Great advice. Prices have been creeping up this week. Looks like they are planning on dropping prices when new products get announced at CES next week. Trick retailers do to make sales look even better is to adjust up right before they go on sale.
damnnnn i just built one lol giga byte 3060, corsair hi100, tomahawk z790, all with a i5 13600k. i love it tho
when you decide to build a pc after 2 years of waiting , but more stuff is releasing dang
A good time to build was last month or any month before that. This month however, wait.
@@ScatterVoltalready built mine yesterday with used gpu and cpu? am I good?
Depends on what combo. I don’t know what you used.
That is always the way, you have to take the plunge sometime, it is just a matter of when.
Do it .
5600x cpu 128.99 I got mine to 4.75 hz
It can be said literally every year: "DON'T build a gaming PC now!" and never build it. I love advice like this. Nothing personal.
I list four good reasons from the video (if you watched) why and I usually never make these kinds of videos.
This isn’t clickbait. This is actual advice. Wait one month.
@@ScatterVoltthanks I waited it was a terrible decision
@@skip485 I'm still waiting....
Don’t do it boys wait for the new parts and the sales on old ones when they do come out 🎉
And it won't be long either!
I’ve already bought most of my parts though😢
@@jaalilang8318bro same I bought my whole gpu already and it’s 7800xt the exact price target of the nvidia cards
Dang I was about to buy my 7800xt and 7800x3d next week I got paid 😢
@@callofdute23the 7800x3d was pretty low before the holidays. I don’t expect it to be any lower than $330 which was on Amazon.
Started buying stuff around black friday, probably saved about 300€ from it, just missing a ram kit and a decent budget case. Quite literally the 26th right after christmas prices shot up, my tuf b650 went from 179€ up to ~270€ and my 7600x went from 219€ to 319€.
You're a smart buyer
The Zalman S2 is a great budget case. Good airflow.
I'm not even trying to get a new PC right now but that APU news of having a gtx 1060 in your CPU is actually something I'm really excited for, makes 1080p low end minecraft/fortnite machines possible for maybe $400 for young ones
if you wanna play minecraft with shaders (the best way to experience the game in my opinion) then that cpu won’t be enough graphically.
for fortnite you’ll struggle heavily in battle royale with competitive settings. even my 1660 super and 5600 is struggling to hit 144 frames in 1656x1080 resolution. horrible 1% lows too.
@@TheeAcid I have a Ryzen 3 3100 and 1660 super and I'm hitting above 144 at 1920x1080 perfectly fine at the lowest graphics settings Epic view distance, I don't experience many stutters but I haven't played after they undid the OG map update
Thank you for the update we are cooking up good this year
I got to see some sneak previews today from some of the big boys and wow. I didn't see some things coming.
A Much needed video as I was looking forward to build PC. Thanks for all the content, mr. Volt
My pleasure!
I had my list together, ready to do a low end build that's plenty for what I do (5600/6600) but in the last couple days the 5600 jumped up $70 and the 6600 went up almost $200 (I can get a 6700 xt for $10 less than a 6600 not xt on newegg Canada right now). With that being the case, taking your advice is pretty easy. If my budget stuff is gonna cost that much, might as well upgrade the build a little.
Actually, after taking another look, the cheaper 6600 sold out, the price didn't change. I was just seeing the prices for the ones actually available right now. Same net result, just not the price jump I thought it was.
Im from Canada too and I've started purchasing my parts this week. It's actually a good time to get parts because of the end of year salesand people getting rid of their parts. I got some new and used stuff. You just gotta mix good priced used parts with on sale new parts and you'll be good.
@@1onejotarokujo Can't do it. I know it's dumb but it's just my thing. I don't buy used electronics. Can't make myself trust it. Budget isn't really the issue though, it's more about not spending for more than I need for what I do just to be able to say "I have (whatever)." Nothing wrong with doing that, it's just not important to me.
ive been looking at these exact same parts. i just gave in and bought it after seeing the prices go up they way they did
Interesting. I have a 13400 in a $430 HP prebuilt I bought on Black Friday. It's an excellent CPU, in my opinion, especially since it's a drastic upgrade from my previous prebuilt which had an 8400.
