Microsoft for the WIN, already years ahead of Meta. Seems like Meta is trying to catch up. Ill take real avatars over a cartoon like the Nintendo Wii did to us, as well as a less bulky headset..over all I see as Microsoft a winner on this one so far.
You got no idea, Microsoft has no app support, no games, no Controllers, no customizations. It's Ar might be better than quest 2 but against quest 3 its clearly inferior.

@@jaygrillmagic no it's not, some products are just better. It's like comparing Fisker to to Tesla. One of them makes innovation the other is an abomination. It's as simple as that, ain't nobody buying hololense at that price nor anything else. It needs major refinement and a consumer oriented focus with game/app support as well as a hefty price adjustment and maybe you'll have a good product.
Microsoft has already discontinued WMR support for all its VR series, and AR seems quite compromised as well now that Vision Pro is out for blood.
There is much less need for holographic display now that VR can use high-resolution pass-through. Quest 3 can be used without a face gasked in a very open-air fashion, and it just works perfectly for MR, even with glasses. Let's see what you can do against the next Quest pro, now that MS has lost momentum and initiative on the field.
Pd: The Hololens 2 is years older, and had Eye Tracking, and virtual spaces and AI Avatars.
And twice the price, very bad fov, low resolution, high tracking latency and low framerate.

3 years old actually. Microsoft will demo Hololens 3 in February and ship it in 2024

both are great, but definitely the quest pro wins.
It needs a massive price drop it's just as over priced as HoloLens 2 is if it has any hopes of success it needs to be some where around the price range of Meta Quest II other wise people will just buy a Meta Quest II. If you force your customers to buy the latest *product* then they will garuantee not to return which is a big business mistake.
@@futuristicentity2417 Meta is definitely not forcing people to buy Quest Pro instead of Quest 2. They are different product categories and not for the same audience. Quest 2 is still their latest gaming headset.

It's not a competition for me. I'm just happy to see the space progressing. Can't wait till we move past clunky headsets.
I bought 4 of them. For all my family to use. I love the oculus and support the innovation. Zuckerberg is the best to do it since Steve jobs!

Maybe not have to link your Facebook to it for some reason they said they lifted that and it STILL makes me link a Facebook to my headset I am not buying Facebook owned products in general. The headset isn't powerful enough it needs to reach a level where it becomes its own console running instense games like No Mans Sky. We all failed to have an Among the Sleep Virtual Reality game these headsets are no where near advanced they just throw that in there as a marketing scheme.
Facebook is definitely not required anymore. It's still an option to login using your Facebook credentials though so you might have chose that. You need to go into the account center in the Meta Quest app and unlink your Meta and Facebook accounts.
Here's a news flash: these headsets will never be as powerful as gaming consoles or desktops. They are constrained by mobile chipsets for more efficiency & heat dissipation. That's why we have things like airlink or virtual desktop

nice marketing video. We have the hololens and it's cluncky and completely unusable.

@@mrallworknoplay4629 the interface is not mature and hit and miss when you're trying to manuvour objects. Aside from the hardware you need an ecosystem of productivity softwares / utilities / games otherwise the hardware is useless.
@@drtomgao understood. I just got my meta quest pro and absolutely love it. I have always contemplated getting HoloLens but never saw any real “killer apps” or even any useful apps at all unlike with Quest there are literally tons and tons of apps and utilities.
