X Maxx 8s Hobbywing Max5 repositioning

Moved the max5 which was on the Kershaw esc mount ontop of the chassis brace. Looked odd and was worried it affected the center of gravity being exposed ontop of the brace.
Anyway - removed the plastic block before the receiver box and removed the wire cap lid and housing. Made 2 extra holes in base of chassis and made some mounted to screw it in to. Viola - it now sits like a glove in the chassis. Thoughts.

I'll be setting up my MAX5 ESC just as you have it in there now, but I will be running a SkyRC TORO Beast 1090kv motor. It should scoot pretty good and I'm looking forward to the installation as soon as I get my motor plate and pinion gear.

looks like he's running a higher kv dynamite motor so it's doable, but a lot of people go with the 800kv max5 combo in which the motor is a lot bigger leaving no space to mount the esc lower

Hello!!I just Subscribed to your channel I'm New to the Hobby world got a Traxxas X Maxx 8s and had issues with Traxxas not wanting to warranty their Product so any who I thought about buying the kit to mount my New EZRUN MAX5 till I saw this video Great work by the way!!!but my question is when you cut out the the wire box what did you use to cover up the Holes?Thanks for the Great video keep them coming can't wait to see what you have in store for the world of RC to see thanks in advance

Belle clean set up I have mine max5 just like that love it but was running stock v2motor well today finally gave up so now looking to upgrade motor how you like that leopard sir?

Nice work. Where have you placed the receiver box electronics now that the box isn’t there anymore? It it underneath the esc - and how have you managed that? Any pics?

will the max 5 damage my stock xmaxx 8s motor.
and will anything be in the way to install max5 esc becoz i wouldent want to spoil the frame brilliant video

There is no reason that the MAX5 ESC will damage that stock motor. BUT, if you pick up the stock motor from the 6S truck (version 1), the truck will actually run faster because of the motor's kv and that ESC combo. Just a thought for ya'. Enjoy !!!