I recently built my cousin’s son a “budget” build with a mix of new and spare parts. I3-12100F (new), my old RTX 2070 and spare 32 gb ddr5. I’ll tell him to aim at upgrading to the 14400 in year or two.
Excellent CPU upgrade path
As someone who builds and sells PCs on the side, I personally don't think this will hurt too much. Really this will probably just help some prices come down in the future. For me, I've been sticking to lower-midrange used gpus anyway.
Well, who knows how good those integrated graphics are on the 8000 APUs. That'll be very exciting to see.
I am forced to go for a gaming laptop what do you advise for a 1500-1800€ budget?
forced?@@max417481
@@max417481 With that budget, you can get just about any higher end laptop. I would recommend you go with AM5 platform and RTX 40 series like a 4070 or 4070ti with ddr5 and gen 4 ssd
I agree. Going to be huge with 7600XT and Supers coming out.
its just a video card m8, calm down.
@@nightvision3182nothing to calm down about. He was just stating the obvious in that cards prices should calm down after super and 7600XT coming out.
I think processors wise, its not a huge benefit to wait it out. Graphics cards however is good to tough it out and see what they reveal. Not to mention we won't know what the availability would look like.
Depends what kinda graphics you want, if you want a 4090, buy now, since they’re not replacing that.
idk if you're going low-end/1080p, the Arc A380/A580 are good pickups atm. Even if the prices are a little higher.

I’m from Malaysia! I’ve already bought PC parts! I got myself a Ryzen 5 7600x and 32GB Ram thanks to your previous videos. What GPU would you recommend? (I play mostly MOBA Games and FPS competitively and seldomly play Triple A games) would also like a future proof card for this build if you may
@@MassStarvation 6700/6800 xt or 7700/7800 xt; All great cards for 1440p
I'm only recently getting into OEM PC flipping, but if prices come down with the release of these next line of PC parts, it'll be fun to do some fully custom builds!
That's a good way to put it!
oem pc s cost around 300 , building w new parts will be 600 to 700 similar performance
MARK YOUR WORDS! Everybody on internet says 7600xt will be BS because just think of 4060ti 16gb, why would AMD get preferential threatment? This is true. I might make another video just for this.
underated comment
I looked into storage recently and found heaps of links saying it is going to go up, and heaps of links saying it is going to go down. 🤨 I played it safe and bought a 2TB Kingston Fury Renegade and a 4TB Lexar NM790. I just built my first pc last month with i5 12600k, 7800 xt, 16 gb ddr4 ram and other components for £1000 budget.
Glad I saw this, I had your latest $2000 build in my cart ready to pull the trigger!
The only thing you'd have to possibly change is the GPU choice if the 4080 super is priced at the level of a 7900XTX.
i literally just finished my build on the week after Christmas and im satisfied it'll last me for bare minimum 7-8 years
Very nice!
I recently started building my new pc, and ordered almost all the parts, fortunately I brought them before the prices increased.
My gpu is very old but I got a Ryzen 5 7500f so I'm good in the next years fo the cpu socket (in Italy the price are going crazy right now thank god I ordered the before😅)
What GPU do you have? I have a GTX 1060 6GB.
@BREEZYM6015 I've got a rx 5700 xt for now I'm gonna keep it for some year
I got Black Friday/Christmas deals a couple months ago and I do not regret it one bit 😁
Great vid and waiting just gives me a higher budget with more weeks to save. Im going to try to do a black friday cyber monday sales build ill have to move fast but i think i can do it. Hopefully they will have some great deals this year.
October has the best deals of the year period. Better than November.
Well good thing I’m waiting till around march to build my first PC!
Great timing
Just bought a new pc, 7800x3d, 7900xtx, dont regret my choices, runs like a beast, if u keep waiting u will never buy
Pre built? How much was it for?
