  • Virtual walking tour of Columbus, Georgia.
In this video, I walk throughout Middle Georgia's city square of Columbus, GA and hit nearly every corner. Some use this video for inspiration to visit this beautiful city square, others for ASMR purposes. Like most things in life, it's better in person!

Columbus is a consolidated city-county located on the west-central border of the U.S. state of Georgia. Columbus lies on the Chattahoochee River directly across from Phenix City, Alabama. It is the county seat of Muscogee County, with which it officially merged in 1970.[4] Columbus is the second-largest city in Georgia (after Atlanta), and fields the state's fourth-largest metropolitan area. According to the 2020 United States census, Columbus has a population of 206,922 residents,[5] with 328,883 in the Columbus metropolitan area.[2] The metro area joins the nearby Alabama cities of Auburn and Opelika to form the Columbus-Auburn-Opelika Combined Statistical Area, which has an estimated population of 486,645 in 2019, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.[6]
Columbus lies 100 miles (160 km) southwest of Atlanta. Fort Benning, the United States Army's Maneuver Center of Excellence and a major employer, is located south of the city in southern Muscogee and Chattahoochee counties. Columbus is home to museums and tourism sites, including the National Infantry Museum, dedicated to the U.S. Army's Infantry Branch. It has the longest urban whitewater rafting course in the world constructed on the Chattahoochee River.

I moved from Phenix City to Los Angeles in 1962. I returned to Columbus in 1969. I was a young teenager then, I spent a lot of time in downtown Columbus. Wow, what changes the city has made sense 1969.... In 1969, You had the Bradley, Rialto, Georgia, Fox and Dream theaters; and you had a roller skating rink . Always plenty to do. The land scape has changed drastically over the years....The buildings have been upgraded for a modern look...The restaurants and food businesses have a nice Appeal .... Columbus has done an outstanding job. I believe this was necessary to keep up with the Mordern Times ,but I am old school and I miss the old Columbus.

I like how the person who created this video hustles along the downtown area of Columbus and doesn’t say a word. I gave another video of downtown Columbus a 👎🏾 because the guy was too opinionated. This video gets a 👍🏾.

Remembering shopping downtown in the early 70's, many of the great department stores and mom and pops are long gone. Kirven's, Kiralfy's, Kayser Lillianthal, Matthews. Kravtins Novelty Shop, Kiddie Shoppe, HKGreen, Sol and Harry, The Movin' Man. It was difficult then for downtown stores and restaurants to compete with Columbus Square and Peachtree Mall but I still loved downtown. I am happy to see many active stores and restaurants again. I loved the Bradley and Georgia theaters back in the day also. Would love to see the Bradley restored to its original glory as a movie palace and performance stage (as John Gilbert tried to in the 80s.)

What's up with the “magical music” at the beginning? 😂 Columbus is a great place, but definitely not magical lol.
Thought I was at Disney World for a second. 😂

Great video. I wish you could have taken a video with the crowded shoppers and restaurant goers before the pandemic shut everything down and emptied the streets and sidewalks. I do enjoy your camerawork and documentation.
