- EDIT- For those still finding this video, years later, trying to troubleshoot you issues... Mine ended up being one of the wires connected to the kill switch. Sometimes jiggling the throttle would bump the wirign harness enough to get it to 'connect' again. Simple fix, replaced the terminal, good to go. 600 some odd hours since this video, no major issues to date. Knock on wood!

Did you figure it out? Why do people post problems but never come back what their fix/ solution is!?!?
The gear position swith on the engine is out of pos.Easy fix.
ThNk u I had Sam issue pull down on throttle
Your throttle is just not hitting the neutral switch just hold down on the throttle pushing towards reverse while turning your key
What was the diagnosis?
Had the same problem, was out on the water running wot the a power fall off to 3k made it back to dock and sit it off. Tried to restart and had the same identical problem. After some checking of usual problems found that' the neutral safety switch on the motor had fallen apart. Located next to the linkage below the intake manifold.
Joe Tabulka can you give me a little more detail where this would be?
The Problem we had, we broke the Micro Button in the consol, so He want Start, because He wasnt neutral, look in consol!!
Hi all im getting the same problem both engine anyone can help please
Bad earth on main battery wire coming from engine salt water has done damage
Did you ever figure out what the problem was my boat is doing the exact same thing and I have the exact same motor
yes I did I went out and bought a new motor
Did you figure it out?
These motors have natural safety switch on motor as well as console shifter. You can bypass it but would expect if it did start it wouldn't go past 2000 rpms. Due to safety reasons.
Blame it on the 400 hour Suzuki engine that passed pre-start self test.... LOL! Title of video should be "Boat that wont start because some bonehead improperly installed wiring during installation". That will draw the correct audience group.
Common Suzuki four stroke.. go to your battery.. there will be a white wire with an inline fuse15 amp I think ,, there will be a roll of extra wire.. the problem is the inline fuse corroded cut it out and replace with an new waterproof fuse holder
james bond can you help me out with my Suzuki 2017 df70?
Just encountered the same problem today with my DF140. Did you figure the issue out? Neutral safety switch?
Shawn McNew Yeah. Ended up being the connector had come loose. Was a male/female connection, was still touching, but when I'd hit wake or whatever would break connection.
Mike Stein where is that connection located I have the same issue.
ralph504948 hi did you fix your issue with your DF140? I am having the same problem now.. please help
Dear Mike....where is that connector is ,,,in motor or in boat???
Suziki 140. Same problem. I messed with the throttle. It started like a champ. Thx for the advice everyone, back to the lake!!!
You have over 4k hours on it!
No, at the time the video was made, that is like 425 hours. 4k hours would jump the 4 first, then down, then back up to the hundreds.
Your throttle is just not hitting the neutral switch just hold down on the throttle pushing towards reverse while turning your key
Had the same problem with my df140. It was the neutral position wsithch on the motor it broke off completely.
@@joetabulka2250 was it a easy fix to replace the neutral switch?