@buhshmuh NAH not prebuilt, I don't remember how much it was tho, I remember gpu was like 900 (I got the white asrock taichi) and the 7800x3d was like 300 or 350 iirc (this is in GBP not usd)
Content creators have been saying don't build a new gaming pc for the last 3 years, weigh up the time you'll be waiting and the discounts you may get waiting, I built mine and don't regret it for a second.
Who are these “content creators”?
This is the first time I’ve pushed out a video like this since the chip shortage. It’s a temporary one.
I had been saying “don’t build, wait” to myself for years. It’s a never ending battle. If you really need or want something today - get it. If you can afford to wait for the next best tech, you never actually needed it
@@ScatterVolt There you go, you even said yourself you've also said not to build one previously, from the chip shortage up until now nothing has drastically changed in price has it? GPUs are still ridiculously priced and this was mentioned by your good self previously, when should someone buy one? Do we really think waiting will change anything? Again you're not the first and won't be the last creator to give this advice.
Just put together my first build 2 days ago 😂 might be missing out on the cpu paying full price for my Ryzen 5 7600 but I’m still rocking a 3070 that was from my pre build that I won’t be upgrading anytime soon
Nice haha
How was the 3070 performing with ryzen 5 7600? Good?
Thanks for posting this after I just bought a 4080!
Return the 4080 right now
I'm from Europe. I think the prices will go up even more
Also there is not special offers like in the us
The European market is so depressing but luckily high end stuff doesn't actually make games more fun anyways
Great videos as always!
Thanks Chadalonso
I mean, you can build a Medium/High 1080p rig for $150-$200. So it depends on your budget and what you want to do. If you plan on spending $2,000+ and wanna game now, but could wait longer, build a Marketplace PC for the mean time. It'll still be an enjoyable experience for the price
Me and my brother just watched a video about your prebuilts last night lol.
always Q2 and Q3 of the year is the best time to build or upgrade
Facts
you gotta control yourself not to go to microcenter shop, but good to see what is been offered
Self control is very attractive
I plan on upgrading by pc. I want to change my motherboard, cpu, and ram. I’ve noticed an inflation in cpu prices, but motherboard and ram prices seem to be the same. I also found a ryzen 5 7600 for 170 dollars. Should I upgrade now or wait?
I remember when everyone was giving this advice back when the 20XX series was coming out and they were never available and everything went up in price because everyone was waiting to buy one and there was a bunch of pent up demand
Who could have predicted?
Here in India its 723 USD for sapphire Nitro + 7800 XT should I buy it now or wait for the price drop ?
I was about to buy my parts next week because sales are starting on the 10th in my country. I was going for a 7800x3d paired with a 7800xt for 1080p gaming. Do you think it is worth waiting for me? I have been waiting for a long time already.
I think you should pull the trigger and buy everything. The 7800xt is an excellent 1440p card that won’t go down is price by too much since it was recently released. Just built a PC with the 7900xt and 7800x3d and it’s awesome.
@@goldenst14thanks, that's what I was thinking. The only thing that makes me wanna wait is the 4070 super release because if the 4070 goes down to a reasonable price I could consider it. But I think I am gonna go with the 7800xt anyways, it gives so much more performance for the money. Glad to hear that you're happy with your build!
If you know sales are coming, then you’re good
built a pc around Black Friday and Christmas ended up getting a 12700k for $200 and rx7800xt for $490 would say I made out pretty good considering prices right now
I just got a 13600k for just under 300$ and a 4070 Super for MSRP. Maybe not the best deal ever, but I'm happy with it.
I was gonna wait, but on the 4th I seen the 7900xtx on sale on amazon for 799$ and I scooped it up, I had no choice lol, sale only lasted about an hour after I purchased the card so I'm glad I did.
That was definitely a preemptive move by AMD.
They know what’s coming.
