Speaking from my personal experiences with little kids, I would say we are naturally selfish. Kids always fight, demand stuff and they are really bad at sharing. And they start to lie, even if nobody ever lied to them or in front of them. True story!
Yep
I agree we are naturally selfish but I believe most people try to live above that when they’re older and genuinely try to be a good person because they know it’s the right thing to do
I don't think all are like this , it really depends on the parents and the environment they grow up in , I know kids who are wonderfully selfless even at that age
There are always the exceptions as with anything, we live in a diverse universe so it is unfair and narrow minded to tar everyone with the same brush, but agree with you on the majority of kids I have observed are like that.
So what? They are just kids
My 2 year old nephew says he loves you he dosent understand what you talk about but he likes your voice
Jayden Wyatt ahhhhh. Hope he learns something from him when he learns language. ;)
Jayden Wyatt he must like blocky

🧱 here some bricks and 🎈 a balloon to make you feel better
The other day I was thinking and realized that everything we do is for ourselved. Get into a relationship to have someone make you happy. Sacrifice yourself to save someone else because it makes you feel better. So when you say "I love you" you are actually saying " I love that you make me happy and that makes me happy so I will keep you here and take care of you so I can feel better and good"
Yep
Nice
Partners are tolerated until you change your mind isnt it !?
So is that bad I don't think so?
Survival need
"Evil isnt born, its made"
Brittania it's both. Because it depends on what influence them and if they were born with a mental disorder.
Unless you're born atheist.
Yo mama technically we are all born an Atheist :/
PastaManiac L.A It also depends on what disorders manifest themselves as acts which society has designated to be called "evil". Thus we have to define the word first.
Eyyyyyyyy now that's what I call savege good
Evolution has created an inherent neural desire to protect our species. Its what made us so dominant on earth. We save the baby because we have an instinct that has come from millions of years of evolution that we ourselves have a safety in numbers.
YESSSSSS. We are naturally altruistic group species!
Sara Heart I wouldn't call it altruism so much as protecting the pack also makes the pack protect you, so you get a benefit.
+goodfilmful So we act unselfishly because we're selfish
*mind blown*
Im not sure its that simple. Anything aside from that which couldnt harm you would be up for the desire of saving. A kitten or puppy you would want to save. We've domesticated them though. We would never try to save a full grown grizzly bear, but a clumsy cub we would rush to it. Its not strictly a pact thing.
Every ones different some are selfless and some are selfish
Cory Grant Yes, its quite dependant on their environments as well or the society that they are raised up in
Jojo Lim What type of person would u be if you were a jinchuriki?
Jon Jackson the one human that will always have a chakra trail
I believe that a few are selfless and more humans are selfish.
if you dont act your a sociopath

This channel is so underrated but the animation is smart and adorable!! :3
Yah it should atleast be as half as popular as watch Mojo
+Alieni Smurf uhmm what? XD
I think that you mean is overrated
+Barb Dettloff No its not overrated
yeah!!
Humans are not born Good or Bad...
They become so in response to the surrounding Environment.
Games Bond The question is are they born good or bad, not if they will be or become.
RzVids Which is why he also addressed that. It's literally the first thing he said.
RzVids true, a child that was born and raised in good surroundings will become good as in most situations but if a child were to be born in a area surrounded buy gangs, hoodlums, terrorists and or heathens (s)he will become bad
But first we need to establish what is good and bad, and what is beyond such judgments.
So nurture instead of nature
I believe that everyone starts off as a blank slate and we get to write our own stories. Others can also influence us to be good/bad like our friends and parents, so that plays a part in making us who we are

there is no good or bad its only what we think is good and bad
so true. the whole world is fake.
+Pedro Castellanos Then what are we living on then?
+Stanley Chan our imagination.
The video talks about if you were born good or bad so in that case if you were just born you can't think about good or bad witch means you can't control your thaughts
I am with you
The problem with this question is it demands a black or white answer. Some humans are bad, some humans are good. Although, I think all humans are selfish. Not 24/7, but most of the time. Even with this recent Orlando shooting everyone starts talking about how it made THEM feel, even though none of them were involved. 9/10 a human will only do something if there is a benefit for them, even if that benefit is getting to gossip or brag about an act of kindness later during a dinner party or on social media. Social media is successful because it gives people a chance to talk about themselves and gossip about others.
Here's a black or white answer. Black- Bad, White- Good

@@JacobeeVa
I disagree but I agree with him Brandon Chapman .
@@JacobeeVa You just took example of a small group of people. Why are you judging the rest of billions of people that a small groups of people did? Also what do you mean by “mean”. Just because someone is mean, it does not mean that they are forever bad. In addition YOU went out of you way to be mean to everyone.

