I swear, Minas Tirith is my favourite mythical city of all. Hobbiton has a good grasp of what daily life is about. Edoras is beautiful for horse-lovers (as I am also). But Minas Tirith carries something of great hope for mankind. Something that calls out the warrior inside of me, a willingness to fight for a good King.
Anyone familiar with that?

Gondor represents the remnant of the last hope of humanity against the Shadow of Melkor. The children and legacy of once proud Numenor, their continued promise to fight for the good of all Free Peoples.

Hey, maybe one day I might decide to build Imladris in real life. That would be amazing. A safe haven for all no matter race, gender or where you come from. A place like that seems like a fantasy, which is probably why I like it so much.

Certainly, it is the greatest hope, but hope is not something so easily destroyed as a country.
Other trilogies are fine and entertaining, but Lord of the Rings invokes such a sense of wonder and pure majesty
This music gives me hope. The kind of hope that one day we will not have to suffer. The kind of hope that comes with the rain upon dry land. The kind of hope that comes when the sun rises. The kind of hope that makes you want to live.

Yet I fear that world will only be seen in a book. I'm in my mid 50s and in a lot of ways I'm glad I don't have children. It's a sad and sorry world we leave them.

I literally read that line of the book this morning. so tough to go about your day when you're reading these books and all you want to do is return to Gondor and Ithilien and Eriador....

I love this artwork of Minas Tirith. So many artists seem to forget that the first ring/wall of Minas Tirith was black and out of the same stone as Orthanc.

I love how the Hobbiton theme is interwoven through Gondor's, and vice versa. It shows just how much the fate of those two realms are tied together; the destiny of lordly warriors and kindly halflings joined in one song! :)

i was listening to this when i opened my inbox. to my surprise, i got a job offer from a company i've sat 2 very interesting interviews for. i can say that this whole year has been very challenging for me, both mentally and physically with dealing with MS, and the passing of a loved one. LOTR has always been the ideal escape from reality for me, as the hopes always inspired me through very hard times. there's been many times when i was at my darkest points for this year. but i am cheered up with the news of this job offer, and i know this will be my second chance to bounce back into a new phase of life. i know that i will have to take small steps into improving myself, instead of diving blindly into it. i will do my best, to do better, because i know that gandalf would say the same.
These are refreshing and always inspiring little stories to hear. Hope that in the end you'll always be confident, happy and may you make a good and fullfilling career out of this job!

when the music started i was taken back to Aragon's conversation with Boromir in Lothlorien. i always liked that scene.

At about 11:30 in this vid, the thunder lines up perfectly with the music and it's just **chefs kiss**
not everyone sees these movies for what they are, and everyone has their own opinion as to what that is, but all I know is that Gondor is where I want to spend my life, my dreams, and eternity
The Shire to grow up in. Rohan to come of age. Minas Tirith to 'adult'. Rivendell to retire. Lothlorién to draw my last breath and The Grey Havens to be laid to rest.

I can not express how much Cozy feeling i got out of the first second of this video. Love the rain in RL, rain falling over the Pelennor looking towards Minas Tirith is like a dream.

This is a fantastic depiction of Minas Tirith as it shows the lowest level covered in the same volcanic rock as Orthanc (which is accurate to the books). The rain adds another layer of soothing sounds to an already calming soundtrack. I am a lover of the books and the movies by Peter Jackson. Well done!

As I listen to this music, two scenes from the book play in my mind. Aragorn and Gandalf finding the sapling of the white tree; Aragorn and Arwen sitting by the fountain as the new tree grows while Frodo comes to them regarding going home. After all the horrors of the Paths of the Dead, the battle of the Pelennor fields, the battle of the Morannon, the decades of Aragorn's toils and the fruition of his dreams, he comes into his own and leads Middle Earth into the 4th Age. One of Elessars greatest examples of his mercy and kindness was appointing Beregon as Captain of Faramir's guard. He was humble, strong, courageous, doubtful at times, the last of the true Numenorean kings, but truly a great leader. We need more men in this world like Elessar Telcontar
