#halo #halomods #gamedesign - Hry
You made the flamethrower, fuel rod gun, sword and wraith usable in campaign. Bruh. That’s all I’ve ever wanted. The added encounters and layout changes are awesome. Completely in love with this mod.
the only things that I would add as an option are dual wielding only the four weapons that you dual wield in halo 2 can be used and with it jackal shields, maybe dual wielding elites (other than that special one) and the covenant using human and sentinel weapons but that is it
I actually had no idea the melee had variable damage. I always assumed it was a set amount of damage.
Yeah, it's more diverse in CE than in any of the later games. Speed, damage and range. In fact the one significant use of the AR in multiplayer, other than catching invis, was that it's melee range made it useful for double melee button combos.
Infinite brings it back a little bit, not just with the melee damage buff on bladed weapons, some swing faster than others (the pistols lets you punch faster than nearly anything else).
Yeah they got rid of it in 3. H2s melee follows the same principle where jumping and running melees do more damage
@@colbyboucher6391 halo 2 had the best setup with it
@@tylerellis9097 halo 2 had a great and easy to understand variable melee system
The variable melee damage would be cool to keep were it communicated in any way like through more powerful animations. But as it was in CE it felt totally random.
Marines being able to pilot vehicles has me ungodly levels of hyped. Edit: So I just finished the mod, and want to talk about the AI drivers. It seems marine drivers are programmed to advance only after you hit a certain point, instead of following closely behind you. For example, during AOTCR, the marines on foot follow closely behind you, but the marines in warthogs only follow when you advance to a certain point in the level. At first, I wasn't sure if this was a glitch, because I was moving forward and the AI warthogs were just standing still, not advancing with me. It took me a while to realize that this is intentional.
This isn't inherently a bad thing, but depending on your playstyle, you might find that you've killed most of the enemies in an encounter by the time the warthogs catch up with you. I like blasting enemies with the Scorpion from a distance, so I would often enter an area, blast the enemies, and move up. Only then would the warthogs arrive, with few/no enemies to fight.
This comment may sound harsh so I want to reemphasize just how much I'm loving the mod. There are a lot of moments that make me go "Wow, I can't believe they added that!" or "Wow this is cool."
@Dragonlope 😆
I mean they technically could pilot ghost already, but I see what you mean
@@whod74 Ghosts mean nothing tbh. Having AI hogs like 2 and 3 is a way bigger deal.
@Dragonlope I can't wait for halo 2!!
I’m assuming it’s an engine limitation because if you notice, the marines never actually freely drive around. They follow preset paths triggered by events, and once the event is over they just stop moving
This particular rebalance was probably the most fun and consistent experience I've ever had in CE. It kills me that your other mods don't work anymore (your Reach rebalance actually made that game fun), but the idea that you might remake them for the updated mod tools one day always keeps me coming back.
Halo 2 Rebalanced is coming. He live streams the development on CZcams.
Dude, the Marines having taken over the control room and still being there when Chief returns is like the coolest shit ever. I love that concept so much. I want to hope some of them are able to survive the events of the game but, well, unless you make it so that at the end of this that Longsword has a ton of extra space in it I know that isn't happening :(
I won’t a shed a non literal tear when wishing my marines goodbye on two betrayals. It really felt like a nice conclusion to their story that was sorely missing from the base game. The only thing I wish we had was an explanation of where all these troops and vehicles come from. As in the base game it really felt weird seeing all these marines and vehicles come out of thin air. Like yeah, you can assume the marines set up camp somewhere, but I would’ve rather seen that sorta thing.
Kinda like how in halo 2 you’re just supposed to assume the flood took over the UNSC ship without seeing how it happened.
In vanilla I never looked twice at that Control Room terrace when flying back down into the canyon but the mod turns it into such a immaculate set piece representing so much as you do that final flyby. That's some timing there.
The Marines you rescue very well could have been the survivors that end up in the Pelican with Johnson in the Flood novel
The way you modified the AR is basically what Halo 3 did with the weapon.
