My sweet Mom had dementia. I was her caregiver. The last few months she couldn't speak, but she could belt out glorious hymns whenever I played them for her. What a wonderful blessing I'll always remember.

My husband didn't know me or where he was, but, I played Mark's Facebook programs and it would calm him down. He would try to sing along on songs he remembered.
I feel so blessed that I have found Brenda in mark you both touch my heart so much. I lost my Husband too vascular dementia also. But I'll tell you when I went through for the past 5 years I would take back in a A heartbeat. I'm only 63 and I dealt with it until the very end. It was my faith that kept me strong kept me going. I feel so blessed with everything that I have. You're singing songs really touch my heart Thank you for coming into my life.

Brenda I make pickled beets the way your Mama did. Made them that way in a restaurant where I used to cook. My Grandma was the first cook hired there and then my aunt. I was 14 years old when I was hired. Am almost 62 now. Like you, I was also a school teacher. Love you and Mark to pieces!

I remember when Ben Speer had dementia and he was singing with the Gaither group.
We had a lady who lived to 101 years of age. At the end she couldn’t talk but she had been the music director of the church. So someone got her one of those lap pianos and she could play any song the preacher named when he visited. The doctor said something about muscle memory. When the got together they would put on an hours worth of entertainment.

True about the new stove, I think it’s for energy efficiency(haha) and safety for people who walk away from the stove. You are supposed to stand at the stove while you’re cooking (duh).

I have a gas cooktop. It uses propane. I can cook even when the power is out! I would never go back to electric.
