    Proving once again that they COULD make reusable pads for the vac mop but choose not to. Thanks for the hack. I’m doing this.

    Handiwipes or fresh dryer sheets work better for covering the vacuum chamber. They hold in the debri while allowing air to flow and not over heat the vacuum. Also, the dryer sheets give out a nice scent while vacuuming. 🙂

      @@whimsofkim I change them out after a few uses. When they seem to be getting dirty enough to block airflow. I haven't tried anything other than the velcro.

    I actually did my own hack last night! I love that you made this video. FYI, if you look at the pad that you pulled off the plastic canister has a “Flap” that acts as a baffle for the canister so that your debris (especially dust and small pieces) do not fall out.
    I tried the Dryer sheet on top of it and it works amazing too. I did however keep the original “fabric” from the disposable one with the flap on it and just used Velcro to allow me to pull it up.
    I originally covered the pad that was included with plastic and duct tape to make sure that it was waterproof. I then added Velcro to it so that I could easily change the pad but, it keeps the “original pad size” and I can also ensure that I do not use a pad that is too thin that will allow the vac canister to rub on the floor.
    If you spray laundry starch inside the canister and on the fabric you use and let it dry… it will repel the dust and particles and allow for easier and faster dumping.
    Hope all these additional Hacks help someone else too! 😌

      Very helpful Kim thank you for sharing. I’ve been looking at buying the vacmop for awhile now. Prices range from $50.00 online to $90.00 at Koles. I never expected to find one at Goodwill for $4.00, but It didn’t have the charger which I bought for $15.00 online. I hadn’t looked at the cost of Sharks Vacmop pads until after I bought everything. Not only was I surprised at how expensive they are, but I can’t stand the idea of all the plastic trash in our land fills, let alone single use plastic. Shame on money hungry companies for not caring about our beautiful planet Earth. 🤷‍♀️

    • @gheebuttersnaps2011
      @gheebuttersnaps2011 Před 2 lety +1

      Really? They're $22.77 for 30 on Amazon. Shark says you can use the same pad for more than one use so let's say you use this everyday and you replace the pad every other day that's $11.50 a month. But you probably wouldn't use it everyday so if you use it every other day and replace the pad after every other use that's $5.75 a month.

      @@gheebuttersnaps2011 bahahaha you must not have toddlers or babies crawling around! Trust I go through 2 a day easily as well! And if you're buying the pads from the store like Walmart or target they are $9.99 for 10 and $16.99 for 16. So yeah they are like $1 a piece. Which in my house would be roughly $60 a month and I bought the whole thing for $70 soooo yeah.

Walmart and Lowes show it is there if you google but it is not when you go there. Sooo for me this is a great contribution and I don't have to chuck something I paid good money! "Product is out of stock" won't be an issue anymore thanks!

    It would seem the cover over the vacuum compartment needs to filter and be able to pass suction. Any type of cloth might be problematic. You can carefully peel back the edges of the existing filter cover, the remaining adhesive will work to seal it up after emptying.