FUCK YES!!! I love your rebalance mods. You don’t try to leave your mark by drastically changing stuff and try to design things based on Bungie’s goals. You and Vengeful Vadam are the kings of Halo rebalance mods.
Love the enthusiasm
Ruby’s Rebalanced mods aren’t really my personal go tos, but as far as mods in general go, they are in a class of their own for how tasteful the changes and designs are.
a lot of his mods are broken due to the latest update unfortunately :(
Just finished playing this. This mod makes the flood genuinely TRULY scary. I'm still a little bit shook from what I just witnessed. This was singlehandedly the best experience I've ever had with CE. Thanks Ruby. Honestly, I feel like I might have missed stuff so I'm gonna go back and play it again!
I just finished mine today…the way it ramps up between 343 Guilty Spark and Keys, like every level displays more and more corruption? Really ties it in to Halo 2 and 3 the way original CE didn’t. And the added enemy and friendly AI all fighting each other tooth and nail. Spectacular.
@@Gillymonster18 yeah, it's pretty wild!
God, right? There were some areas where I was genuinely freaked-out. The added environmental storytelling really goes a long way in selling the horror of the Flood. I especially love how diverse the hordes are now, with different uniforms and armor: It really shows that your identity doesn’t matter to the Flood: We’re all meat.
You're a psychopath adding the elite vanguard. Played on legendary before watching this video. Next thing I know, a goddamn elite with an energy sword and a FUCKING ARM SHIELD catches me off guard and comes charging with violation in his eyes. Was absolutely glorious.
Dear Ruby,
I am writing to you from a small town in southern Italy: after playing the first versions (which unfortunately were no longer accessible due to the patches), I followed the development of this mod for months and months on twitter, waiting for it in a frantic way, as if was an official release. The video you released about it was so full of content, enthusiasm and love, it felt like I was seeing an old Bungie Vidoc. Love, that's the right word - this mod was made with love and meticulousness by a Halo fan for the Halo community. The commitment you put into completing this work is nothing short of touching, and it is tangible: together with Combat Revolved (which seems to me a bit like the little sister of your mod), the Ruby Rebalanced Halo CE is today the best mod available for this game. Unlike the SPV3 (which I still appreciated a lot, but it has strayed too far from the original concept of halo CE), your work has a much more "vanilla" and plausible feel: every addition and finishing seems to be in the right place at the moment. right, the enginners and the fauna in the second level upset me (I had a lot of fun triggering the creatures to kill the covenants), not to mention the addition of the new enemy ranks, the ODSTs (very competent) and the new vehicles (the shade is so sweet!) the new weapons (it's amazing how both the flamethrower and the fuel rod gun and energy blade look so natural in the arsenal of the old halo ce). Congratulations on having reused so many spaces that perhaps due to lack of time the bungie had not been able to optimize (the ghosts and banshees in the Silent Cartographer level fit perfectly! Not to mention the drivable banshee and the section above the island, the epic assault on the pyramid in the fifth level ...). Attention to detail is what makes the difference, all the environmental additions are very appreciable (the biomass flood is really fantastic, the macabre noises, as well as the forms infected with armor, the ODST flood, etc.). You managed to make the library level less boring than it originally is (although I was expecting some covenant flood conflict already there!), And in general you made the oppression of floods great, which is now finally evident unlike of vanilla. You can really see how the floods are taking over the situation in the last few levels, it's very distressing! Honorable mention for the elites with shields on their arms, a really nice touch that sprinkles 2001 from every pore!
To conclude, it seems to be in front of an official Halo CE Director Cut, the halo 1 that we have all seemed desired. Thank you very much for your work, we look forward for the next ones!
I really love these rebalances that are a real rebalance, rather than flooding the game with new weapon/enemy after another after another rather than just perfecting what is there, with some sprinkles on top. Also a neat touch that you can change the mission thumbnails, it never occured to me that the ones MCC uses are not the originals, tho it sucks it triggers anti-cheat because I wish i could keep them classic
Spv3 could have been this, but masterz went a little crazy with all the new content. Still a great mod, but I think this easily beats spv3 in terms of revisiting halo CE.
