England's Elvis!! Beautifully done production!
It’s almost unfathomable how influential this one man was. He single handedly carried RocknRoll to England and made it famous.
Talking about Cliff and The Shadows being the best rock n roll combo in the 50s and 60s, they still are to this day.
Excellent cover of Elvis' '57 rocker from Loving You also covered by Roy Orbison. Love this period of Cliff Richard, all those early 45EP's and foreign ones too, Great artist.
This clip really shows why Cliff and The Shads were the best combo around in the late 50’s and early 60’s, Cliff’s at his best when singing rocky numbers.

Very true about Sir Cliff's management vs. the scumbag Elvis had. You make an excellent point. Sir may have not had the longevity if the wrong person took control of his career. He was required to put on the quivering lips and facial "Elvis" look though to pull in the female fans.
He came into his own later which was his true self. Best thing he could have done for his career was to be his amazing self. He still pulled the female fan base... :D

Shame it had to go all variety show just as Hank's solo came in.
Absolutely agree. I have no idea what those supposed dancers are meant to be saying or representing. They don't even look particularly mean. I would rather just see Cliff and The Shads in close up so we can see who is playing what and how. This sort of dancing seems very much of its time and totally out of place.
@@Natterlee As you have intimated it's very much of the times, when rock n roll culture was a long way from taking a hold of the uk. The Beatles early tours for example, sharing the bill with jugglers and puppet acts.

Did you know that Elvis recorded Cliff's "I gotta know" ? As usual the Elvis version is far better thanks to the Jordanaires backing and musical arrangements. I still like Cliff's version tho.

英美貓王50年代已各據争雄，早期的奇利夫台风確實有點像貓王（有可能受貓王的影响吧！）。但繼後他漸漸創造了自己己形象，就算是唱貓王的Mean woman blues 及Don't be cool 都是用自己的唱法去演繹。有头腦!!
I get so annoyed with myself that I just don't enjoy the early cliff rock and roll.
It laid the foundation for what was to come of course and Cliff had some beautiful ballads in the early years but his Elvis Prickly style back then and the actual songs (Move It being the obvious exception) just didn't do it for me.
Anyone who views anything cliff related on CZcams will be acutely aware I am a massive fan of cliff as I comment upon practically all uploads but these early clips I tend to view out of loyalty to the greatest pop singer in the history of the world.
Best I leave it there.
