    Thanks for the video! I had exactly the same problem after dropping it while brushing, straight on the head. Took it all apart expecting the cast aluminum head anchor to be broken (that's what it was last time) but nope. Took it all the way further apart and didn't find the plate cracked the way you did. In fact, I didn't find anything amiss. I did notice there was zero gap between my magnet and drive, so I gapped it when I reassembled it, and voila, it worked. I suspect that the magnet shifted when I dropped it.
    Only thing I think is missing from the video is how to separate the motor/drive from the battery/board:
    1. remove the spring/rubber bushing between the two parts, by compressing the spring towards the battery and then lifting the spring/rubber bushing straight out
    2. the drive half slides away from the battery then lifts off: slide it as far as you can, then there are two small black clips which you can't see which need to be pressured a bit. With some small force pulling the drive half away from the battery, slide a small screwdriver from the side of the toothbrush, between the black plastic part on the battery half and the steel sled of the magnet holder. (see video here czcams.com/video/9H7epLyJMME/video.html at time 3-05)
    The only other thing is that before doing any work on the brush I would disable the battery/power by desoldering the jumper J1 on the electronics board near the induction coil.

    Excellent repair video! Thank you for showing us how to repair these models of Sonicare toothbrushes. Phillips Sonicare toothbrushes are very effective, but their designs have some significant flaws. My older Sonicare (with the much thicker handle) is still working after ten years or so--but the brush heads on that model do not seal well at all, and grow disgusting black mold inside. I had to take the heads apart frequently and clean them, but the mold could never be completely eliminated--and even if it could be totally cleaned, more will soon grow back due to the bad design. Phillips never acknowledged that the problem existed--probably, the greedy bastards just wanted people to keep buying more new brush heads--which were unnecessarily expensive! These newer, slimmer models don't have that particular problem, but clearly they have issues of their own. But I doubt that there's a better rechargeable toothbrush available from any other manufacturer, so we're kind of stuck with Phillips!

    • @TinC33
      @TinC33  Před 2 lety

      Thanks, if you notice i got another sonicare video with 3 different fails.
      About sonicare i don't know are you read my mind but what you say is exactly my opinion, sonicare is far the best toothbrush i try but as you say got a few cons, first one i notice is rubber housing where the mold start growing if we don't wipe them after every use, the steel part transfer lot of power so i would say it's a bit too weak (weak point of brush) if brush fall on the floor that part most likels broke and toothbrush is for trash only. They fix housing material on black diamond so it's not delicate on mold but battery life is much much shorter than on older models, and also to charge it need a whole day or even 2, maybe it's make to put into charging glass every day idk, but after all thanks to china to sell entire vibrating mechanism for $15 wich work just like genuine one.

    Thank you so much for your videos (this one and 3 different fails). I have the same Sonicare with the UV cleaner and about 6 weeks ago I noticed that the shaft is moving differently. I am hoping the easy fix is just tightening the screw. The thing that I am concerned with is that the rubber part around the shaft is black and since I have had the brush a long time I did not remember it being a different color until I saw your videos. I take very good care of my unit so can you tell me any reason why it would look like that. I did also notice the rubber part is torn, does that have anything to do with it? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

    • @TinC33
      @TinC33  Před 2 lety

      Black thing is a mold wich become on hidden part, manual says we need to take off the brush after every use and wipe it with towel, i don't do that but just wipe it after every use, it's not problem because you don't put that part in your mouth but if the rubber is broken water can leak into brush and after time brush will become demaged, so check on ebay for new rubber and replace it if you want to use your brush in the future.

    I bought 2 diamond clean phillips toothbrushes - pink and black. Batteries stopped working approximately 1 1/2 year later. We tried to replace them but it was not easy. I contacted phillips for repair services and they did not want to do anything if there is no warranty was purchased at the time of sale. So for a $220 electric toothbrush (I paid $440) it was a pretty short life span. What got me upset is that phillips did not want to help in any way and this was the end of it. I will not buy from phillips again and do not recommend it!

    Ever consider buying a new brush and swapping the internal parts? Then returning the new brush with the broken parts for a FULL REFUND? If enough people did that, MAYBE SonicCare would learn their lesson and supply parts themselves. Think about how many of the brushes end up in the city dump! Chaaaa....CHING!!!

    • @TinC33
      @TinC33  Před 3 lety

      You think in right way, but it's stil cheating, that part is a big problem i understand because it's need to be hardened to the limit, otherwise it wont transfer that much energy and the brush will be same as some chineese one, i thing firstly philips need to tell us clearly (on package, into manual...) how delicate this part is and how important is to be gentle with brush, and while traveling always remove brush head...
