It wasnt popular at first but even the rich made good off it as it brought in the era of homes and subdivisions, fast cars, new music ...and a new way of life - a debt ridden, enslaved society with 25+ yr mortgages and Visa/Mastercard. They quickly figured out a way to get it all back and then some.