Getting my pc in february, and by that time prices should be, what they are going to be for a while, if not even cheaper
just bought a new cpu, mainboard, ram and cpu cooler in the time from black friday until christmas, nothing special budget wise a ryzen 7600 and im more than happy!. maybe if there will be good price adjustments with new upcoming gpus i can get a nice gpu too now
I went to Best Buy found an open box deal for 950 it was 999 before the deal, the next week the same laptop was going for 850 brand new, luckily they have the 14day return policy and I was able to get my money back
Hey i came to remind you that the description says early 2023 while it should say 2024
Oooh let me change that
Hey man questions thought on buying the 6750xt? Is there a specific ver i should try and get also would i run into any power or bottleneck issues.

32gbs ram and 750 watt powersupppy?
Yeah patiently waiting until my savings used up for insane inflations in my country
Hahahaha, when this popped on my CZcams feed, i was like; "what, didn't he just do a large build guide for multiple systems?" But i get it, and really appreciated this video. I have a system that needs building so badly right now (two actually) but I've been trying to push it back a bit.
I'm very unhappy with Intel not dropping the price of their 12th gen CPUs, maybe their "14th gen" will have an impact. And on the AMD side im frustrated with good value gaming CPUs that are platform restricted to last gen memory and therefore a poor upgrade path. I love AM5, which is my personal build (7800x3d&RX7900XTX), but its costly. I'm gonna try to hold out until mid to end February. Thanks for the video ScatterVolt. Respect.
If you want high end intel 15th gen and ryzen 8000 isn't as close as id be willing to wait...
Sure if you're willing to wait that long
Hey, I’m planning to get a gaming pc soon and I’ve only had PS my entire life so im kind of clueless. Would now be a good time to buy parts for it or should I wait a bit longer?
Check out my most recent videos. That’ll answer your question.
How long will it take for prices to drop? I can get a 2070 super for 130 USD but will its price lower quickly? Is it possible to get a decent 12 gb vram gpu for around that price in the near future?
I think im just gonnabuild as soon as i get the funds together because i just wanna play at this point
It's always something releasing so no point to wait for smth you can afford and really need. If you can wait so you just don't need it.
But this time it’s a bit of a deal. There’s a LOT of new stuff coming out.
@ScatterVolt new stuff makes old one a bit cheaper. Don't know ppl that are buying new parts as they arrive at high start prices. And as for prices for old cpus - you can even now find, for example, i5-10400 for like msrp in stores. That makes no sense, but prices go down like 10 times slower then companies ramp them up.
I'm not arguing with you, you have a lot of nice videos. Just think that if ppl need pc right now - they buy it, if not - they will still be looking for best picks for months.
I built my current PC last summer. It was a good moment to build a new PC after 12 years. And I could activate Windows 11 Pro with my old Windows 7 Pro key.
And of course, it has a 7800X3D, the best gaming CPU currently available.
No way , for straight gaming 5600 x or non x it's single core world KILL most cpus .
Dead serious
@@nflisrigged1395 5600 uses the outdated and soon obsolete AM4 platform. And you are pegged to DDR4 RAM. So, if you want to upgrade your system in, say, 5 years, it is a bad choice.

what about if im building slowly over the year, should i buy nvme now? I heard theres a shortage, do you see anything else going up in the future

The CZcams Algorithm is working correctly I see!
so far i have my psu, motherboard,AIO and RAM i am waiting on the cpu and gpu purchase. What do you think my next part should be? i was thinking for the case
Is it worth waiting for a build like this strix b650-a, 7800x3d, 7900xtx taichi or will it not affect prices too much of the higher end cpu and graphics cards?
i want to know this too. im planning to buy that combo
Depends on the 4080S' price point. If it comes out at 999USD AMD might drop their price as they tend to want to offer more value than nvidia. They also might not as their card will likely still 8gigs more Vram and faster raster performance.
I originally picked up my 7900xtx thinking if the 4080S comes out around the same price I'll return it and pick that up. But I've honestly been so impressed by my experience with the XTX I don't know if I care what nvidia does.
