@@JustSomeChatter I mean to be fair , on a normal playthrough parrying isn't all that essential . Sekiro to me was a game I only struggled because I didn't know how to play it properly , once I learned it to some degree the game became much easier , now I have hundreds of hours and can do a deathless Demon's Bell no Kuro's charm Mortal Journey gauntlet . It really depends how much time you are willing to put in the game . Beating Sekiro on your first playthrough is like learning how to walk , far and I mean far from mastering the game . So I really don't see why anybody who is half decent at games can't beat the normal Sekiro experience . This isn't me attempting to defend Asmon at all , its just me pointing out that people are making Sekiro to be this really hard game when in reality it isn't at all , it is only until you learn how to play it which will take a few hours probably . Obviously if you decide to play without Kuro's charm the game gets a lot harder , the Demon bell will also increase the difficulty but less than than Kuro's Charm .

Eh, not everyone is a pro gamer, most casual gamers are like Asmon and that is what people like about him. They don't watch him for "pro" gameplay, they watch him for his reactions and commentary.

This is one of those games that need to be experienced individually, combos have hella depth, combat is amazing, but when you watch someone who doesn’t use different combos n moves, it feels stale lmao, almost dark souls like, same pattern of attacks. I saw gameplay on the demo n I thought the it was square square square, until I played. These combos are insanely cool 😂 button combinations for moves is also something that I find rlly cool for a single player game

People saying there’s an input delay on parrying, there isn’t. What there is is a wind up to each action, including parrying, and being locked into animations part way through. The day 1 patch reduced that a bit making it easier to land parries, although it may take some readjusting if you had gotten used to the timings in the demo.
Hopefully he practices parrying a bit offstream, it’s a pretty heavy part of combat.
Nah, it was clearly input delay. Pressing the block button, an animation doesn’t even start happening for quite a bit. You can use the wind-up excuse, but that’s not it: the demo played pretty poorly because of the input latency. The full game plays great, though. There was also delay in standard attacks and combos in the demo
I played the demo and completely disagree with this input delay nonsense. Total fabrication.
It was patched, it's just an excuse to not use parry.

i find the blocking laggy and the enemies attacks are either delayed or lightning quick with little way to tell which. also slow attacks followed immediately with a fast 2nd. the blue dodge is also very hit or miss. not harder than ER but more annoying, ER felt like you're to blame when you die due to lack of skill, this is far more unfair due to mechanics/imput

Additonally, there are two skills that allow Eve to get behind the enemy. Blink is one them that is available early. The other (top tier) skill becomes available much later.

In the early game perfect parry makes more sense as it will charge beta skill, but as you progress you will unlock burst skills which will charge upon perfect dodges
@@guujigamingdo the dodges deplete the posture style gauge later in the game? I'm finding parrying those and hitting the retribution is the route to victory atm. I'm basically playing it like Sekiro with the dodge being a sort of mikiri
@@Gazibaldi Not entirely sure what you mean, but personally if I see a yellow light I parry, if I see blue/pink light I dodge. Anyway, where I am in the game rn I can pretty much do 4 perfect dodges, then press R1+circle and AoE everything. It takes out most common enemies, and they are shortly stunned so I can do follow up by holding triangle.
@@guujigamingthere are little yellow pips on the boss health gauge. Each perfect parry you do reduces that by one. When depleted the boss is staggered and you hit triangle for a retribution attack for massive damage. I don't think the perfect dodge depletes that. Well it doesn't so far in terms of skills for me.
It works on any non unblockable attack too. So you can just about parry everything.

It’s not a spam game, certain abilities need to parry and certain need to dodge. It’s weird because near the end all he had to do was parry the headbutts but he forgot the parry button existed lol I understand being overwhelmed on stream tho
Not learning how to parry = Death. Parry builds Beta Energy, which activates Retribution and massive damage to the enemies. Practice makes perfect!

Just a reminder that Stellar blade was created by Shift Up, the same developers who made Nikke, and it now has a 1,5 anniversary so I would recommend trying it out now. You can't rate a game without even playing it after all, right? 😉

Yep, full checklist. This is how my mother would play if I gave her the controller, except she wouldn't dodge either.
It's a solid 8/10 game. Yes yes, we have all the discourse regarding censorship and attractiveness or whatever else but in terms of the gameplay, it's good but not great. However, the soundtrack is surprisingly not really talked about. It's one of the best parts of the game.

I like what I see so far but it seems like a carbon copy of Nier Automata and the soundtrack is very Nier. I don't think that is a bad thing, but I hope their next effort is more original. I don't find the character designs very interesting. Sure they are attractive but they looks like attractive NPCs. I suppose if you like Bayonetta you will also like Eve, I prefer the design of 2B as she feels more mysterious and interesting

Weekend before last I did another playthrough of Sekiro so when this one dropped yesterday I jumped right in with the parry mechanic already fresh and clicking and I must say it has definitely been helpful.