0:04 aperantly babys crawl with there elbows....😂😂😂
Neither. I think there's no human nature, it all depends on your environement, your genetic legacy and your education.
true
+Bad Strophes Yes, but also human nature
omgfackdehell What do you call "Human Nature", and furthermore, what is good or bad, in your opinion ?
(It's not a test, I just want to make sure we talk about the same thing) :)
Bad Strophes Human nature, for example girls loving mucles and guys loving big(ger) boobs and ass. Its nature because its used to be the best selection in the history of our species, now we just like it because of our human nature..
+omgfackdehell Men like bigger boobs because they are better for breastfeeding
I honestly think it's up to parents to raise their child right, but all humans, even the most behaved will eventually act selfishly. No human is perfect. Some people's personalities are also in play. You could be a very kind person, or the opposite. People also have the ability to change when they realize their selfish acts aren't getting them anywhere.
They can change but the environment varies
One of the reasons why I watch Life Noggin videos is because I fell in love with the voice so much. ❤ The voice is so attractive, and calming.

+Cutecatlover231 AJ Are you disabled?

Finnian Lavellan That actually make sense. Pretty much 99% of humans are naturally selfish, but most are aware and still do care about helping others. Even if deep down it may be just so we feel good / get praise.

Me: *moves baby away from pot hole and puts it somewhere else and walks away.* 'I did my job."
I think a truly great person is somebody who gives the choice between acting cooperatively or selfishly as much or as little consideration as he needs and chooses the former even though the latter would provide him with the most tangible rewards.
This channel needs more recognition. The videos are made and written well and are very interesting!
I remember there was also another study where small children would walk around, minding their own business, with an older person writing. The test consisted in verifying if, when the pen fell to the ground, if a child would go to pick it up on his own initiative. Surprisingly, it was common for children to help an adult.
Not sure where I found that...
Well, as a person who was a child very recently I can confirm that usually it’s not because the kids want to help the adult. I remember when I was in primary school and the teacher dropped her pencil. I went to pick it up for her mostly because I had nothing else to do. Other kids went to pick it up because they wanted the teacher to like them, I could tell from their attitude.
@@katdoestuffYT these comments are delusional.humans act in whatever way benefits them. You don't commit crime because the law. You don't cheat on your wife because divorce. All brainwashed
@@joys8634 That’s what I’m saying. I picked up the teacher’s pencil because it gave me benefit, so that I had something to do.
> "it was common for children to help an adult"
I assume these weren't homeless crack babies in the study? These toddlers are "given" things from day one. It's learned behavior.
This is the quickest Life Noggin video I've ever watched
I think it depends a lot on circumstances. I think that human want good things and they also do so if they can and know how. I think you feel good/better if you act good - that is also a reason to lead a good life. But if it is very difficult to be good - if it is hard to survive or if they are scared of something may they would choose a bad way...

@Tammy Catz this message is worth a visit in hell
I say humans are bad because they make stuff like Teen Titans Go and Twerking.
+King of Lego I laughed insanely hard on this..
Power Star It's the truth.
Dont forget, Haters and Antis
Not really twerking because twerking is the traditional dance in some countries in west Africa. And where I'm from Ethiopia and I'm in a certain place (I'm not from there) there traditional dance is twerking. People just make twerking really inappropriate
That's your opinion. People enjoy both
Honestly I always think of the Yin and Yang whenever this question pops up. No person is truly good or bad, they have a bit of both.
"get that eraser tool away from ME!" is so classy to me! XD