@@daddynolegs 100% agree, there's like a million different weapons for no reason and levels drag on because they're so much bigger. still a cool mod but doesn't keep that classic ce flow like this rebalance does
I am so hyped. One he finishes CE and 2 he can finally fix Halo 3!
Not only will he fix it, he'll make it twice as good.
@@typickoopakid Ruby really goes in with the classic Bungie era level of care for his mods. He doesn't just fix his mods when they break from updates, he updates them to coincide with his new skills and desire to see these games grow. Absolute legend.
@@gabethebabe3337 It's crazy how good this mod is. CE is one of my all time favorite games but this mod is such a big improvement over vanilla. I can't frickin wait to see what he does with 2 and 3.
@@typickoopakid same here along with odst and once reach and halo 4 get mod tools it'll be great to see what he'll have in store for reach rebalance and how he'll make halo 4 ten times more better gameplay wise
You have rectified the great sin, in my eyes, of two betrayals by giving marines a proper finish. Thank you.
Got a little bit emotional towards the end. Seeing all this new stuff and then thinking about replaying all the games once their respective mods come out really brought me back. I remember how excited I was for halo 3 to come out and felt that same twinge of excitement again.
Halo SVP3, while flawed, basically allowed me to experience Halo 1 from a different perspective. I'm hoping this mod can do the the same. Props to you for all your hard work Ruby!
As much as I appreciate the effort and thought put into SPV3, it just kinda felt like way too much stuff crammed into too small of a game… not to mention all the controversial changes made to CE’a gameplay loop. This mod is basically what I had hoped SPV3 would have been.
@@samlund8543 So then tweak SPV3
@@bloodyspartan300 Why bother? This mod now exists.
@@Phobos_Anomaly Conjecture mostly but as Ruby and others improve CE, Spv3 is a worthy effort. I also think the Library is awesome no matter how similar and boring it looks. Similar to fighting In a huge forest or Jungle . It all looks the same dreary as Hell, More than likely death lurks everywhere when you slack off. Randomness is what it really needed with more deceptive and coordinated enemies. I also prefer only the Grunts voices in the first game.Sometimes I actually fetl bad killing them, but I get over it when the little shrimps actually tag me. As for Plssma nade tossing I would give them a multiple pg launcher along wiith matching wisecracking quotes. Microshaft and the rest
Should have stopped there, they were perfect the head poping cheer, reminds me of some sick groomers nightmare wish.
OLD jujitsu saying in fighting, less is more. SOMETIMES as in life it truly is.
Almost everything today is Woke Marxist , or political theater , so when the few do something out of love and talent it should be lauded. If I was not an old broke bsstard I would pay these folk to fix the screwups of the rushed and ideological maroons, ad infinitum till they woke up and produced a worthy clone or sequel., Or paid folk like Ruby , Master and every other talented human who appreciate the artful entertainment created for us to enjoy, They then show respect for another's work and tweak it out of love and the same respect to give to others the good feelings they accrued, to grow it further. Ruby and the rest sow positive energy in the humans mental play aspect of thinking. Adding to life, Unlike that canker sore of a series about CMCHIEF, like a black hole it sucks all the energy out of entertainment or play . Neither adding to the Halo universe or our lives.
So I say why not ,apparently those who don't really get paid are far more entertaining, than those who do
@@bloodyspartan300 How is the cheering a sick groomer's wish? Anyway if you don't like it just don't turn on the skull. I enjoy SPV3 occasionally and I think it's a good project on its own, but the OP said that they wanted something closer to vanilla and this certainly fits the bill.
I'm gonna save this comment thread for feedback after I try this out.
I love the overall vision in keeping with original developer intent. I've always said modders have more passion than many of the large corporations that try and make "remasters" of games with no effort put into gameplay mechanics. Often times focusing solely on graphical fidelity, while straying too far from the original artstyle of a game.