Dodge is good but try to parry more often
I had a lot of trouble parrying too, but then I discovered that you can't just tap parry, you have to hold it for like a half second. Now it's easy. You can also just hold the block button to continuously block until you figure out the parry timing. It will do some damage, but much less than taking the hits.

Block and parry not that hard i did it with skin suit took me 5 times but its not that bad i cant do dark souls but this game is way more reactive when you hit buttons there is not a move lag between hitting button and character responding to inputs and have to wait for animations to complete
I like the different attack modes. Its a lot to take in at once but I decided its prob a good idea to just focus on like one move for each attack mode for now

What’s good asmand I just followed you on twitch I just completed Stella blade as well and I wanted to watch your journey as well through the game I’ve been following your channel for a little bit of time here on CZcams so I decided to follow you as well on twitch I had trouble with that same boss too I know there’s a few people here talking about you’re not using the beta skills and Perry but the fact that you got that boss down to half helth just using only light attacks was interesting once you do get a handle on those systems and mechanics you’re gonna blow through the game play like a hot knife through butter and it’s gonna be fun to watch. I look forward to seeing that progress

Ill admit the combat does take a bit to get used to. Deciding what skills to unlock first to make your playthrough smoother is a learning process.
the game is honestly so easy. I explored a bit and had like 9 SP or something and started to unlock many of the abilities that make the fights even easier and I first tried most of the bosses until now

@@Kuromii_x I don't even own a PS5 🤣 all the videos I see are in English and it's these British accents. I like to play games in English, TBH. Lots of games have still done a great job of doing English langue but appropriate accents, like Sekiro.

Even if I have the physical disc, it is a major struggle to keep the unpatched 1.000.000 version.
Every time you connect to the Internet for anything outside the game, the moment you go back to the game, offline, auto updates disabled, the game will always initiate the patching. You will ALWAYS have to uninstall the game & reinstall it. 10-15 minutes each time.

I'm about 20-25 hours into this game and I've found that playing defensively seems to work best. Of course it helps that I invested skill points into improving my dodge window timing. Cause frankly, this type of gameplay I'm lousy at.
But stay strong Asmond. You played Fires of Rubicon, you can do this too.
You can change the delay settings on your PlayStation five or pc to where it doesn’t but there is a Settings in the settings of the system. & in the game settings That’s a delayed trigger. You can change that in my stellar blade version of the game. I’m not seeing any delay in any attacks. Or button pressing, I hit them right on. I Do have some different set ups in Settings and stuff I have on my system, but mainly I have not seen any delay in the game attacks when I attack, on my side when I play the game

I just got the game two days ago and I didn't die once on my entire play through. I thought the game was extremely forgiving and easy. Asmongold is a great example of not learning game mechanics. Every souls game or souls like he just swings a big sword until he gets lucky and beats the boss. This reason is what makes it so entertaining to watch him play souls games. It's funny to watch him mald so hard

Also, on the last boss its like he gets his memory wiped and forgets all the basic mechanics in the game. Damn I hope he gets it sooner or later. I get that its difficult to play new games on stream, I did it myself yesterday (with obviously not as many viewers as him) but its still strange to see him react this way to new games, especially soulslikes where you know he likes them and has played many of them in the past. It’s ok asmon it takes a while to figure it out 😂 I played a good 30 min on story mode just to get a feel on the characters attacks then normal mode was so slight

얼마전에 그가 나랑 나이가 같다는걸 알았을때, 내가 게임을 잘하는 중년인건지 아스몬이 게임을 못하는건지 헷갈리기 시작했음.... ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
It's absolutely the easiest souls-like, if we can even call it one. It's impossible to die in this game. Good game though.
Id say medium difficulty, the smoothness isn't present like the smooth fast pace in sekiro. There's more recovery frames and bosses are hard to stagger. Idk eve feels slow sometimes but you gotta be more selective of what you use I guess

The intro looks like Starship Troopers actually and the pod pretty much feels like "Neir Automata" while the world is some sort of "Horizon" or "Dino Crises" setting. Nothing new but still looks nice.
This looks a bit like Nier Automata, the dodge seems very similar and the music sometimes.
Which is good because Nier Automata was such a great game and instead of doing some sort of sequel, they are shoehorning 2B in every single game for easy profits
It's similar but also not. I enjoy the gameplay much more than nier so far.
Dodging in Nier is very -broken- forgiving, Stellar blade is a lot more strict with its timing and dodging has more start-up lag.

The boss gauntlet with preset character for practice in The demo was genius got me to be pretty damn decent at this i got to a point of almost no hit winning that thing
I do think levels overall are a little too stuffed with random enemies tho but you can theoretically clean the map and nothing will reset until camp rest, also i still cant for the life of me feel any delay people are talking about 🤷🏻
But i also dont play through capture card i play off native feed and my stream is out of the ps5 directly
