It's amazing how time turns that from a statement of honour and code to one of corruption.
Ignoring what's done against you is forgiveness. Ignoring what's done against someone else is corruption. That's the difference.
And let's face it, the bit with the Chief reaming him out for slugging a suspect is probably the least plausible moment in the entire film.

I'd argue both situations are examples of corruption. If you strike another officer and they don't report it, it means the officer is getting a form of treatment someone on the street wouldn't get. It's not an "honor code". It's still corruption.
Yeah, it can so easily go from not reporting the officer when he hits you to not reporting him when he hits someone else. If you're not doing everything by the book, where do you draw the line?

It's been a very very long time since I watched this movie. I forgot Rony Cox was in this film and it's probably the first movie I ever saw him in. Of course he was I'm many great films. But I remember him as Captain Jelico on Star Trek TNG. I was floored to see him in a TV show vs being in movies like Robocop and Total Recall.
Even TV Law Enforcement was so different than today!

Depends upon how hard they are jammed in. A lose fit and they just get blown out without causing much problems. Totally blocked it can, a better choice is a large potato or two that works sometimes. Its a question of how much pressure the blocked exhaust causes before it stops the exhaust leaving the engine.

Hey a Delorean DMC-12 just parked on the street randomly. Maybe people didn’t care about their cars back then or nobody was breaking into them but I wouldn’t leave that baby on the street anywhere to get vandalized or stolen.