A major percentage of humans are inherently good. Reason being if we were inherently bad then our world would cease to exist because we would end up destroying each other. Also, if we were all bad then there would be no doctors, nurses or any other professions that cares for others bad people are greedy, selfish, and care about no one but themselves. I believe that right now we have good and bad people in this world one balances out the other. We can only hope that we never see that balance move higher towards the bad.
DeeEll86442 True
Some people are not bad on a surface level, but are internally. For example, if people were bullying someone, most people won't intervene...
You're very naive
You missed the whole point.lets say, if you get money for helping people, you would be doing that every day. Hence, naturally kind.
I strongly disagree with you, it is not the way one is brought up. "Man is naturally good, and anything that is not natural has corrupted us from our natural state." -Rousseau
According to me, it depends on the various factors like the kind of situation, our experiences with that situation in the past , our philosophy, our education, mood and especially our mental condition.
People are not totally good and bad because we just want to meet other people’s expectations. However, we may be affected by our circumstances.
I believe in my own philosophical answer to this question. Its helped me understand the meaning of my own existence and I'm happy with it. And I think anyone else that has their own answers are happy that's a good thing.
"The world isn't split into good people and bad people. We've all got light and dark inside us. It is the part we choose to act upon which shows who we really are."
I believe that humans are born innocent. (Think of cute little babies, don't you picture them as innocent?) It depends on how they are raised and the environment and other variables to determine if they are good or bad people in general.
Auxia GT nonsense we come in to this world kicking and screaming violent and unstable it is our nature all humans are born with the original sin no human is born innocent
Younan Younan when we're are born think about it like this
we just came out of our *MOTHER* and are covered in *BLOOD* instead of being in the same old place its like we came into another dimision ya totally not a good reason to *SCREAM* or *CRY*

Please can you make a video about how you can see your thoughts and what's in front of you at the same time
It's just animal instinct: you protect the children to ensure the survival of your species.
It is more that likely that most people empathize with the situations of others. We wouldn't like to fall in a hole, so we don't let other people fall in a hole.
*HARVERT AND YALE WHISPERS*
I've been treated like shit my entire life, have serious bad luck, love horror movies, monster not slasher. but no matter what I go through empathy is naturally a part of me.
Exactly i told people that how you are it has to be in you like in your soul. Example: people who are loyal arent loyal because if curcumstances, they are born with it in their soul
Neither, both are arbitrary concepts made by humans themselves, in reality there is no good or bad, only choice
I agree! Look at animals! They just act and they dont see this whole fake man made construct called good vs evil! There is only choice with humans! Evil and good are meangingless words......But I personally always have felt that humans in general have bugger tendencies towards selfish negative actions vs positive ones! Society is what makes people conform and conditions them to feel and act a certain way and after milleniums of conditions people dont even know what they truly are! They only do positive things or help others cuz thats what they were conditioned to do or cuz of selfish reasons to make them look good. People dont have the gift of selfishness. Doing good deeds has always been a result of conditioning! At the core humans dont or cant explain why they do positive or negative things! Negative actions is driven by selfish desires and positives actions is the same unfortunaltey........ If this construct of evil vs good were to actual be a real thing than I would say that people are defentely inherently bad and that society, norms, values, media, condtioing and more makes people hold back their evilness and selfish desires! If you could see into peoples hearts you would see people walking around filled with the most sadistic selfish thoughts imaginable! Humans nowayds are jsut like a product made in a factory! They are all made and profmrammed the same way and they dont even know it! They like to think that they are good cuz thats what society promotes but they are faking it deep down! There is a murderer inside of almsot every human.
Cryosis So robbing a bank and killing someone is not bad and adopting a child to give it a home or saving someones life isn't good
@@travisprescott9708 my guy we literally live in a universe where morals and laws change depending on which time time line and century you were born in 🤦♂️. If you were born in the 16th century and was raised by racist parents you would be racist. If you where born in the 3rd Century and was raised to believe something you would be ok with it since most of society at the time was ok with it. Good and bad are concepts humans use to decide. Most humans find robbing a bank evil but than there is another counter argument to this. If you really needed the money and your about to die would you still rob the bank? That’s the thing about the good and bad concept which humans made. Humans literally made good and bad so society wouldn’t go around killing each other for fun. Religion helps this matter as well
@@feorgenotgloyd7624 I disagree that it's "man made", it's just ignorance.

+Julian Cannilbary like your family. You 6 year old kid.
yes and no.
with lots people, the surroundings do matter but not so much with people who are psychopaths, have schizophrenia, ect.
Julian Cannilbary nope
It depends on their personality, if someone feels emphatic they might react to it either in a good way or a bad way. It depends on team.
Nothing is good or bad. Only thinking makes it so.
It's a matter of how much empathy somebody has (and probably some other things combined). Babies generally have a lot of empathy. They did studies where adults were "struggling" to complete simple tasks and the little kids always went over to help them. Around adolescence empathy plummets (at least for males), and my hypothesis for this is because that's a time you need to prove yourself and too much compassion will hold you back from performing a lot of selfish tasks (like competition over mates, hunting, proving you're not afraid to kill someone from another tribe, etc). Then later empathy is greater again.
Naturally we're all selfish, self-preservation, but empathy also serves a lot of evolutionary benefits so we have that. But empathy evolved later than aggression did, of course, so the aggression part tends to overpower the empathic part when triggered too strongly
Plus a whole bunch of other factors...
There are three people that were born great in this world:

