For anybody considering hiking Mt. Baldy for the first time, please consider training for it first if you haven't already done so. If you cannot do a 10 mile hike, at 7000 ft+, and with 4000 feet of elevation gain, then do not attempt to try Mt. Baldy. It's important to gauge whether you are fit enough for either of the above requirements. You can be a star athlete, but without proper conditioning and experience, altitude and exposure can make mince-meat out of you. Too bad the coaches were grossly ignorant of this.

It doesn't really cost a lot for a helicopter to fly to that spot from where they took off. California just likes to overcharge for everything because its a corrupt state. cost of fuel is all that should of costed and the helicopter probably didn't fly very far to get there as they use the nearest takeoff spot of course. But knowing CA they will take the cost of fuel and multiple it by x100 and bill the insurance.
