  • When engine RPM limiter kicks in , it means ,something important is wrong with your engine . limiter does not allow rpm above 3000 rpm. Oil chang remider makes beeping sound and oil light stays on solid . pull the kill switch 3 times in 10 sec to reset the oil change remider . long beep means you completed the task.

If you race the engine by going high and low on rpm quickly you get the rev limiter.. this is what the service book says
      Over-Revolution Caution System
      Condition:
      Yes
      Yes
      Yes
      Yes
      Yes
      No
The ECM controlled over revolution limiter will engage at the engine speeds shown below. Once engaged it will initiate
an intermittent fuel injection signal to reduce engine speed.
      Over revolution limiter
      DF100A/115A: 6 200 r/min.
      DF140A: 6 500 r/min.
      Action:
      Engine speed
      • Automatically reduced to approx. 3 000 r/min. by an intermittent fuel injection signal.
      • If the operator decreases the engine speed below the over revolution system maximum
preset value, within 10 seconds, the over-revolution caution control will be canceled.
      Caution lamp
      Caution buzzer
      Reset:
      “REV-LIMIT” lamp lights continuously.
      No buzzer sounds.
Close the throttle to reduce the engine speed below approx. 3 000 r/min for one second.
      1A-8 Engine Control:
      Low Oil Pressure Caution System
      Condition:
Immediate activation of the system when the oil pressure switch is turned “ON” due to an engine oil pressure drop
below 100 kPa (1.0 kg/cm2, 14 psi.) while the engine is running.
      Action:
      Engine speed
      • Automatically reduced to approx. 1 000 r/min. maximum by an intermittent fuel
      injection signal.
      • The engine automatically stops 3 minutes after the caution system is activated.
      Caution lamp
      Caution buzzer
      • “OIL” lamp lights continuously.
      • “REV-LIMIT” lamp lights continuously during engine speed rev-limiter
      activation (1 000 r/min, or higher).
      • Sounds in a series of long (1.5 sec.) beeps.
      NOTE
If the engine is automatically stopped due to the caution system, the engine can be started again.
However, the caution system will repeatedly activate until the cause is eliminated.
      Reset:
Stop the engine and check the engine oil level. Refill the engine oil to the correct level if it is below the low oil level
      mark.
If the engine oil level is correct, the following causes may be considered:
      • Improper oil viscosity.
      • Malfunctioning oil pressure switch.
      • Clogged oil strainer or oil filter.
      • Worn oil pump relief valve.
      • Oil leakage from the oil passage.
      • Excessive wear/damage of oil pump.
      NOTE
The low oil pressure caution system will reset when the oil pressure is restored to over 100 kPa (1.0
kg/cm2, 14 psi.) at approx. 1 000 r/min. or less engine speed operation.
The engine must be stopped and checked immediately once the system is activated

I was out yesterday (2017 DF115 with 800 hours) and got the flashing check engine light and a single group of 6 audible beeps, repeating. The flashing light is not following the beep code. I was running at 4200 rpm and I slowed and it went away after a few minutes then came back and then went away. The RPM stayed up so it was not critical. Cannot seem to find out what it means. Ideas??

if exhaust temp changes too fast it can Triger an alarm . you get that by ravening up then stopping then reeving up again.. system will go to 3000 rpm then it will correct it self that is just one example of triggering an alarm. .too many sensors on board . watch the video good info czcams.com/video/kDIvnUZD4P0/video.html

Hello friend, I have a question for you. I have a suzuki 225 2010 that for the first time I had a problem. When I turn on the key, its beep is low and when I turn it on it does nothing, but on the tacometer it shows the Ck engine flashing 4 times, it pauses and flashes 2 more times. In your experience it could be those codes that it shows on the screen.

4-2 is ckp sensor on 140 engines should be the same for your engine - engine appears to run normal and it is not restricted mode of 3000rpm or less - I am not a Mechanic ,I just fix my boat reading the book. it is under the flywheel air intake side and one inch below flywheel . clean it and may work for you. flywheel cover needs to come off to be able to see it . tracks how fast flywheel is turning or moving possibley using magnets - every time magnet goes by it is one turn clean both sides flywheel and sensor side . 30 minut job-no need to take off flywheel just the cover
You can buy a book from e bay for your engine very cheap. cars have them as well read this

sensor and reluctor bar on flywheel, then tighten
      sensor mounting screws securely.
      CKP sensor air gap “a”

    • @boashna
      @boashna  Před 3 lety +1

how many beeps - one one , two two .. it is like morse code - oil change reminder every hundred hours and high voltage are most common. when rpm does not go over 3000 rpm needs immediate attention and in your case it is a warning . High voltage is not a big deal . if I recalled I operated one engine for 500 hours with high voltage near 16 volt . if you use the boat everyday with high voltage , it will damage the battery . double beep with oil light on is change oil.. 1-1 is high voltage .in the video I show the codes.

I watched your video - voltage at 16 volt gives a high voltage one beep - check your voltage- if you do not have a voltmeter your chartplotter can be set up to show voltage using overlay options ( complicated task) . If you push the ignition in then turn it resets the alarm .

    • @boashna
      @boashna  Před 3 lety +1

fully charged battery is 13.2 volt and alarm is telling me the voltage is too high I believe 16volt or higher. Your electronics can handle high voltage . your battery is being charged all the time non stop. since my battery was low all the time I operated for about 500hrs with high voltage with no problem. if you boat couple times a week it can overcharge your battery and damage the battery.

buzz sound every 5 sec is
      Oil Change Reminder System Description
      CENDG2111101007
This system informs the operator that it is time to change
the ENGINE OIL based on the recommended
      maintenance schedule.
When the total motor operating hours has reached the
pre-programmed hours, the “OIL” lamp will flash, and the
buzzer will begin a series of double beeps if the engine
is not running (but ignition switch is “ON”).
The above mentioned indication will repeat until the
      activated system is manually canceled.
      NOTE
This system will activate up to 2 100 hour’s
      operation.
      Indication of System Activation
      Buzzer
      Oil lamp
      Cancellation Procedure
      1) Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position.
      2) Remove the emergency stop switch plate (1).
      3) Pull out the emergency stop switch knob (2) three
      times in ten seconds.
A short beep will be heard if the cancellation is
      successful.
      4) Turn the ignition key to the “OFF” position.
      5) Set the emergency stop switch plate (1) into the
      original position.
      NOTE
      • Cancellation of the system is possible
whether or not the engine oil has been
      replaced.
Once the system has been activated,
      SUZUKI strongly recommends that the
engine oil be replaced before canceling the
      system.
      • If the engine oil has been replaced with the
system not activated, it is still necessary to
      perform the cancellation procedure to
reset the Oil Change Reminder System

describe the alarm and light. does it happen when engine is cold, or does it happen when engine is warm. lowering engine makes fuel get to engine
easier so if there is no alarm a dirty fuel filter or primer needs to be squeezed.
