"Battle for the Planet of the Apes" is the final chapter in the sci-fi movie series. In this chapter, a tribute of human atomic bomb mutations are out to make life miserable for the peaceful ape tribe. The story is told primarily in flashback with the opening and closing taking place in the year 2670.

From a filmmaking perspective, I can really see how they TRIED to make this a big battle. I can see the tricks in editing, such as the tree house exploding being the same explosion but from a different angle. But the budget just didn't allow it. Such a sharp contrast to the revolution sequence in the previous film.
Battle of Endor at home:
This scene reminds me a little of Monty Python, Quest for the Holy Grail when John Cleese runs towards the camera over and over again with the same shot being use, before suddenly arriving at his destination.
personally, I think this battle was good enough

I always loved the school bus that the mutant army had, that’s a sure fire way to scare the apes !

It's funny that these Mutants were just wanting to fight to survive and all got killed while the Mutants that didn't want to fight ended up being really nasty and evil after a few generations
@@gamerstheater1187it's possible, their leader was formally high up in the government so he would have knowledge of and access to such equipment, though in the end his lot all died and the pacifists that remained in the city eventually spawn the evil mutants to come
The Abrams was commissioned 6 years after the release of this film so the best they would probably get is an M60A1 Patton or if they are lucky a Prototype M1 Abrams @@robertmontague1216

Those jeep mounted weapons have so much elevation,on them ,they can only hit the moon
First movie I seen in a theater was this one still my favorite
I'm not sure you'd feel that way if you saw it for the first time today.

The two .30 cal machineguns on the jeeps could've easily swept the entire ground but then that would've been the end of the movie.
Sweeping like that isn't as effective as you'd think.
Sure, video games aren't real life, but they often will attempt to recreate guns with their respective accuracies and fire rates.
Sweeping with an automatic gun like that, often times misses more than it hits.
You gotta do the math on bullets pet minute, and the amount of area you're Sweeping, and account for the distance.
Plus a gunner like that is always a prime target for returned fire

But that wouldn't necessarily be "sweeping the entire ground"

Lucky for the apes that the same marksmen who played as storm troopers also played as the human resistance in this world. Not to mention, their mortar teams were as accurate and useful as a gorilla doing brain surgery.

I like the contrast between the mutant vs ape battle in the first sequel and here, in the first sequel, the mutants lost cause they refused to fight and the apes were fully armed, but here the mutants were slowly winning cause the apes were already dealing with division and mutiny
I liked how Aldo ran away, picks off the retreating survivors then rides back I like he is king shit

Kind of disappointing that these mutants' psychic powers aren't strong enough to lift stuff or mindwipe their ape enemies. I feel sorry for anyone expecting them to have cool powers like Prof. X or Magneto. What they got were bargain bin Deadpools with piddling psychic powers who worship a nuke.

0:15 why would you send the limpy guy first? And apes with firearms look like they outnumber humans at least 2 to 1 and they retreated?
i think they tried to make the humans seem like this unstoppable wall of armor with their trucks, but the editing and budget just made it a little silly.
Sucks that the Humans lost and because they where betrayed too.