Now onto feedback:
1. I'll start with the sniper, it probably could use more damage against vehicles considering the game manual itself specifically states it is used as an "anti-material rifle".
2. more feedback later...
After playing up to the level 343GS...
Mostly everything added is a net positive. Basically that second paragraph still applies. Color me impressed. I have high standards for QoL and game rebalances. The playtesters and the people adding to your mod all did fantastic work! I'll be sure to check out the other rebalance mods for the latter Halo games!
As always, I really appreciate how in depth you go with your rebalances, tackling QOL from many different angles and deconstructing mechanics we've all grown accustomed to - even down to minutia like weapon impulses and such!
Also making marines pilot any human vehicle...makes me wish Infinite would take notes
This has been an absolute delight to play through. Things I never thought I would see in CE. I only used to imagine my marines driving as a kid but rolling through AOTR with a convoy has got to be one of my all time favorite halo memories. Seeing ODST reinforcements literally dropping into combat, the wildlife, all the small details - this mod is one of the best ways to play CE bar none.
AOTR - Assault On The Room
"Oh hi grunt"
Hasn't even premiered yet and I'm so wound up! I've been hitting refresh on the NexusMods page most of the afternoon. A Legendary mod for a Legendary game!
Sir, what you have done here should be the basis of any Remake for CE, if such a thing would ever be to come
Something I always thought about and wondered if it could be possible is having the flames from the flamethrower make the enemies panic as if they were stuck with a plasma grenade. That panic animation is so cool, I wish literally any other halo game put a panic animation in for plasma nade sticks. It kinda makes sense why they didn’t bother with panic animations seeing that they reduced the detonation time, but it still was a really cool animation that I always wanted to return. Same thing with the jackal combat roll.
Edit: it turns out the grunts actually do panic when burned by the flamethrower. So cool! I haven’t seen the other species do it but that feature alone makes it my favorite iteration of the CE flamethrower. This mod actually feels like it could’ve been the released product, it’s really incredible what Ruby and the other talented modders did with this game.
Did a playthrough of this mod recently, the Library changes alone made it worth it
The rebalanced mods are so thoughtful and well designed compared to all other redesign mods ive seen and were a big part to my enjoyement of the halo series. I thank you wholeheartadly, and the team for your contributions. And considering the scale of this particular mod and it being a reason to try out CE, as i found it rather boring before, you've become my first patreon subscribtion.
Thanks so much!
@@RubyofBlue thank u for loving Halo so much. I adore Halo to the point of tears when I hear the OG soundtrack. I can’t express how enamoured I am with this central part of my childhood. With that I don’t have the expertise or knowledge to do what u and all the other models have accomplished. It’s titanic, glorious, literally. Ur pure love for this extremely important medium is so intense and thoughtful that I can’t even begin to tel u how much I appreciate it. This video literally has me on the verge of tears….as a 30yo construction working bogan. God man I cannot wait to play this. Thank u, from the bottom of our hearts ♥️
This blew away my already high expectations, amazing work. You straight up *perfected* CE with this. Not a single change I disagree with, and does everything I was wanting you hadn't done yet. I straight up might even introduce my friends who haven't played Halo yet to CE with this enabled, even if it's not the OG experience. I legit cheered when I saw the Shadow and Engineers and cut wildlife show up. If your eventual updates to Halo 2 rebalanced will match this in scope, then oh man, I'm gonna be ecstatic, and REALLY would love to playtest it (crossing my fingers for the High charity warthog run restoration Blackdimund made to be worked in!).. The only potential feedback/suggestions I have is firstly, if you could fix the broken music triggers in MCC on Two Betrayals (you may have already, actually!), and that with the reduced spread on some weapons, I think it'd help them be more intuitive if their reticule had an added, smaller circle to indicate their new lower minimum spread radius.
I'd also add that the sound of your footprints is a little too exaggerated in this mod, but this is such a small thing, it's barely worth mentioning. Just wondered if anyone else felt that way. Being a heavy almost 300 pound spartan can do that though...
