    The most common fix that I do is get rid of the yellow dot on the left side of gauge cluster. Usually cost me about 80euros 😂

    20:00 I'm dreading going under there to inspect mine after my shifter developed some play lol the carrier clip on my e46 is different, it's only one bushing and it's further back on the transmission. I replaced all the bushing when the trans was out doing the clutch job 7 years ago, I'm surprised OEM bushing failed so soon, noticed the slop more after replacing the engine mounts when shifter started vibrating in gear.

    • @OEMplusRESTO
      @OEMplusRESTO  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Yeah the stock bushings dont last that long sadly. A good thing is that when changed, they offer s noticeably better shifting feel and less slop. What car do you have?

    • @justfasial01
      @justfasial01 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@OEMplusRESTO yup I remember how good it was with the new bushings, will def try the powerflex this time and it's 330i 5 speed.

      @OEMplusRESTO  Před 4 měsíci +1

      @justfasial01 i really like them so i say go for it:) ive been told the dssr’s are really good too. But i felt they wwre a bit too expensive imo. Maybe you could consider those.
      Love that car. Im considering getting an automatic one for a dd. Had an e39 with that combo before. Superb engine. Im a bit biased though😅 hope you sort it out either way💪

    • @justfasial01
      @justfasial01 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@OEMplusRESTO Yup those were my thoughts aswell on the DSSR. It really is a nice car, 160k miles on mine and I'm planning on driving it until the m54 dies lol

      @OEMplusRESTO  Před 4 měsíci +1

      @justfasial01 then you’ll be driving it forever maybe. i bought a touring with that engine once. It had almost 500k km’s as i recall it. Engine felt and drove fine👌i love this engine. Peak non-m stright six bmw imo

    hey Tim, what do you think about going from 2.93 to 3.15 or 3.38 on a 5 speed 330Ci? What do you think the best option is?

    • @OEMplusRESTO
      @OEMplusRESTO  Před 9 měsíci

      Hi Jacekp. Imo a 3.38 would be too much for a 5speed that sees highway driving.
      I think the difference between 2.93 and 3.15 is too small to make a meaningful impact for the money spent.
      Having swapped from a 3.38 to a 2.93 (in a 6speed car) i can say the 2.93 makes for a much more relaxing drive. But also, it seems, alot slower

    • @jacekp8366
      @jacekp8366 Před 9 měsíci

      @@OEMplusRESTO hmm, how about 3.23 instead? that's the only middle-ground diff ratio between 3.15 and 3.38 :/

    • @OEMplusRESTO
      @OEMplusRESTO  Před 9 měsíci

      @@jacekp8366 hmm.. i just ran all the ratios through a rear gear calculator.. if you can live with 3000rpm +/-100rpm depending on wheel size at 110kmh then 3.38 is fine and would definitely wake your car up

    • @OEMplusRESTO
      @OEMplusRESTO  Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@jacekp8366 hi.. i just redid the math. My calculations were wrong. Youll be at about 3100-3200prm at 110kmh with that 3.38.. imo thats too much if you do alot of highway driving
      But if you can wait 2-3 weeks ill have a video up on it with more details and possibly a 3.15 i test as well
      I can simulate the 5speed version also by just leaving it in 5th gear so it will cover both 5 and 6 speeds

    • @jacekp8366
      @jacekp8366 Před 9 měsíci +2

      @@OEMplusRESTO thanks for the input. I am also considering a 3.23 from a 325i automatic. Also a big case so it should go in p&p. I let my friend drive my car recently and he too noticed that the 2nd gear is especially too long for dynamic driving.