"Get that eraser tool away from me"
That flower reminded me of "daisy" from show "oswal".
I wouldn't let the baby fall cuz it would be terrible to watch
True, but the question would essentially ask you, why would it be terrible to watch? To some crazed psychopath, violence and pain is entertaining to watch, no matter the age. To the more sane people though, of course it's not a pleasant sight.
But above all the question is, what makes it "terrible to watch"?
(i'm not saying I'm a psychopath, btw)
Also the reason 'it would be terrible to watch' is somewhat selfish, as it would put said person's comfort first.
I wouldn't want it to fall because one, they have a life ahead of them. Two if it has parents SAVE IT I don't wanna know what would happen if it died in front of the parents. three the baby might die or be stuck or die in pain I am not selfish poor thing might want to live and others may agree!
Me : *sees a baby going to fall from a hole*

1:14 Bloko: Science is awesome!
I think human were borned to bad.
We afraid of punishment, so we learn how to be a good person.
So is a child, a baby bad?
If this was true, then any child born into a bad abusive home would not turn out to be good and better than their families.
I think humans can do bad things but can do many good things too. We are not perfect and SOME of the bad things we do don’t define us as a person. Some of the bad things shows that we have flaws and perhaps dont always know what to do in certain situations but it isnt always out of spite. Humans can do many great things too like cure illnesses, donate to charity, look out for friends and family, look after one and other things. Therefore i think humans are both good and bad.
personally, i feel as though john locke’s tabula rasa (blank canvas) theory makes much more sense to me

dogs: am I a good boy or am I just motivated by treats
even if im edgy... i save people or risk my life from it
because im suicidal and im gonna do it for good
example:
a guy is being aimed by a gun. i wil jump in front of the shooting range to save him and me diying not in vain
I think humans are deep down selfish, we will act selfishly if such an act is to save ourselves, for e.g. fighting for food when you're starving. Compared to first world people where they can share food, because that loss of food won't really cause harm to them. Same for the baby: if saving the baby won't damage us, we will save it, but if saving the baby will cause some severe injuries to the person, that person would usually put their lives first.
Just because you're selfish doesn't mean that everyone else is like you weirdo....
Mike Grown Read what I wrote. Selfishness isn't an absolute; a huge proportion of us humans can be either selfish or selfless, depending on the situation we are in. I never said I was selfish; and Im pretty sure you too are selfish at times. lastly, idk how being selfish is weird; a lot of people are selfish in their everyday actions. Just think about it and you will realise Im right.
goodbye rose the dog.😥😳😢😭🙀😿
Selfishness is often times not a choice. The body has one goal. Keep itself alive. The rational mind decides things that are bad for you in the short term, but work out in the long. You're not always using the rational mind, and some use it more or less than others.
I think that everyone's personality is different and the growing environment is important.

Kill'em
Bad and Good is a perception on things. They can mean whatever you want to mean so a serial killer can be though as bad by most people buy the serial killers and others may see it was a good thing. Humans are born as just humans, they choose what they want to be so technically, no. Nobody is born that way but it is natural to be either and natural to have a view on it.
1:06 R.I.P blocko
1:55 HAHAHHAHAHA
What happened to block'o animator 😂😂😂
i thought of something!!!
it might be the answer!!
humans evolved to be social and help each other so when people see a baby gonna fall down a hole and die their natural instincts kicks in and they help the baby, because humans are animals in packs think about it, familys stick together and people are in different groups as familys and so are wolves and other animals, if a baby wolf from a wolfs pack was being attacked another wold in its pack would see it because they work together, this does something with humans and so we would save the baby because it is part of our pack, or if its not part of our pack/family the person would probably save it because we evolved to be social.
omg I just can't read it its do long
Harmony Pushups But that doesn't explain why we want to save other animals too. We didn't have any social evolution with animals but if you see an animal on a road with a car heading toward it, you would want to save it.
hmm true. But wolves don't save other animals so were kinda the same.. i guess..
Perhaps wanting 2 save other animals is a socially-conditioned behaviour, rather than an evolved one.
I don't know about you, but my instinct to save a baby about to be hit by a car would probably be quicker and stronger if the baby was a human that if it was, say, a rat.
There is no thing as good and bad becouse we will always think that we are doing the right thing.
No, I do thing all the one I think and know are wrong.
Very nice
I think so.
