Bell Mountain, GA - Fall Colors - 4K (DJI Mavic Air 2 Footage) Stunning Aerial Drone Shots!

- Bell Mountain is a mountain overlooking Lake Chatuge and the City of Hiawassee in Georgia. This 18 acre mountain top - known as Bell Mountain Park - has incredible views! This mountain is a must do when visiting the North Georgia Mountains!
The Hal Herrin Estate donated the summit of Bell Mountain to Towns County, Ga. In 2016 , the summit became Bell Mountain Park. The County paved a road to the top of the mountain and erected two platforms , one of the platforms rising to 3,424 feet - towering over the highest point on Bell Mountain & offering 360 degrees around the mountain.
Here's a little bit of the history of Bell Mountain:
- In 1963, three men from Murphy, NC decided that they could mine the top of Bell Mountain for it's minerals. The men failed at this attempt and left what some call the scar of the mountain - with a gapping hole in the middle. After the failed attempt for mining - the mountain was purchased by a local resident, Hal Herrin. Hal Herrin bought the mountain to save it from future damage to the mountain. Mr. Herrin donated the property after his death to Towns County.
The second scar of the mountain is the graffiti placed on the rocks around the summit of the mountain. Spray Painting on the mountain is strictly prohibited now - but the scars placed prior - are still present. The county was hoping that the building of the road to the park & more people visiting the park would help stop the graffiti increasing on this beautiful knob.

I hiked to the top with some friends in August 1977 -- long before there was a parking lot and wooden observation deck and stairs at the top. Great views! Thanks for the video. Good job.

Wow!, beautiful shots and awesome views. By any chance do you remember when was this video shot? i mean dates. I see video uploaded on 30th last year but wanted to know which week is good for such colors. We would like to plan traveling there accordingly. Thank you

Thank you Metro on the Move . Appreciate your comments as always. Four years ago you had to hike this summit before there was a road paved to the top. I would recommend going a little south of Hiawassee to the Unicoi State Park area - so many trails to a lot of cool waterfalls. Check on Anna Ruby Falls. Make sure you check out the large trout close to the start of the hike. Thanks again for watching and commenting