I thought Chief was close to half a ton in his Mjonir?
But what do I know about powered assault armor 4 centuries into the future...
yeah man ive introduced people to h1 with this mod and then a few months later i show them some base h1 footage and they are are like wtf this looks so unfinished lmao
You're basically the remastered version of Halo:CE that we wanted (with maybe AI upscaled textures). Thank you for keeping the spirit and fun intact.
long time user of your mods, "medium" time viewer. I appreciate everything you do. You look at a game you love, consider the strengths and weaknesses of the systems implemented and strengthen them. I salute you sir, I am not currently, but will soon become a patreon supporter. Thank you for your hardwork and dedication to this beloved series!
Halo CE Rebalanced was updated. I will list some of the gameplay changes.
The sentinel beam can be used by the player upon neutralizing a sentinel.
The flamethrower has better knockback and is more accurate.
The energy sword has better hit detection, and its lunge deals more damage.
Words cant explain how amazed by this mod i am, its so rare to find people who understand halo so purely for what it is these days, and on top of that to make a refined, lore friendly and absolutely fresh revamp of a long time masterpiece.
The loss of so many awesome MCC mods due to its constant updates saddened me a great deal. It's so good to see that they haven't been abandoned and can come back bigger and better than ever before. Can't wait for the revival of your other rebalances!
Your rebalances of the Halo games have left me beyond impressed me every single time, so I'm overjoyed to see them come back. You have a genuine talent as a game designer with an incredible intuition for creating games that offer not just breadth in variety, but depth in mechanics. You deserve the best, and I hope some day you're able to apply these skills professionally.
A little embarrassing to admit, but I actually just finished CE's campaign for the first time the other day (I'd played snippets of it on other people's xboxes, but never completed it, or done it solo), and this mod seems like it strives to improve on pretty much all the nitpicks I had on my mind after I was done playing. Can't wait to try this for a second playthrough!
BRO this is now a LEGENDARY FPS
Had no idea I missed this! Gonna do a run of heroic with the lite and the with the full mod on legendary
Watching this video has made me more excited than any game trailer in the past decade! Thank you for everything you do, I've replayed every halo campaign with your rebalances and they make me feel like a kid again. You're a blessing man
You know, I actually kinda liked the "normal reddish-yellow" explosion and fire on Covie vehicles. Somehow felt meaty and grounded. Kinda missed that in future Halos. A mix of plasma in the beginning and regular burning flame afterwards would be a perfect combo in my opinion.
I always thirsty for more CE mod that make "fitting" looking addition to the game like Ce + not so much Spv3.
So your new Ce rebalance really bring my dream come true.
This is why I plan on going into game development. The sheer sophistication capable from such small things is incredible. I especially love the part about CE's interconnected sandbox.
That assault rifle adjustment looks amazing. Anything too far outside CQC felt like a waste of bullets with that gun sometimes. I loved the mid/ long range utility of the BR in Halo 2 but missed the rundown spray and pray badassery that the assault rifle offered so this feels like a great marriage of the two.
It reminds me a little bit of H3s assault rifle with its accuracy when burst firing.
In Halo 2 Rebalanced, will you add CE's stun mechanic to the Plasma RIfle? Maybe even burn damage to the Brute Plasma Rifle?
Yes! The CE stun on the PR carried me through the library CO-OP legendary. So weird that they cut it in future halos.
The stun actually doesn't do anything in Campaign afaik; only vs players in MP. Any stun effect you felt in Campaign was purely placebo - AI getting knocked back by the PR is just standard 'hard ping' from a certain amount of damage.
@@spicey4522 guess you’re insane
@@RubyofBlue It's a strong placebo in that case because it does seem to make Elites basically stop aiming at me, stop strafing, and stop dodge rolling when they're getting hit by it.
There's more creativity, care, love, and balance in this one mod than everything 343 has done put together.
Absolutely badass.
