Hondo Harrelson recruits Jim Street to join an elite unit of the Los Angeles Police Department. Together they seek out more members, including tough Deke Kay and single mom Chris Sanchez. The team's first big assignment is to escort crime boss Alex Montel to prison. It seems routine, but when Montel offers a huge reward to anyone who can break him free, criminals of various stripes step up for the prize.

They would've failed if the shooter in the cockpit actually did something about the moving panel that he was directly staring at.
I assume the point is that in reality the shooter wouldn't constantly keep an eye on just the panel. Now the shooters knew something was going to happen and more or less what. Also without the SWAT guy on the front, the shooter still had a perfect bottleneck. I'd argue his main fault was not standing behind a corner or such to not be visible from the outside.
@@MDP1702 They would probably hole up at a low port @ the corner right behind the cockpit. That way, downwards rapelling SWAT will find it hard to 1. See, and 2. accurately hit the target. The actor would also have an immense advantage in the ensuing gunfight in terms of exposed portion of body. It would be a very likely win for him unless there were tactical distracts or visual impairments used
How did he got in to the cockpit? (in 5 seconds tops)
You should change the quote to "Its a shame your not playing one of the terrorists" I love that line 🤣
Relax bruh
You should go and cook me some eggs on toast with some salt and pepper and a little bit of bacon.
@@Smellmipoo4932 now I'm hungry.
Idk why you’re getting hate for your comment but any line would be better over the first class one… 🙄
Old Movies are sooooo refreshing nowadays. Can't believe how bad it has gotten now.
Old?
@@poorfordtransitowner1627it came out 20 years ago. . . Ya. Old xD
*Some , I feel you tho it’s like they spend more money and the product gets worse .
Facts
This movie is shit and isn't old. Old is like 50 years onward
Recruit rush, works every time.
The last half of the movie was somewhat a little ridiculous imo, but first half was pretty damn solid and showed what a SWAT team would actually do instead of being a trigger happy combat testing minions for antagonists
TIME IS RUNNING OUT
A movie where Samuel L. Jackson didn't die.
He died in 18 movies
And starred in what, 100?
Edit: 130.
cool fact
This movie had a ton of big names crazy
Yeah, cos 20 years ago they weren’t big names. Look at Black Hawk Down…
they all had to start somewhere eh?
2:49 I always hated how the pulling and the going-up are so asynchronous! :D
Not to mention that one man woudnt be enough to lift him up that easy.
@@vladmuresan08 if the one pulling weighed more than the one getting pulled then yes one man can lift the other using a simple pulley system (the plane's fuselage being the "wheel"); as for the asynchronous one pulls and the other lifts the rope would have some elasticity to it hence the lag
What a great movie.
loved the movie
My favourite film of all time
It's hilarious that anyone would ever think that LAPD SWAT would be utilized for doing a hostage rescue of a jet. I mean, I guess it's good to train for just in case, but this would 100% be handled by the FBI's HRT.
Maybe. But if time was of the essence, you're not gonna want to wait for Hostage Rescue to fly all the way from Virginia, just to get to the scene.
you know what they say, "You are either SWAT or you are not SWAT"
Never heard of this movie but it looks pretty good.
It’s a fun movie! Find it on a DVD since I’m positive that Netflix isn’t streaming it.
Song: Time is running out by Apollo440
Pretty sure any scenario like this would be the domain of FBI SWAT, or even more likely, FBI HRT, rather than any local PD SWAT team. I suppose it's not impossible LAPD would get some training on it, with LAX being such a massive hub, but I'm positive the FBI would flop their jurisdiction out on the table and overrule them if anything happened for real.
It's a movie.
Doesn’t hurt for them to still have the skill set and training. Rather have it and not need it.
Smaller airports and emergencies where they can't wait for the feds, makes sense they would want to be prepared.
Yeah, I agree. I think the reason local PD SWATs train for it is in the event of like a mass coordinated attack where the HRT might be tied up elsewhere. But really the days of hostage scenarios by terrorists are over, so it's kind of irrelevant.
fair point, also within the context of the movie the police captain had it out for this SWAT team in particular and wanted it to fail so he's giving them the rarest and most difficult trials. The character says at the start "they always give us the bus", so the plane raid is rare as you say it's probably HRT usually.
Back when movies were cool
Michelle Rodriguez really showing her range in this movie
who plays Leticia Letty Ortiz-Toretto in Fast & Furious Movies!
All I see and hear is Letty but in SWAT gear
😂😂😂😂😂
What range? This shows she can only play tough women roles.
@@AA-rc1nyshe's gone on record saying she regrets taking the same roles over and over because now that's all she gets offered. She typecasted herself. I'm sure she has range but sadly we'll likely never see it.
the paintball splat on the team member changes position, on the inital impact its a spot higher and has a diferrent pattern to the one he reveals at the end
New course record? 😅
i call it new course fuck up
Ich sehe noch kein positives Verhältnis von Aufwand zu nutzen. Dann doch besser die Samen in einer Baumschule ziehen und dann verpflanzen?
2001 The fast and furious: Brian O'Connor goes rogue and decides being a street racer is more fun than being a cop.
2003 SWAT: After years of street racing and robbing Letty turns to the FBI to clear Dom's record.
2009 Fast and Furious: After years being on the run for street racing and robbing Letty turns to the LAPD.
(Neal H. Moritz produced all 3 and Paul Walker was originally going to play the main character Jim Street)
I wish he had. Colin Ferrel never really felt like a good fit for this role.
how does SWAT know how many targets there are?
They designed the mission, duh
the recent t.v series is a good watch too
its almost like they changed script writers in the middle of filming.
I never understood why everyone had to wear ear muffs? its fake paintball guns
Incase you got shot in the ear lol
@@Alex-ql9gw So true! My buddies and I were goofing around in some empty field with airsoft guns shooting at each other, I had shooting goggles on but no full face protection at the time and got a full auto spray in the ear. Started bleeding like crazy for a good 10 minutes.
You have to train in full kit to be prepared for the real thing. You don’t practice for a football game without helmets or going over all of the plays right? You don’t study 80% of the material for a final exam and expect to get 100% right? What you should do it study for more than what is being required and you add weights in training in order to push you towards your limits to be better than everyone else. In fact, for real missions in SWAT or the military, you actually bring MORE gear than what you need in case things go wrong; whether in be bad intel, unpredictable circumstances, or things malfunctioning. Being overprepared is better than having just enough.
You also need to know they're not shooting paintballs with compressed air their shooting a special kind of paint bullet that uses a primer and powder just like a regular bullet. So you're still going to have the high decibel increase from the round going off and your also in a confined space which retains all that sound
@@Kresh42 ouch damn
these people are too nosy like really too nosy

Only the "bad guys" wearing ear defenders and goggles....sheeesh, easy af.
