There's this girl. She's creative, smart, unique -- amazing -- and you've liked her since the first time you met. You can't help being drawn to her whenever you're together with your mutual friends. There's only one problem. For some reason, she seems to hate you, and you don't know why. But tonight her roommates are having a party, and you intend to tell her how you feel. You hope that you can straighten things out...

Nightshade's notes: I wanted to do something for pride month, but you know me, I try not to assign any particular gender, orientation, or other type of identity to my listener character. I really like to keep my audios inclusive. So ideally, since I am bi/pan myself, I wanted to portray a bi/pan speaker character. But I was having a hard time finding something like that. So when the month was nearing an end and I hadn't found the right script? I realized I was trying too damn hard. I've had this script by softlikestatic saved forever, and now was the perfect excuse to use it. Static allows genderflipping of characters, so I simply mentioned that the ex in the script was female, and now we have representation of a queer speaker. And arguably one of the better kinds of representation -- it's just there, a normal part of life, and no one has an issue with it.
Makenzie Mazing was kind enough to record a few lines as one of their friends, looking for them during the party. It was just a small thing, and I could have probably just increased the volume of the crowd in the background for a moment, but I think what she did there was perfect for the moment. She said the lines perfectly. My headcanon is this -- that was Kendall, you know, the one you went on one date with some time ago. Jordan's roommate. :grin: And another headcanon -- she was the only one there who hadn't figured out where the two of them went and what, exactly, they were doing. Someone else probably poked their head in earlier and then immediately turned on their heel to give them privacy. I mean, it's the kitchen. People should be going in and out like crazy. I think their friends were out there running interference, keeping people out, because by god, it was about time those two finally hooked up! The tension was terrible! So in my headcanon, when Makenzie aka Kendall came looking for them, one of their other friends patiently led her away to get another drink. From the keg in the living room. Or maybe a soda from the cooler on the balcony, idk. Just. Somewhere FAR away from the kitchen.
Second, more minor headcanon -- the other roommates are continually arguing about the music in the other room. That's why there are pauses in between songs, and why the type of music changes a couple of times. Roommates, man.
I should also thank Timeraft for unintentionally helping me get a better grasp of this character by discussing our varying experiences with punks irl. Thanks, dude! That actually helped me a lot.

This audio has speechless oh my goodness - The way you wove this story into such an intense and, eventually, sweet scene was impeccable! The rough, fiery beginning was exhilarating, and the emotional reveal of their how their "hatred" for each other came to be was spectacular! The swoon-worthy kissing was amazing as well - it fit these spicy character so well! And that sweet, rheart-stealing ending was a cherry on top! Thank you for another stellar performance, it was incredible to listen to!
You're always so kind! This script was one of the earliest ASMR audios I ever heard - that VA has taken down their channel now, but that audio stuck in my mind for a long time. The story is just so emotional, and I was kind of nervous to take my shot at it, but I'm very glad that you like it! Thank you for writing this script and all the other marvelous ones you've got out there, too!

This script has been circulating the nets for a while now, with better or worse executions. But combining its punk-ish, or goth-ish nature with Queen's persona, usually associated with majestic creatures of power - that's something else. You know, like combining two different foods, one could never expect to work together and ending up with a masterpiece.
It's a softlikestatic classic! I have so many of her old scripts saved. Ngl, hearing performances of her scripts on yt was part of my inspiration for doing this myself. I think everyone brings something different to a role, whether that role is Hamlet or a jealous punk at a party. I love that, because it means that even if my performance doesn't hit someone's personal preferences, there are lots of chances for other people to nail it for them, ya know? That, I think is the beauty of public scripts. I'm very happy to hear that in this case, you enjoyed what I did!
@@nightshadequeenasmr totally agree about different interpretations. It's like this dish (food analogy again, I must be getting hungry or something) everybody knows nationwide but almost every household prepares differently.
Got small request tho - got some trouble finding music used, even with titles and producers provided. Could You, maybe, by chance, provide direct links to them? Or a hint where should I visit?
The only place I know to find them is the Envato Elements stock media site, and when you listen there, you'll hear... what do they call it? Like a watermark, but it's a sound that plays periodically throughout the track. If you google Envato Elements, and then search their music tab for the titles of the songs, you should find them. CZcams unfortunately can be strict about links sometimes, and I'm not sure if it considers their site safe, so I didn't want to risk linking in the description.

And, yes - I'm quite familiar with audio equivalent of watermark. Other sites dealing with copyrighted audio material use them too.
Yeah, I figured you'd know what I mean. I just don't know if there's a word for that. 😝 But yeah, sorry, in this case I don't know of any way to listen to the music. Hmm, unless I made a video with the music and no voice and added visuals as the transformative element. Then you could listen on my channel. Hmm. I would have to look into that and what the license allows for.

Milder curses, all the time, though I try to avoid doing so around children or people online whose age I'm unsure of. Stronger ones, usually only when I'm really angry at something, and that's on purpose, because I like the idea that I have a word that immediately lets people know how strongly I feel. And it works - because people aren't used to hearing harsh language from me, they take notice when I do.
Yeah, I totally get that. I'm practically like that, too. Only when I get very upset when things don't go right. In my case, it's almost all the time. So I totally understand.

Not every character type is everyone's cup of tea, and I'd definitely drive myself mad if I tried to please everyone. Perfect people are boring - they just don't feel real. So I do try to portray individuals with flaws. If this sort of character flaw isn't to your taste, I certainly won't take offense if you choose to leave it to those it suits, no worries. 🩷 I'd never expect anyone to like every audio I create.