Really happy to see this finally come out!! Was a blast being around for the development streams and offering suggestions (I got so excited seeing that Sword sticking out of the Flood corpse, haha) -- really looking forward to playing this, and to the continued development of the Rebalanced mods.
Thank you so much for this masterful work! I just finished playing through this, only to find out there was even more to discover! Absolutely BRILLIANT work on this; practically every change is a MASSIVE improvement.
I especially adore the changes you made to the Flood: Giving each combat form different armor and uniforms really highlights the horror of assimilation, and the environmental changes you added to Flood-infested areas really sell the fact that they consume EVERYTHING far better than the original did. Your improvements have made the Flood FUCKING TERRIFYING, and I cannot praise your work enough! The way you made the most repetitive levels in the game varied and consistently fun is also nothing short of incredible.
There are some small critiques I have, like some of the musical cues overlapping where they shouldn’t, how you can no longer take Banshees to the Control Room, and how the Covenant could’ve gotten Wraiths into the Library, but those are just nitpicks. This is now my definitive way to play my favorite Halo game, and it feels like what the game could have been if Bungie had been given more time. Brilliant job!
Just finished it with your mods: beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Especially with the way you changed Two Betrayals and on forward. The way you changed the Library too. So much less dull and repetitive. Really sells the aspect of all out war and how dangerous the flood is in a way the standard game doesn’t.
I only found this mod recently, but playing through it has been so amazing. It truly feels like what bungie intended and especially with the Flood, it feels so realistic and much more immersive. Seeing the quick spread of the Flood feels actually real and the Flood seems so much more dangerous. All the Flood variants are amazing, all the biomass that builds and gets more present in every environment, it truly makes everything seem more real. Just damn. I've always loved the Flood but the situation never seemed dire in vanilla Halo. But this makes it so apparent how dangerous the Flood really is, and how fast it grows when uncontrolled. The gravemind Easter egg freaked me out in the armory on the Maw. Generally you made the Flood much more scary, and specifically you made me fear the Flood again like when I was little. The added sounds in certain areas and the build up of 343 Guilty Spark had me afraid to turn the corners. A few jumpsares too... gah. Sorry for the rant. This mod is truly amazing and gave me the best Halo experience I've ever had. I seriously can't wait for Halo 2 and the others as well. Keep up your amazing work, I love you so much 💓 this is how Halo was meant to be!
Can I install this mod to halo combat evolved but the original game alone? No master chief collection?
I find this very inspiring actually. Many tweaks are very small and seem inconsequential on their own, but they add up to make a much improved gameplay experience. This kind of thinking applies to more than just video games - it applies to life in general.
This mod has given me something I've wished for countless times. To feel the way I did the first time I ever played Halo. Thank you so much for that, it honestly means a lot.
3:37 Aw Cat:))
WOOOOO! yea! its been a long time coming man. great job. the entire community is Proud of ya.
thank you~
Can’t lie, your rebalanced and modded library mission was the funnest campaign mission I’ve ever played. And I’ve been a halo nerd since ‘05.
If you play this mod, you really should consider donating to the patreon. I am going to.
Absolutely amazing I can’t wait to see the rest of the campaigns redone over the coming months and years.
This is actually amazing. The changes and adjustments here are so well thought out. Can't wait to try it out.
Been playing through the mod now, in my 10+ years of playing CE specifically, with so many modded campaigns out of the way, this has to be one of my very favorite ones! Such a terrific breath of fresh air shot straight into my favorite game. It's simple and it's pretty perfect
I find it hard to believe this is really happening. Ruby. You are amazing. Keep up your amazing work.
Even tho I've yet to play this (and way too early for me to say this), I can't wait to see and play your update for Halo 2 Rebalanced.
