Great band and great reaction as usual, Jamel. The brothers are all together and that's the spirit of this song. All the good humans in that room together.
Yup. GMO, high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated fats and seed oils, msg, nitrates. They didn’t use any of that shite except nitrates in the food. Back then, McDonald’s food actually rotted!
This is the best rock song ever. I wish you would listen to the album version, however. Yes, the live shows were fantastic, but thei albums were out of this world. This song deserves it. Thanks for listening to the dogs.
Band name refers to what it takes to keep you warm on the frontier during a cold night - three dogs! Great spiritual song to see you react to with your brothers.
Man...the music back around the early seventies was SOOOOO GOOD ! Back in 73' there was David Bowie , Elton John , Alice Cooper , Iggy Pop , Steppin' Wolf , YES , Emerson Lake and Palmer , Leon Russell , James Taylor , Carly Simon ( pure magic ) , Janis Joplin , Joni Mitchell ( her voice is angelic ) , Linda Ronstadt (absolutely AMAZING ) and OH MY GOODNESS the best Soul music ever made . I was 13 and running a morning paper route before school and an evening route after school ...it was an amazing time ! PK
I was like 9. Grew up on this and a thousand other great songs like this!! 1960s-70s. Love & peace spread out (somewhat) after the strife of the 60s subsided.
Three Dog Night has been a long time favorite of mine. I remembering hearing this, Black and White, Momma Told Me Not to Come, and Joy to the World on the radio when I was a kid. Such good memories.
I once heard the singer say the song was Shangri-La the mythical city in Asia. He dropped acid before he went to the studio and couldn’t get the lyric’s right so they kept it.
Well since they did not write the song. Daniel Moore did. They covered it brilliantly but the lyrics were always Shambala. See the B W Stevenson version which preceeded TDN.
Great video! There's a video that has a mini concert show with this included! Good choice! What about some Grass Roots reactions? Temptation Eyes or Two Divided By Love💃
Now listen to My Maria by B. W. Stevenson. It's the same song slightly tweaked with different lyrics. Stevenson released Shambala weeks before Three Dog Night did. Even made the Billboard top 100. But when TDN's version was released it shot up the charts and Stevensons version was forgotten. Stevenson then teamed up with Daniel Moore, who wrote Shambala, and tweaked it into My Maria. It was a huge hit and was an even bigger hit when Brooks and Dunn covered it years later.
Shambala is a place of equality, the Utopia a place where we all work together to create a perfect harmony of peace and love. Where all of man's burdens are shared equally through the love of each other. What if we all went to work and produced all the things we know how to make and it was all free. That is the question young people were asking back then. We create our own reality, why is gold more valuable than another thing? It is because we want it that way.
DEFINITELY there was a lot of spiritualism in the hippie movement! My hat goes off to all the hippies who had to work thru all the old school ways of worshipping and finding truth in the alternative of the day hippie movement! Thank you for spreading all that love and respect for our world! Keep it groovy! ☮️ ✌️ ❤️ 🕊
Crazy Jamal! Just last night I watched a three dog night 2001 concert they gave backed up by an orchestra ❤️ check it out, decades later their voices were Fantastick, unbelievable how they can carry the notes, please watch it, you'll like it 😆
Always loved these guys and for some reason randomly this song came to mind and I had to see if you reacted to it. I actually got to see one of the original members, Chuck Negron , he’s the one with the real high voice, sing at the Midland fair in Midland Michigan. Btw, you guys should try singing together for real. You seem to have good harmony.
Shambhala, according to Buddhist tradition, is a mythical kingdom that is said to exist somewhere between the Himalaya Mountains and the Gobi Desert. In Shambhala, all of the citizens have achieved enlightenment, so it is the embodiment of Tibetan Buddhist perfection. This legend inspired the 1933 novel “Lost Horizon,” by English writer James Hilton, who modified the name of the place to "Shangri-La." The novel later became the basis for the 1937 feature film of the same name, directed by Frank Capra.
The music of the '70s had it all! It brought people together....and still does! I work at a gas station (and I'm 54...so much for white privilege!), not a great neighborhood but not the worst. Point being is that every walk of life comes through that door. And I don't see this rampant racism the media wants you to believe. Thank you so much for another great video!
Three Dog Night is a quite spiritual band of no specific religious affiliation. Moreso all of 'em. Thus combining hallelujah (western tradition) with Shambala (eastern tradition). From Jesus to Hindu gurus to Buddha, they like it all.
I Love this song, and remember when it first came out. I'm very sorry to disappoint you, though. The lyrics are not Hallelujah, they're: Ah ooh yeah Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah Ah ooh yeah Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Put on the bell bottoms & long white girl wigs and let 3 Dog Night sing!😂😂 Lipsinc tour! Allehuyah😎 You'll book a tour in a snap! Just DON'T SING! ❤😅😅😅We'll come to see ya as long as you play the record.🤞👌✌😂
They're not saying "hallelujah". "Wash away my troubles Wash away my pain With the rain in Shambala Wash away my sorrow Wash away my shame With the rain in Shambala Ah ooh yeah Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah Ah ooh yeah Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah"
Why are you choosing these terrible recordings to react to? The studio version would've been much better. I know you have trouble with demonitizing, but bro these terrible live versions don't do you any service.
Not sure if you bro's are near Santa Ynez CA. If so...George Clinton and Parliament are playing on March 4 At the Chumas Indian casino.. Perfect opportunity to wear ya platforms, bellbottoms etc.. Guaranteed a Funky Good time..🎸🎼🕶 ❤
So awesome to see young men of your generation grooving to my generation's music. And understanding it.
RIP Floyd Sneed. We just recently lost our original drummer.
RIP
RIP Floyd 🙏
Another of Canada's underrated musicians... and Tommy Chong's brother-in-law and former bandmate to boot!
Greetings from Oregon. Didn't know that. RIP Floyd
How could anyone not love this song.
It's upbeat, and burns a hole in your ear. You'll be humming this song for days.
Great band and great reaction as usual, Jamel. The brothers are all together and that's the spirit of this song. All the good humans in that room together.
Turn 18 in 1970. I'm loving your channel❤ nice to see the younger generations listening and feeling the message in the lyrics.
Now I have to go find them and add them to my 70s music list. Loved their music. Thank you boys ❤❤
Always loved this song! I saw Three Dog Night live three times back in the day and yes we were all that skinny back then. LOL
They put something in our food supply starting in the late 80s
@@ShaunHensley Gmo's and other crap.
Yup. GMO, high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated fats and seed oils, msg, nitrates. They didn’t use any of that shite except nitrates in the food. Back then, McDonald’s food actually rotted!
How I wish I would have been able to see this group live. What a wonderful experience it must have been.
This is the best rock song ever. I wish you would listen to the album version, however. Yes, the live shows were fantastic, but thei albums were out of this world. This song deserves it. Thanks for listening to the dogs.

