& now when Bumrah's captaincy has also started a whole lot of controversy
we need to revist this idea that fast bowlers or even bowlers for that matter can't become captains

from venkatraghvan to kumble
we try to understand
why exactly does BUmrah's captaincy matters. - Zábava
Lasith Malinga (fast bowler) was the T20 World Cup winning captain back in 2014. And that was the major tournament win for Sri Lanka since 2002. I personally think having a bowler as a captain isn't gonna effect the team in a bad way, specially since it's a sport based on teamwork.
Ravi Ashwin can also be a wonderful captain. Hear how he makes plans for each and every batsman in the series bandon mei tha dum
The thing is he overthinks which isn't required
@@syedkamran8768 if it was not req than how come has he reached the level he is at.
He can be a good captain bcz of his game understanding but it's difficult to count him as a permanent option in away tours
He was captain of king 11 Punjab for a while
doesn't have a fixed spot in away matches can be a captain big 🧢
Correction : Bumrah's average speed is anywhere between 130 -145 km/hr depending upon the source. (Never again will i enter the valley of miles/Kilometer, it's a maze of confusion)
Sorry for the mistake.
No worries brother. Awesome video.❤️
1 mile= 1.61 km simple maths to avoid that valley
it doesn't matter ...the content and the video theme is more important to actual cricket fans than some uncommon numbers and linguistic trash...u did wat was best to ur knowledge keep up and don't worry abt people who have never posted a single video

Mashrafe Morata of Bangladesh was a good ODI captain in my opinion. He really changed the way Bangladesh play ODI. From being absolute disaster to decent these days.
Yes, Mashrafe Mortaza is the best captain of Bangladesh until this day.
Abe kaise chilla raha tha 2015 ma world Cup vs india
@@allinonetube3387 so what if he shouted it is his way of expressing his energy on the field
In modern cricket wicket keeper captains play a key role. MS Dhoni and Sangakara were strong in reading Batsman's game, Bowlers strengths and weakness by keeping behind the stumps.
Even Gilchrist too.
Pat Cummins as captain was revolutionary. Australia won the WTC and World Cup against the formidable team that India had. Now he's the 2nd highest bid in the Auction. I wouldn't be surprised if he's made captain for SRH for IPL 2024.
So true. Even in street play, the bowling is given to the street urchin while batting taken by the child of a house owner
A bowler captain's job is more tough than a batsman as a captain. It is a good sign for Indian cricket & hopefully as Bumrah said that he learn from his mistakes.
Gald to know that you too have the same views as I've on fast bowlers' captaincy! Now, that I've your words & facts & stats, I can put this PoV up with confidence whenever me & my friends have a random discussion on the game as a whole!
I honestly loved Bumrah's captaincy.. there was a certain kind of fire in him which blazed even brighter and the other players were trying to match that fire which made them bring out the best of themselves.. though we didn't win the match, I have one more phase Indian cricket to look forward to
i like bumrah

Thanks a lot brother...was a bit difficult with work and everything
I think you didn’t know abot Mashrafe Bin Mortaza of Bangladesh who is seamer and a great captain. Many believe that he is the best Bangladeshi captain
hehe some time ago probably half a year ago when dropped your Indian captaincy video I had asked you in the comments to make a video on bowlers being captains whether it's the work load etc... And here we are 😁
Glenn Mcgrath
Brett Lee
Shane Warne.... neither of them captained Australia....
Pat Cummins broke this.....
Shane Warne was the closed to reach that. His lifestyle got in the way😢
Every time I listen to your channel it feels like I wanna listen all of the videos again and the accent make it more interesting...
If a batsman screws up, the team can rectify. but if a bowler screws up, it is hard to come back. Imagine this, 15 runs required in the last over. Captain has an over left but is doing badly, one more bowler has overs left, but was doing well. Can you rely on the bowlers to be objective and not to go for glory? You can say that about batsmen too, but batters have a chance to change the strike in middle of the over, but bowlers can't.
Well that's a very lame argument.... Many batters have sacrificed their spot for their team... The most prominent one being ganguly, he sacrificed his spot for sehwag. Once one becomes captain, they tend to put their team's result first.
So you are saying bowlers don't have impulse control? All they care is glory. That's messed up. Just blatantly wrong.
@@Victor_Trumper no, I'm saying if a bowler goes for glory, it's an entire over. When a batter does it, he can salvage it to an extent. I'm not saying they will, but if a bowler loses objectivity, it'll be much more painful than if a batter does
Now that Cummins won the World Cup as well, I believe it is time to shed more light into it.
Yes, unfortunately batting is considered as a greater privilege compared to bowling. It's in the mindset. While, i understand especially in test cricket, there are more challenges for a bowler to captain than a batsmen, any good skilled bowler and knowledgeable and tactically sound can bring in different angle to leadership.
just like defenders in football. even though defending way difficult than striking.
reason it's entertaining to watch some score a goal or hit a six. not get hit
@@sharathvasudev very true. Makes sense.