I personally wait for the new stuff to be released. But when the new hardware is finally released I wait for the new stuff to come down in price as it's the newest hardware available so you're going to pay more. Problem is by the time the prices comes down I usually hold off because the new releases are coming out next month. Hence my current PC is from 2013 and I'm starting to lose my mind chasing my tail.
Im struggling to get my head around APUs.
Could you use them alongside a good GPU and get even better performance? Or does it not work like that?
An APU is basically a graphics chip inside the CPU. Its meant for basic tasks like web browsing and some very light gaming. They're primarily used in use cases where you don't need much graphics power, like in basic home PCs or basic business systems. Things like browsing youtube or writing documents don't require much graphics processing power which is where APUs work well. You can't "combine" an APU and graphics card for extra performance. Even if you somehow were able to do that, its extremely unlikely there would be any notable performance gains as APUs usually aren't that good for graphics tasks.
Was planning to go for i5-13400f pairing up with 7800xt. Will it work good for 1440p gaming + editing. If not what cpu would you recommend in the same budget
Get a non-F model CPU. Integrated Intel graphics are helpful for video editing.
so for this year, whens the best month to start looking for parts and start building?
I answer that at the very end of this video
Hi, I’m looking to buy a gaming PC so how long should I approximately wait to buy one?
i was planning to get a new cpu and mobo hope the prices will drop at phillipines as well! need that huge sale and discount.
I don’t see the CPU market moving a ton. The GPU market however..
Honestly, the 7800xt is such a bang for your buck card for 1440p.
I just ordered all my stuff and it's almost here 😭
So, when do I build my first gaming PC, then?
I was planning on Intel i3 13100f and RX 6600 combo
My budget is around $800 (or R15,000 in South Africa)
Well I went ahead and bought my 7900xt. It was the last piece I was waiting on and didn’t want to wait for more info. Got it for $650 with tax so good deal still
Amazing deal
I'm planning a "budget" build with a 12th gen Intel CPU in mind (12600K or 12700K) and for sure was gonna wait on the GPU side to grab maybe a 3060 12GB or 3070 at a good price. But now you're making me doubt about waiting for the CPU as well. What would you do?
go with rtx 3080/ti or rx 6700xt.
I’m on 3100 with RX6600 now for 1080p gaming. I’m aiming for 5600 upgrade, do I have to wait or it won’t make much difference for AM4?
Is it better to get the 8700g or 7600x if I’m going to pair it with a 3070 ti anyway?
I will say people should stay on the lookout for good deals tho, I was able to snag a 7900 xtx for 799$ on amazon a few days ago, so there might be more deals to come.
AMD already knows what the super series cards cost I bet
With Christmas I already saw really cheap 20 series cards on local markets 2060 super actually got down to similar prices as the 5700xt so now I can't choose between the two
Both are great, but the 5700XT will be faster. If you like ray tracing get the 2060 super though.
can you suggest a budget kit for video montage. davinci resolve a system is Windows 10 or linux debian or manjaro .short video forms up to 20 minutes. 4k max. thank you for your YT video.
I was going to build a pc with a ryzen 7600, until when should i wait for more or less?
im almost done with my 7800x3d build and this comes out
I was planning on getting new PC with the 4090 and 14900k. I don't know if these upcoming events will have a major impact on the price of the PC I plan on buying. Should I wait?
For your case? Nope!
Go ahead, it's actually a great time to build.
i plant to build a ryzen 5 5600 but i don't know what gpu to pick can you help me with it? i plan to play 1080p gaming, editing, and coding
I'm speccing out a parts list for a 7800X3D + 7900XT build for 4K gaming, my first upgrade since my first PC back with 9th-gen Intel, and I'm still unsure about when to pull the trigger. I'd like to bump the GPU up to the 7900XTX if my budget can handle it; is there a chance that AMD will think that the new RTX 4070 Ti Super will be better value proposition than the XTX and drop its price a bit? I just need a little more room in my budget to justify it. Also, over the last couple days the 7800X3D jumped $30-$50 in price or just outright sold out at some retailers; I hope that reverses course soon.
get rtx 3090ti. Trust me.