Three Dog Night is great!! Joy to the World is my favorite from them!!!
Written by Hoyt Axton!

I do believe when you and your brothers are together it's like I'm right there with you guys
Three Dog Night will always be one of my favorite bands. And I was born 1975

Yall got awesome harmony!
R.I.P Floyd Sneed.
Great Song. TDN was so good. Try 'Out in the Country', 'Easy to be Hard' or 'One'.
Always like seeing the brothers together. 🎉❤
"Does this song ring a bell......bottom?"
Omg, Jamel...🤣🤣🤣
Great video! There's a video that has a mini concert show with this included! Good choice! What about some Grass Roots reactions? Temptation Eyes or Two Divided By Love💃
They are so much fun live. You forget how many songs they did.
Love your honest reactions to some of the best music ever. Much success to you all.
They were so huge!!
Such a great sound. Never change the channel when they come on.

Dog night rocks and you fellers proved it today !

Thank you so much for another great video!
"so much for white privilege!" Right! Because one example destroys an argument!
Nice, guys. 😘
I do love me some Cory Wells. 1972 LIVE Try a little tenderness.
luv this song!!!
Good band. On the radio often. Saw them too! Wish you were there then! Maybe things would have stayed more positive! Our dream back then.
Three Dog Night is a quite spiritual band of no specific religious affiliation. Moreso all of 'em. Thus combining hallelujah (western tradition) with Shambala (eastern tradition). From Jesus to Hindu gurus to Buddha, they like it all.
Yall have some good voices!
Good catch..on the Hallelujah!
thank you jamel for just being a good person no black no white just music your awsome
Great song and great reaction.
Golly, you three are so cute! ♡
The best (in my opinion) of Three Dog Night was their hit cover of "Eli's Comin' " by the great Laura Nyro. Go for it!

Jamel with his two Pipps. 😁
Will ALWAYS think of the Dharma van in LOST!

My guy. Big “J”. Whooo!

I always enjoy all the bros together...hoping LaRon is still honeymooning after that lovely wedding.
Isn't it good to just enjoy music holistically without an agenda , thanks Jamal
The World was in a better place back then…Spiritually
That was cool thanks jamel 🍀
Danny Hutton... he's a nice man!!
Classic 🔥 🔥
I Love this song, and remember when it first came out. I'm very sorry to disappoint you, though. The lyrics are not Hallelujah, they're:
Ah ooh yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Ah ooh yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Chuck Negron with the mustache Jamal likes.....is the tallest at 6'1".....i bet you all top him, huh ??....LOL
Put on the bell bottoms & long white girl wigs and let 3 Dog Night sing!😂😂
Lipsinc tour!
Allehuyah😎
You'll book a tour in a snap! Just DON'T SING! ❤😅😅😅We'll come to see ya as long as you play the record.🤞👌✌😂
Music used to be so good, every week we would get a new awesome song…think those days are long gone
Do Not Diss the awesome clothes !
Ahhhh oooohhhhh yeah (not HalleluYah) but think I prefer what y’all made me hear 😂
Not bad.
,,😎👍
Not too bad fellers
Great reaction and no offense guys, but keep your day jobs. 🤣
Google says the lyrics are... Ah ooh yeah - Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah - Ah ooh yeah - Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Those were the disco years, the 60s stuff was better.
They're not saying "hallelujah".
"Wash away my troubles
Wash away my pain
With the rain in Shambala
Wash away my sorrow
Wash away my shame
With the rain in Shambala
Ah ooh yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Ah ooh yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah"
These guys are spot on with their lyric insight. Regardless of what the lyric sites say, When you hear Hallelujah, you know you're in Shambala!
🙏🏽👊🏽🤘🏽
Guys...too much talking...Jamal! Lol
Why are you choosing these terrible recordings to react to? The studio version would've been much better. I know you have trouble with demonitizing, but bro these terrible live versions don't do you any service.
Not sure if you bro's are near Santa Ynez CA.

Great reaction fellas, but please Keep Your Day Jobs! 🤔🥴👍✌️
