      For me it was always The Breaking of the Fellowship, I had a particularly awful office job and on my walk to work I would imagine an orchestra playing it, and really focus on the last part where it becomes more hopeful and optimistic, and by the time I reached the office I felt like I could face another day. That was 15 years ago and it still puts that same swell in my heart every time I hear it (and the original version played by the New Zealand orchestra, which is slightly different than the version that made it into the movie). True soundtrack to my adult life.

    • @old-manparker6153
      @old-manparker6153 Před 27 dny

      @@salvatoredebella4502 ~ yeah, I completely understand.
      "The Hobbit" was the first "REAL" book I read. It changed my life forever as well.
      However, It took several years later for me to get all the way through ( and really understand ) the entire "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.
      It makes me happy that J.R.R. Tolkien, with the urging and support of his friends, did complete his masterpiece... AND, not only did he finish this herculean task - with all the created histories and original languages - what's even better is when it was finally published it was a critical & popular success right from the moment it appeared in book shops. ( And still is to this very day! )
      Unlike so many other authors, J.R.R. Tolkien lived to see his life's work become world famous, beloved by so many. Generations celebrate his work, and it's even reshaped our culture.
      Well, our pop-culture anyways.
      I remember in school, my friends would be talking about different parts of "the trilogy" - Have you gotten to "This part with the black riders yet?" "You mean the naz-ghouls?" (Who?) "Do you think Gandalf is dead?" ( Yes! ) etc...
      No live action films yet, but there were animated films, along with another film called "Wizards" that became an underground classic.
      There were art books & calendars by the Brothers Hildebrandt; Twin artists that painted exactly alike and who created all the first sensational visuals for the trilogy.
      ( Tim Hildebrandt's painting of "Smaug" is incredible! )
      Every weekend was spent in someone's basement playing the first edition of "Dungeons & Dragons" - for those who just could not be fulfilled by reading J. R. R. Tolkien's books alone - but needed to actually PLAY the story over and over again.
      Tolkien created a new literary drug and it was addictive!
      Then, suddenly... one of the biggest rock bands in our teenaged-world started singing about things in the trilogy!
      In our eyes, the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy could receive no higher standard of excellence than to become the stuff of "rock n' roll mythology".
      It was a phenomenon.
      It still is, and I believe it will forever be so. Not because of the films or music, ( yes both are wonderful ) but because all of that is based on "The Lord of the Rings" - J.R.R. Tolkien's true literary masterpiece.
      Books this good make your life better.

      @@samm.8052better late than never. The stories truly are powerful. They transcend so much about what we know and touch on so many core human themes. Tolkien was a genius.
      I feel when people do watch these movies it's never quite what they expect. The level of immersion Jackson and Co. achieved was worthy of Tolkien imo and that is why they were so successful. The real secondary world. Other fantasy just isn't the same.

      @lynn9111 Před 5 měsíci

      It isn't mediaeval, it's meant to be much, much older than that period. Tolkien constructed a 'history' for England based on the Norse/Germanic sagas, which is why his work stands head and shoulders above average fantasy stuff, and is really in a category of its own.
      I hope you read the books, as they are so much better than the films (and I love the films!).

      I have had a revelation concerning my own anxiety and other issues I face:
      The issue is the ring. I have to walk to hell to get rid of it. But in Mount Doom, where the ring came from, is where the healing is. The road is long, hard and you will only get there one step at a time.
      This music helps me on my many quest to Mount Doom. If I may suggest a quote thats helped me as well:
      If you change the way you look at things the things you look at change.
      Hang in there. You'll be fine.
      Nothing but love

    Due to copyright, some tracks are shortened and have some rough transitions. Make sure to download the full 65 minute mix.

    Can't stop thinking about killing myself - this is the only music/experience that gives me hope. The melodies and scales swallow and absorb loss and death - but always with the hope of renewal, life and love. 'There was never much hope, only a fool's hope' - one of the best lines ever written in the English language. God bless you all, to see another hour, another day, another week or month - to hope for a future not devoid of hope.

      The fact that such beauty and wonder exists, shows without doubt, that the Author of life exists and wants joy for His children. Happy are those who have not seen and yet believe in Him now. God bless you in your struggles and in your search for peace and freedom of suffering awaits you if you follow Him until the end.

      I've been there. I had three attempts in 2012. (My dad said I needed a new hobby 😗) It felt so awful. I still struggle from time to time, but you're wise to consider God when feeling like that. The world is full of lies, man. Satan is the king of lies, whose main trick is to convince us that he is a friend (2Cor 11:14), or that we are not valuable. My friend, God did something amazing for you before you were ever born. He finds you so valuable that your sin, my sin, everyone's sin (past, present, and future) is what Jesus Christ went to the cross for. To pay the penalty that we (YOU) deserve for that sin. We murdered God, as He willingly took on that death to save us from it. It's the Great Exchange.
      Jesus understands what you are feeling--"Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery." -Heb 2:14-25
      Jesus is powerful enough to break through the hopelessness. "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." Jn 14:27
      I hope this helps, even a little.