Bro I got to play your rebalanced 3 while it was still available, it was hands down the most fun I’ve ever had playing halo and you added everything I ever wanted and everything I never knew I wanted. I had 0 complaints, keep up the good work brother I love your mods and can’t wait until halo 3 rebalanced is up and running again
combat forms having rank appro. colors is a fat change, probably my favorite in this video
I’m crying man, I just got back into Halo just yesterday too. THANK YOU MAN
I'm so glad I found this. YT randomly recommended me your latest stream where you're modding Halo 2 and it prompted me to take a peek at your videos. I LOVE what you've done with this mod and I cannot wait to try it. I didn't know MCC worked with Steam workshop and that a mod like this existed!
If this is the approach you take with every rebalanced, then I can't wait to see the rest of them
I'm only in the opening and already I want to play this thingie. If this team has been spending at least 4-5 years working on this, it's basically like being 1997 original Bungie with 17 employees bringing a demo to Microsoft in 1999.
when I was a kid this is all I thought Halo lacked. I'm so excited to try it out!
12:05
Reach Sniper really sounding like it's gonna dislocate your shoulder upon firing.
Just found Linda-058's sniper rifle and her cryo room.
This mod is awesome, thank you :D
Absolutely Legendary. Totally worth the wait. I will be playing the moment it drops ;)
Never in my life until now have I thought, "You know, I'm kind of itchin' to play the Library again."
You could've titled this "Evolving the Combat in Combat Evolved"
This mod is much better than SPV3. SPV3 is more like quantity over quality. Some levels also looks washed out.
Petition to make Ruby's rebalanced mod into official updates for MCC
I'd like it to be offered as an alternative but not to be forced as a replacement.
I've been following this process on your Twitter for a few months now, and I am so happy it's finally come around. I'm always blown away by your attention to detail, it really shows the love you must have for this game. You and the rest of the team working on this mod have absolutely outdone yourselves, and I'm gonna enjoy every second of my playthrough.
Take your seat upon your throne, King. You've earned your rest.
Waited for this since you announced it earlier this year! I thank you and the other modders for all the hard work and care that has put into this project. SUPPORT THIS MANS PATREON IF YOU CAN! Can't wait for 2 and especially 3 rebalance.
He already did a halo 3 rebalance
@@TheAlmightySPAA yes but it's broken same with halo 2
Your mods are literally the best way to improve the games...
You make the whole thing feel better without taking away from the initial spirit of the games
This is really well done. Soon I will start playing through the original Halos with my oldest son and I hope to use one of your rebalanced mods. Thx for all of this.
Fun Fact when I learned the AR was more of a shotgun than a Rifle I went with short trigger pulls to give me somewhat controlled bursts instead of full auto in most cases. I actually would sit for hours trying to get quick enough to only fire a single bullet. Couldn't get good enough to do that consistently though.
you have made many of my 7 year old self childhood dreams come true here my man, thank you!
Holy shit dude, you didn't have to do this, now we have this for the rest of our lives. Good work!! and I'm super excited to see how you do halo 2!
I finished this on heroic last week and had a really great time with it. It just made the game feel more robust and thought through. the end of the game actually felt more finished than vanilla rather than different.
I love that I was laying on my bed with my cat when it cut to you petting your cat
9:28 Melee in Halo CE and 2 used the Marathon system, where you would do more damage the faster you were moving when you melee’d the enemy.
Oh hell yeah, this is awesome, I love that the MCC devs really care about halo's modding scene, and are offering tools much better than custom edition. I can't wait for steam workshop support too. Halo modding is at its peak with MCC.
Im so happy to see the crimson elite with arm shield in the game
Me to and it was even a great Chad move for him to make it a new elite rank that's higher then zealot
I literally cheered when the ODST's appeared on the screen! This delightful mod is a breath of fresh air!
The only thing I'd like to see added is that satisfying shotgun cock after every reload, like Combat Revolved. Like how Halo 3 and Reach have after every reload.

This point sticks out to me more knowing that on Legendary, each level has a series of additional bonus weapons hidden around (usually empty, so you have to find ammo for them throughout the level), which a lot of the time feel like a sort of puzzle; incentivising you to explore the levels more for extra goodies, some ranging from clever to devious.
