Japan was "de-fanged" by the US after WW2, when America established military bases on Japanese soil, mostly to "keep an eye on" Japanese military aggression (if it should arise again), just like US did in Germany also. But in the later half of 20th century, both Germany and Japan shed their shameful military legacy of WW2, and both became peaceful, technological powers.
Thus, in recent decades, the intent of US presence in Japan & Germany changed almost completely - Instead of keeping an eye on Japan & Germany, the US military almost became a PROTECTION for these countries! America's presence near Japan & Germany was meant to deter potential aggressors, such as Russia (on Germany's borders), and China & North Korea (on Japan's borders). In fact, one of the changes proposed by Donald Trump during his 2016 campaign was to bring back US military from far off places like Japan or Europe because it costs America too much.

For a matter of fact I agree Japanese Navy is more technologically advanced in than Indian Navy, but if missile deployment is the only parameter of a strong Navy then lemme tell you people something real interesting. A salvo of 5-6 Brahmos anti-ship cruise missiles can take down any heavily fortified aircraft carrier strike groups in the world including American Nimitz and Ford classes. Many people are unaware about the devasting capability of Brahmos missile. We have kalibr cruise missiles and K series ICB missiles as well. So when it comes to firepower, I don't think Indian Navy lacks a bit of it. Cz if you take a look at IN's inventory you'd see that not only the destroyers but all the 14 frigates along with 23 corvettes are armed with Brahmos missiles. You need more numbers to do a saturation attack. But with a system like brahmos which is both supersonic and maneuverable the rate of accuracy increases to unimaginable levels. There's a reason why Indian Navy chose to make Kolkata and Vishakhapatnam class destroyers carry only 16 brahmos missiles and equip them with much more advanced anti submarine and anti air capabilities.

I agree with most of your statements but disagree with "Japan doesn't has ambition to be geopolitical player" ........... It does. Maybe not militarily but economically & politically they surely do. The most prominent example is their denial for inclusion of Korea or India into G7/G8 group. They want to be sole contender from Asia to have bigger impact/voice/importance. Another example is their candidacy for permanent UNSC seat along with other nations of G4 group.
I think there are 2 reasons they don't want to engage militarily worldwide, one is they have already done & experienced the effects of expansionism & military invasions between 1900-1945, military engagements create a lot of hostilities globally & sucks up huge money. The prime example is USA & we all know how much they have to spend yearly into their militaries because of overseas fights, bases & troops.
Which brings us to the 2nd reason, money. US is taking care of big portion of Japan's defense cost due to which it is able to invest/work on it's society, education, healthcare & most importantly funding & researching cutting edge technologies, which is Japan world famous for.

U.S.S.R also had hard power through the continent but China hardly have any hard power as equal to U.S.A. Yes sir Japan is now defensive and very busy in making best world relationship. Unlike its old time it was power hungry and if matter of resources again japan can't do on its own. It required more allies who can provide right and massive resources in their skillful hands. That's why it's making most advance technology to defend themselves better and to avoid further unfavorable circumstances 👌

I disagree that Japan has better navy than India.
Indian Navy got 2 fixed wing Aircraft Carriers 1. INS Vikramaditya
2.INS vikrant (IAC 1 under sea trials)
( carrier strike groups are most powerful military unit composition)
Indian Navy got SSbn( nuclear submarine carrying nuclear tipped ballistic missiles a single of this type can wipe out japan 2-3 times)
    Japan dont have this 2
Indian navy also has more no of personnel and other number of ships and naval strength is measured in total tonnage of ships it has.
I dont know how you came up with "missile launch at any time" formula.