I’m really enjoying these vids they r very informative and could u do a vid about joe root 10,000 runs
it's always better to have a batsman or wicketkeeper as captain, coz most of the captaincy decisions are made while fielding. a bowler can't have additional stress on him while bowling. this is logic
Love your content my friend keep them coming!!
Great video once again, such good story telling
I like your content and appreciate the perfect video editing which is apt for your voice 👌
Good content, keep it up! Few Corrections though:
1) 90 kmph is the speed at which Ashwin bowls and "All the way up to 140" means 140 is his top speed. His registered top speed is 153 and generally bowls in 135-145 range.
2) Bowlers is pronounced as "Bowl-ers", not "Ball-ers"
its not 153 its 153.26kph and its pronounced more like boh.luhz and not bowl-ers just a minor correction keep up the good spoting
@@phantom_psyche and what is 'spoting'?
Its or it's??
@@phantom_psyche Maybe, you are very young but when you go to Class V, you will learn the concept of rounding off, where you'll learn that 153.26 could be rounded off to 153.3 or 153.
Also, the "r" in bowler is not silent, so your correction was incorrect. Don't trust me, pls check the internet.
Lastly, it's spotting, not spoting.
I corrected the youtuber because I genuinely like his content, and I want him to fix a minor error that he does repeatedly. I am responding to you just because I have some time in my hand. I am sure you'll learn these things when you go to higher classes.
@@illzn06 I guess u should check the internet for pronunciation of bowler, may be you didn't go to a good school. Anyways it happens a with people who make pointing mistakes their life. Bye I need to go for my tutions😜
@@phantom_psyche I can't teach you how to check the internet, please ask some of your tuition buddies. About pointing mistakes, you should practice what you preach. Generally CZcamsrs respect feedback that's helpful to them. My feedback was for the Channel and it was meant to be taken by the CZcamsr in the correct spirit. You are the one who made a pointless response while pointing out mistakes in an incorrect way and I responded to you because I had some time in my hand after a while. Anyway, I urge you to learn the spelling of Tuition as well... There are many other things you need to learn but for now your assignments are: 1) learn how to check the pronunciation of English words in the internet 2) Learn the spelling of Tuition
Mashrafi, the legendary bd fast bowler, became captain and changed bd cricket history,
Amazing❤️loved it
Hey!
I would really appreciate if you make a video continuing the captaincy one. Seeing currently how we have a new captain every other series
HI average pace is 140km/h bro. 90km/h average is like a spinners average, 125 -130 km/h is a medium pacer average.
Bro Shaun pullock was captain and he lead his team preety qell.
Heat streak was one of the great in the foundation of Zimbabwe
Pat Cummins now. Australian bowler captain big thing.
Anil kumble.
there's probably a reason why batters are made captains. The chance/risk of injury to a bowler is higher and especially if you are fast bowler it goes a few notches up. That may derail the functioning of the team. Especially in modern times where workload mgt has become so much more critical for fast bowlers
What a voice... I can die for it... ❤️❤️
100% cricket is rigged towards batting.... Like a century which is more common than a 5 Wicket is celebrated and remembered more...
Man of match lists...etc..
But when it comes to captainship regular availability is a valid reasoning along with couple of reasons you listed...
That's why the previous mindset that bowlers should not be captain is not relevant in today's time....
A fast bowler may not be in playing 11 where track favours spin or vice versa but some batsman are sure in playing 11.
Bumrah was consistent part of playing 11 hence desicion was made... Anil kumble etc...
Also bowlers have shorter career span than batsman (in general) thus changing captain every now and then is also not a suggestive option.
Hi, I love your videos they are amazingly created and narrated. My one request, I am sure Gautam Gambhir would have some such story to be narrated about. Can you pls create one on him ? I am his big fan
All-rounder as captains probably makes some sense because they are usually not the top bowler in the side
IMO cricket in india(and maybe around the world) has always been about Runs, sixes, fours, centuries
When a batsman hits a six, it's a spectacle, people cheer and clap
When a bowler bowls a dot ball, it's overlooked
For some reason bowling and fielding have never been appreciated enough in cricket throughout history
Batsmen have always been the face of teams and cricket itself
I believe This is also part that lead to batsmen usually being captains
And i think it caught on from the upper-class and lower-class explanation you gave
But things are changing now I suppose
It's same in most sports, defenders and goalkeepers are always outshined by strikers and forwards in football, everyone knows messi and ronaldo but not many know Ramos and van dijk
@@TheLondonSystem true....
Just fours and sixes, it's about who did how many goals
Unfortunately the same in Pakistan, atlthough we have always had a bit of an attachement to fast bowlers
@@zaydjawad3653 Pakistan had some of the greatest Fast bowlers.....specially in 90s and early 2000s