They do?
I’ve waited so long! I’m so excited for this new release, you’re a hero Ruby.
Me and my little bro just did a full play through today. 🤘 Absolutely awesome work, was a fantastic time! I admire the little changes and some of the easter eggs ya put in. Thank ya for the work ya did. I know it's much appreciated by a large chunk of people. ✌
While I love the change to the Flood to allow the Sniper Rifle to be useful against them I always saw it being ineffective against Flood a cool little bit of storytelling to show that the Sniper rounds are so powerful at destroying the internal organs that it does nothing against Flood due to the lack of internal organs that are actually important to the life of the Flood
The Sniper only kills them when you hit their infection form cores ^^
The sniper rifle would literally rip them apart though look at what a .50 BMG does to soft tissue and the Halo Sniper Rifle shoots a bullet that isn’t even legal to own without a destructive weapons permit as in an even more powerful round.
Honestly my interest in Halo has waned over the years, but your mods have done so much to re-ignite my love for Halo. Thank you.
Same here especially with the cut content being added in and seeing stuff from later games used as inspiration for the mod to
Waiting for months for this to happend and it was so worth it
So I’ve been waiting for this to come out since the first addition video on Twitter! Such a well done video that the long form format felt like 10minutes - loved every second and can’t wait to play and replay this amazing mod to my favourite campaign.
Now, what would be cool, though I imagine quite a hassel to add, if the different multiplayer skins/customisation was an option to enable in the campaign when playing with a buddy. Different colored Spartans would be the absolute drip to play with.
You and the rest of the team who helped work on this are so incredible talented and do your job really well. I really don't have the words to show appreciative I am that you do the work that you do, but I'm glad you enjoy it.
A true masterpiece of modding, your attention to detail and getting things to feel as it should of always been this way is amazing!!!
How well-tested is this mod for co-op? This looks absolutely incredible. I'm so stoked that the modding scene got real official mod tools from 343i.
Big props to you and your team! Downloaded this morning, and it’s a thing of artistry. I’m searching every corner of every map and playing like I haven’t in a very long time.

HYPE! I’ve been waiting on this mod to come out, you make edits to halo that feel halo and not some random. Cant wait to play this
When a combat form dies for real, a twitching animation plays as they enter rigor mortis. When they're introduced CE briefly transforms into a horror game, requiring utmost focus on enemy behavior to know when you're safe. If you don't have time to watch for the tell, you're forced to live in fear of whether they'll get back up while you deal with more pressing matters
Part of what made the original Warthog so difficult to control was its traction - or lack thereof. The unique handling model was what inspired Halo's original transition to more of an action game, so I guess they didn't want to sacrifice that. Later games show they decided they maybe overdid it a bit, especially with Halo 2 completely reversing course and making it a grippy offroad monster. Since Halo players generally aren't expected to be drift kings,I think reducing the slipperiness to a more reasonable level would help to keep things intuitive
Where did the narrative that the splatter damage was a necessary evil due to engine limitations on speed calculations come from? It's so engrained into the lore of the Halo community that some even began to think the engine was useless for a modern player's first time experience because of all the jank it allegedly caused
My favorite part of your mods is that it isn't always immediately apparent that I'm playing a modded game. It feels right. I'm a purist and so I'm not gonna run this mod every time I play but some of the most fun I've ever had playing through this series was with your rebalances. Especially Halo 2. I really fucking hope you update your Halo 2 mod. That shit felt like the definitive H2 experience to me.
I just wish it was possible to complete my challenges while playing this since I'd probably use it far more then. Maybe when Steam Workshop is added we'll have the option to play "challenge friendly" mods. I doubt it but it'd be cool.
As a lore nerd I love the change to the AR, in multiple books they reference it being accurate if fired in bursts or semi auto
You can never receive enough praise for the work you put into for these mods. Theyre incredible. Literally the only downside is that now we have to wait for the other rebalances to get updated. But Im unbelievably excited to see what you do with the other games. Love your stuff, dude!
