Nightshade's notes: Fortescue is a writer I've known for a while, and I've been absolutely in love with the way they write mermaids interacting with humans. I may have been politely pestering them to write something along those lines in ASMR script form for... a good long while, really. And I am absolutely thrilled with the result! This poor, awkward mergirl, she's trying so hard, but she just keeps putting her foot... uh, no... her fin in her mouth.
Mermay made me realize that I've never yet done a mermaid, which is terrible because I happen to love them! So, technically, May is already over for some of you, but it's still May here as I'm posting it, so I'm calling that a Mermay success. XD I hope you all love this character as I do, my dear royal court and royal knights!

Ironically, it'd actually be the opposite 🤔. Whales used to be quadrupeds that walked on land, so whales would probably be mermaids with extra steps 😝.

She's realy sweet. I can "sea" why she's afraid of humans. After getting an ariel view while falling off a cliff, it's nice to wake up to another "Ariel" view.

It's really beautiful. And clearly, there's a possibility of a sequel for this because I highly doubt that the listener is going to forget about her so easily and looks for her again. Other than that, well done again, my queen.

9:50 Fun fact: humans also have gills at some point when we're in the womb 👀. They later turn into jaw bones/ear bones (sources don't 100% agree on what they become) 🤓.

Aw, I'm sorry. Thank you for the feedback. I tried to make it quiet and distant enough that it would mostly fade into the background as part of the soundscape. It's not very noticeable on my headphones, but I think most people use bass-boosting headphones? And some people are just more or less sensitive to certain sounds than others. This might just be one of my personal blind spots. Plus, I *am* deaf in one ear... but I've got my setup set to completely mono sound, so I can hear everything in my good ear, so that shouldn't be affecting it in this case. *quickly checks that nothing was accidentally panned to be louder in one ear* No, that part should be fine. Regardless, thank you, that is useful feedback! Seriously, good to know. And I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the rest of it. ❤️

Can you make me one of you? Let's just say, things weren't great for me as a Child. It's not hard to believe the Siren Tales, when the Giant Squid, and the Bloop Exist. It's scary, the Ocean is a scary place, when you realize almost everything has the intention to hurt you. The Water. Whoaaa.... Am I going to need stitches? That's how we heal cuts.