Please make a video on Yuzvendra Chahal being dropped from T20 wc 2021 even though he is in best form and the best spinner for India in recent times.
Bowling captains can make the field positions more favourable for wicket taking, while allowing to concede more runs.
Batting captains aim for weakness in batters or to set field for the opponent batters. So, there's a balance in wickets and runs conceded.
bowlers need to be rested.... especially fast bowlers.....if a bowler becomes captain then he will have to play every match which will become a burden on him
in the recently concluded ashes, Starc Hazlewood and boland were rotated and each of them was given adequate rest but Cummins being captain had to play every match
this is a strong reason why a fast bowler shouldn't be made captain
Brother waiting eagerly for your QnA video ...
In Nepal Bowler is Caption , who is Sandeep Lamichhane 🇳🇵
6:18 I understand you mentioned about test captains here.. Coz Kapil Dev as non spinner has led India team we all know.. Just an advice to specify you are talking about test captains in case someone is watching this video from middle will get confused since your video showcases men in odi jersey also.
Bumrah is our bowling legend
One of the important argument i would like to put forward is that bowlers and especially fast bowlers are more frequently and injured and need rest often . So having captain with periodic change is disastrous
Great Video
No Comparision to Virat and Bumrah....each has thier own style and they are good at that..
thanks for the video
Cummins, Bumrah, Stokes and now Southee. An era of fast bowlers becoming captains?
Shaheen maybe soon..
And as captain, he broke the batting record for the most runs scored in an over. Ironically.
Many people always believed bowlers can't be captains but instead bowler's mind works more
Shaheen afridi became captain under him lahore qalandars completely changed. So its true.
even though i support bumrah as a captain the injury argument is some what correct , he hasn't played any cricket (at the time of this comment) after this series
oone of the reason of our loss in wtc final and t20 wc
India's 15 member squad for t20 wc 2022: Rahul,Ishan,Rohit,Virat,Pant,Surya,Hooda,Hardik,Jadeja,Harshal,Bhuvaneshwar,Bumrah,Chahal,Axar,Arshdeep.
I always used to think that why mostly Batsman become all rounders
Kapil Dev and Wasim Akram were only few captains who were good bowlers
Loved the video again. ❤️ Waiting for some undiscovered stories.
The West Indies captaincy is the most efficient machine for converting bowlers into Batting All rounders.
Dravid + Bumrah could be a great combination.
great bowler but unfortunately tough to be a pacer captain in such a star team like India
Amazing
I would like to see Ashwin as captain of test cricket
Make a video on 1990-91 Ranji Trophy final
It is very irritating to watch even newbie batsmen who have hardly played 10 tests being made into captains and barking orders at senior fast bowlers about the line and length that they have to bowl.
Nice
shaheen afridi is the best 2022 psl captain lq was sturrgling to win but shaheen as captain made them 1st time champs
well, Shane Warne was a bowler and in my opinion, the best captain ever produced by cricket.
Very true.
Being a RR fan, I remember him every IPL.
Pls make a video on steve Buckner why did he hate india spl sachin
now cummins won aus the world cup 23 vs ind
No mention of Mashrafe 😏
Wow!!! The visual imagery was amazing in this one , along with the narration
Video on Gautam Gambhir!!
The main issue with fast bowler captain is the injury factor which is too prominent
Especially within fast bowlers
I love fast bowling. It's a passion. Those who don't have it just can't have it.
Bumrah is still the third option for india
I don't think bowler as a captain is a good idea because he has to do a exhausting job of fast bowling and then his body and mind is not capable of taking decisions Australian bowlers are different they are very fit you can see the tiredness of a indian fast bowler after just bowling 4-5 overs
how did you forget Pakistani bowlers who captained their trophy winning sides ???
After watching this video Cummins is laughing his ass off
What about wks? What is their share?
Pat Cummins finally won the ICC championship!
Views about Hardik the captain?
Even zaheer khan could have been a good captain kumble a bowler did well as captain bowler being captain is not a bad idea
Bhumra is going to win us 2023 World Cup 🎉❤
I believe Broad was English captain as well for a short time.
Man I don't know about your current job, but you have a real chance in sports journalism, please think about it, there is one CZcams channel 'think school' which is kind of similar to your channel but instead of sports it has videos of business studies, I strongly feel you will also reach to that level, you just need to increase frequency of videos i.e. think school posts video every two days
