In my fleet we run Toyo m920 19.5 tires on 60 of our 5500 trucks. they have very good traction in the winter and ice. we average about 80-90,000km per life span when we replace them at 5/32. they are always under load and usually at Max gvw so wear life is really good for such a soft tire. we have also run a Michelin xds2 19.5 with is even softer tire and slightly better in the snow but we only seem to get 60,000km out of them, they are a great tire also but as far as lifespan we don't get much out of them. we have tried many other brands of tires but as far as tire quality, life span, traction and how well they balance up on the balancer. those two have been the best.

Call a flat roofer to get your driveway sprayed with hot asphalt from the road say to about 100 ft in the driveway and when it hardens you'll be able to get up in two wheel drive

The best winter tires I've found for winter is the Radial M/T Mud Star And stud them new it's like having chains on I live at 6750' elevation and we at times get a lot of snow and in spring mud and I've had no trouble going when needed

I've heard of someone else with a Super Duty that has that rattle on the right hand "A" pillar. They said it was something like a loose wiring harness in there rattling around. In my humble opinion, I think it would be worth pulling that cover off and trying to fix it yourself. May the Almighty bless you and your family.
Very impressive power from the truck
If I were you I would ditch the 19.5 wheels And get 20’s “or 18’s if anyone makes them”. And put some 12ply 35-12.50 nitto terragraplers on them. Great mild all-terrain tire. Amazing grip in the wet. Decent off-road capability. Little road noise. And great longevity even with towing heavy. I’ve run them on all my HD trucks and they last 60k+ miles towing 80% of the time. Highly recommend them.
As for the power loss. With that 4.30 gearing, a 10speed transmission, and 1050ft lbs it torque. You’ll notice very minimal power loss. And with taller tires with more sidewall your ride quality will increase. And will give you a little more clearance if you off-road it at all
What is happiness when you are pulling hard at the base of a grade , is the torque management. Its cutting power as its measures the angle of the steer axle, inclination(grade), and throttle position. It's predicting wheel slip and possibly seeing(measured 100s of times per second) lots of weight and lots of torque vs relatively small driveline parts usually end badly. Like I said before in the video when the truck was a no start. 1050lbft x 4.62:1 x 4.30:1 axle is 20859lbft. Max traction that any tire can hold(traction limit) is 75% of the weight its carrying. Given its limited to 9950lb on the rear axle the peak torque before wheel slip would happen is about 7500lbft. If you do the math on the tire ratio to to axle. The max torque of 20859lbft with a 2.8 tire ratio(34.1 tall tire vs 12" torque rating in lbft) is 7449lbft(adjusted). The limit is based on dry road surface. Add water, lower surface temperature, or any other traction deficit variable, that will cause wheelslip. The computer is saving your wallet(twisted off u-joints). To most its much easier to complain about the "lack" of "power" than to try to understand the system, how and why it's does what it does.
It's impressive how you use the truck to lead the trailer in the bad weather. I'm from Michigan and I'm white knuckled watching .. I want the confidence you have when I pull a conventional construction trailer about 6500 lbs.
We run a 245/70R 19.5 Dunlop tires on our 450 and 5500 in the winter time, great mud and snow tire. A bit aggressive but it's worth it
I run Continental HSR steers and Cooper RM257 drives! Great combo! Live in northern Minnesota running 5500 Rams!

Just stumbled upon this channel love working around equipment. Tires um I run the 265 profile on my older style f series trucks. I love em but in the 16" their hard to find. I think ur looking to deep into pros n cons a bit. Keep the same size all the way around .
I've always been comfortable with Michelin Tires. Being a mom and having to drive a lot with the kids a good Dependable tire has always been key and and mishelyne's of always been good to me
I've noticed that the engine/exhaust brake on these truck the rpm will rise but if you start putting on the brakes the turbo boost starts rising and it starts working more to slow down without using alot of brakes
Hey man I’m from sault Ontario and I would love to see your opinion on a duramax. We have a local company called gilbertsons and they have trucks with 600,000km+. They beat the heck out of those trucks and somehow they keep going. Keep up the good work man been around since about a year or so ago and have been loving the vids.
Pulling that kind of weight up hills that you have i would use the manual shift that way you can control power better. Plus its easier on the torque converter
I thought you were going to go down a mountain 🏔 that was a little hill, try this in 4 feet of snow on a 12% grade with 3,000 feet drop in elevation. Fun times man 👍👍

You gotta build a nice shop for yourself go big make it so u tuck the trailer in there maybe some equipment and the truck then you’ll really be spoiled haha
The reason the truck doesn’t know what gear to go in on a steep hill like that is because you have traction control on, and torque management, so it know if it goes in the wrong gear it’ll just melt the tires off, so that it keeping it traction and not sliding.
We run Toyo mt920 on our ram 5500 4x4 and we plow and love them!!!

Toyo M608Z 225/70 19.5 These are about $200.00 a tire cheaper in the lower 48.

Forgot to tell you of the side mirror on your truck that was damaged will be about 500 replacement had the same thing happened on my Mercedes suv.
got hit by a big truck in heavy traffic nothing I could do .if the the mirror is not that badly damaged and it still operates I would suggest just leaving it I know you like everything to be perfect

Highly recommend the Michelin XDS2. I’m running them on a F450 Warwick bucket truck in rural Sask.
I know u said u dont want to switch but im thinking a 20" wheel will give you alot more options as far as tires are concerned. A falken wildpeak at3 is an amazing tire in all weather situations esp snow and they have amazing on-road manners. They dont roar at all and imho they r a great all around choice and come in load range E. No switching from tire tor tire with the seasons. One set will do everything u need all year. My wife has a set of load E falken wildpeak mt's on her truck and she daily'd that for years and it still has 10/32nds tread. Towed with it, drove it in downpours, snow, mud, and they are great as well. Bfg all terrains, and nitto all terrains and ridge grapplers are good from what ive hear also but i have personal experience with the falkens. Best of luck with whatever you choose!

i dont know what the trucking laws r there in Canada but here in THE USA if the trailer weights 10,000 lbs or more te driver must have a class A CDL trucking permit i have know some racers that got caught with out a class A CDL the fines was extremely high!
Minimum license here in Nova Scotia is class 3 with a condition 15 to allow you to haul a trailer over 10,000lbs

Watching you stick your hand in the mulcher made me cringe and I know how important it is to know things are running freely But with so many things being controlled electronically or however ? Excavator Frozen and wet, likely nothing would go wrong (But they do!) All things "should be!" watertight But I have seen a spilled coffee and things Screw Up Electronics in very dangerous ways... or old school evenfall against or machine shift and I know you're on flat ground! Looks like you're working alone a lot? So Spartan yourself rate up ok 🤏

Umm yep, its a work truck...that's pretty normal for trucks actually being used as a truck...doesn't matter if its a diesel or gas, it'll get shit for fuel economy when you are towing heavy loads up hills LOL.

With everything going to those stupid LED lights, next up will be a winter/cold weather package that includes heated lights to keep the head/tail lights clear of snow/ice....pretty stupid design to have gone to LEDs for very important lights...people don't realize how much that's going to cost to replace those light assemblies, yep assemblies, you have to replace the whole thing, can't just replace a $10 incandescent bulb anymore, or a single LED, its the whole $400-600 left or right side assembly.
