraded the transmission.
Roman Zero to 60 9.8 seconds.
Tommy Muscle car status daddy?
Me. More like Prius level status....
Roman always says the names of the cars like he just forgot what they were called.😆
I owned a 2013 Charger Hemi with AWD; it was a LEMON, could not be fixed, but was beyond the 24 month lemon law period. After some haggling, FCA gave me a replacement vehicle, a 2016 Chrysler 200C with AWD, which surprisingly turned out to be the best car I ever owned!. (And I've owned more than 20, from a Pinto wagon to a Mercedes S-class.)The 200C has 55,000 miles on it, never a single problem, and averages 27 MPG.
Fair review. After owning a 5.7 and now a 6.4, I'd agree that V6 does not translate into a real muscle car. For navigation, I'd just use Android Auto now that its standard on Uconnect. Also, tuff to do a halfway accurate "0 to 60" with 3 grown men in the car! :)
The GMC work truck with the 4.3 V6 you just posted beat that 0-60 time 😂. Really a shame you cant get the Hemi AWD in this generation. I have one as a work car and it has been surprisingly reliable. It is nice to have the option of the V6 and AWD.
u actually can. but only the police version has it
First of all, i liked the presentation. Its totally cool.
Planning to buy a 2020 GTS and had a test run yesterday with SXT. Felt nice and totally impressed. Currently am driving a Ford Fusion 2012 and totally comfortable with Ford. Checked out EDGE 2020 and am having confusion with the both. Whats your opinion?
GTS 2020 costs 144900 AED (equi 39000USD) and EDGE 181000 AED (49285 USD). Could you please guide me?

This car is a cruiser but not a muscle car. Muscle cars are a "normal/smaller" car with a big engine stuffed under the hood.
You are nuts! In your dim mind a Widebody Charger Redeye Hellcat would not be a muscle car!
@@charlesmarshall2697 that is definitely a muscle car. It's a normal car with a V8 stuffed under the hood. My comment says normal/smaller.

Not sure why FCA says they can't do things that they already did..... I'm a Dodge guy. Have 4 Durangos at present.
Went to NYC Auto show last year and asked why can't they put Hellcat in it..... They tell me it won't fit..... I replied they put it in the Grand Cherokee???? It's the same vehicle minus the third row!!! The reply was tell FCA you want it.
I honestly think they were keeping track of how many asked for this. Now of course they are going to (or did) do it.

If it's not a V8 it's not a Muscle Car, so no what you have right here is just another AWD V6 sedan in disguise as a Charger
God I wish they would do a hatch back version of these. I can’t go back to a normal car trunk after having a crossover.
Great review guys. I have one nit pick....instead of saying “navigate to snarfs?”, try saying “find snarfs?” If you look into the navigation screen, it references the word “find” alot. Keep up the good work!!

9:04 It showed a list of things you could say. "If you sad Find Nearest Snarf's," then it probably would have worked.
Kia Stinger GT or GT Line is around the same price, goes faster in either engine, more modern tech, better warranty, and handles more like a sports car.
Police version is based on the 5.7L Hemi mated to the 5 Speed Automatic Transmission.
Wonder what FCA was thinking splitting AWD from the V8, especially now that there's no SHO to compete with.
The new Camry & Avalon V6 could keep up with this...
So apparently the new charger pursuit will have the 8 speed backed up by the 5.7 and awd. Michigan state police already tested one.
Muscle cars are not defined by the car itself. It's the engine that makes it a muscle car.
I have a 2013 RT plus AWD, it is the best of both worlds
The reason I heard is the Hemi doesn't fit with all-wheel drive due to the 8-speed transmission. The old Hemi AWD and the pursuit Hemi AWD chargers have the 5-speed automatic
Finally someone with a brain
Funny enough the pursuit is now ditching the 5 speed this year. On dodges website you can see awd v8 pursuit with 8 speed auto. Michigan state police already tested one
The police cruisers have v8 AWD. Dodge needs to take that drivetrain and put it in consumer version..
The police cruisers have the last gen 5 speed transmission. Where the current gen has the 8 speed.
Nik Mahaney That’s now changing. All pursuit models going 8 speed
All show and no go!
The police V8 AWD still comes with the 5 speed transmissions. And the mpg penalty.
FCA's V6's are great in my grandmother's 2018 Chrysler Pacifica has beaten the new Ram 1500 EcoDiesel and some Jeep's and in my mother's 2017 Chrysler 200S Awd had beaten the Jeep Cherokee, Dodge Charger and Challenger V6, and other cars but this mostly happened on the highway
They all owned by the same parent company. Power output should be about the same.