So I am planning to build my PC, yesterday I went to retail store to build PC with 7600x but I heard new Ryzen 5 8000 series coming. So my question is, is this going to be available in Jan or I have to wait more 2-3 months? Or should I build my PC with Ryzen 5 7600x? I am building the PC for gaming / streaming ( Valo ) and adobe PR or Ae for montage or gameplay videos. Please suggest me Scatter!
The CPUs you want to wait for won’t actually come out until the fall of this year.
AMD 8000 APUs are coming next week (same architecture as 7000)
@@ScatterVolt I see, thanks for the clarification :D
Is this also the case for high end hardware? I wanted to order a rx 7900xtx and a ryzen 7 7800x3d today. Now I am scared to buy those parts but since the new Nvidia GPUs will only cover the upper mid range segment (besides the 4080 Super which will cost more than the 4080 and therefore is to expensive anyway) I don’t suppose that the prices will change noticeably.
I would highly appreciate it if someone could tell me their opinion on that :)
Which one CPU will be better way to go with B660M Gaming X - 2x16GB DDR4 3200 - 3060Ti - 550w Gold Rog Strix psu - price is same.

Normally I'm sick of people saying wait don't build because that's what people have been saying since 2020 but when there's actual new products coming out that change up the prices on everything of course that's the expectation.
This is only the second time on this channel I’ve ever put out a video like this. It is indeed worth postponing your next build given at least three big new hardware releases.
Does this include us living in the EU too or is this only if you live in the us ?

Here in India its 723 USD for sapphire Nitro + 7800 XT should I buy it now or wait for the price drop ?
K so man I have a Ryzen 5 3600 I think ( not sure what number and a GeForce 2060 6gb.
I want to build a speedy, meaty gaming PC.
I was gonna go with a Ryzen 9 5900x and and a asus GeForce Phoenix 3060 v2 gaming 12gb.
What do you think? I'd love your reccomendation.
Actually, if your needs are meager, this is a great time to build a PC. If you game only at 1080p or 1440p and you're not into any sort of competition, this might be the best time in 3-4 years to build. What you would do in this case is build around a Ryzen 7 5700 and an RX 6700XT.
Very true.
Personally would rather wait for the 7600xt. It may be a little weaker than the 6700xt but it will have ai capabilities which may come in handy in the future, and you will also be able to sell it as used easier and for more money later on so you will save more money with it long term.
Happy with my choice to build a 5700X and 6800 rig December 2022. The only thing that has grabbed my interest since then is the 7800x3d, none of the newer graphics cards have made me regret my decision at all.
Or if your needs are very high end, because no 4090 or 7800x3D replacement
Agreed. Got my R5 7600/RX 6650XT build a month ago and I couldn't be happier.
Is ryzen 5 3600 still a good processor in 2024??
6months max and im building a beast system to stream warzone
The 8600G sounds very cool. If it is indeed as powerful as the 1060 6GB (which i used to game on), I’ll be very tempted to make a mini PC for travel. Maybe Asrock will release an AM5 version of their previous Deskmini x300…
Travel? Wouldn’t you want to enjoy the sights and scenes of the places you’re at first? Or are we talking long term travel?
I have a 1060 6GB paired with an i7 8700k. This combo plays games good enough for me. I want to upgrade the GPU and keep the CPU for a little longer.
@@BREEZYM6015 maybe grab a 1660 Super if you can still find them in your region? Or grab a 3060 12 gb? Well, assuming you want to stay with Nvidia, of course.
I’ve been getting in to the pc building world, never built or had a pc and I really want one. My budget is in the 700-850 dollar mark. What parts should I choose? Im confused.
Watch any of my pc build guide videos! I have a whole playlist showing you what to build for X dollars from start to finish.
