He was lucky to grow up in italy and have the ability to see cultures. When he came to States for his last yr of School. He turned into a snotnosed diva. His first NBA allStar game he shrugged of Hall of famer who came ro set him a pick. Then he lost the ball going 1 on 1. Ran off Shaq cause he was MVP IN 2 FINALS. Was more worried about him being Jordan. Plus first 2 titles were only cause Kings giving the 6 7 game to lakers at home. Then Portland doing same next year. Look at Kobe stats in Pistons 4-1 finals. Took at least 30 shots a game. Shot 38%. Turned the ball over 30 times with 19 assists. Shaq still avg 26pts kobe 22. I get that your city likes their players. He was not only selfish he was snooty.
@Shawn. Thanks for the best and most honest analysis of Kobe that I ever read. He was a punk who missed out on being the GOAT because he is as so arrogant and selfish.

Kobe will always be my GOAT 🐐 His mentality, determination, and drive was unrivaled. RIP Kobe
His mentality was selfish and cost his teams multiple titles. The biggest media myth in sports history.
@@keithjoseph128 Michael Jordan had the same mentality but later on trusted In his teammates. I could argue Kobe went through that phase but in those last two championships Kobe learned to trust and make his teammates better
@@Mugen____ no, that's ALL media made. Jordan averaged 8 apg one season before he got a roster to start winning with, and that's not an inflated stat. Kobe never understood how to utilize his teammates and he showed that to end. Don't be that media puppet.
@@keithjoseph128 Interesting take, but yet we will never know how many were lost, yet we do know how many were won. Five championship is unfathomable to so many players that retire with none. The NBA is littered with so many Hall of Famers that won zero championships, yet so many NBA players that rode the bench and got rings. Think about that for a second. Those bench players had nothing to do with the game, but be lucky enough to be on the same team as the world champions. Another point his selfishness, as you call it, was THE driving force for the win. If Kobe hadn't left every single ounce of him on the floor, do you really think they would have won? Anyway, people hate because they will never have that determination, skill, nor glory.
@@coolerheadsprevail9312 so facts are hate now? And yes, we DO know, we seen it first hand. Of course they still would have won if he's utilized his teammates better. You don't think he would have been more efficient with even just a sliver of a better shot selection? Especially in the clutch? You're literally getting insecure about another man's flaws. That's quite sad.
Kobe still here in spirit. That’s why he a legend 👑

A couple of years ago i was at work when i found out. At TARGET. I watched customers that were adults with phones step to the side in silence and puzzled expressions. I myself was stuck between tearing up and just ignoring while my shift ended. ... about an hour later as i heard people break more details out loud and speculate, i clock out, walk home, and the moment i walk in my house i zoom to my room and sit on my bed as i turned the tv on... I basically coughed suddenly into tears and people 31 year old me wept like a child. ... I cried every day 5 days straight when id be eating watching espn or news. Unavoidable ... and man when I watched THE GOAT cry as he told us about his relationship with Kobe, I wept one last time. JORDAN, KOBE, KAREEM, and THEN whomever... just have Magic and Shaq in the top 10.

The more I watch these Kobe vids the more certain I am, it doesn't help that every highlight is Kobe making a move to set Diesel up for the dunk. I remember every crucial moment, Frobe was the one making the play. The D was effed... defend low, #8 is one/one out on the perimeter, defend high, #34 is dunking all night.
We miss you Kobe. Lakers 4 life!
Kobe Bryant. ......
my Man.
Kobe and I are the same age and graduated from high school the same year and, the cool thing about all that, I lived and grew up in Los Angeles so to watch him come to LA and be able to see him regularly from the very start of his career, in hindsight, was awesome! I often wondered how much different his career would have been had he been in a situation with a coach like Phil Jackson from the start who didn’t have any pressure to perform or was never on the hot seat with the Lakers. That allowed him to truly coach Kobe properly without having to worry about the pressure of winning now or getting fired. He was able to be patient with Kobe. Del Harris, in his defense though, was under so much pressure to win immediately when Kobe arrived, especially with the addition of Shaquille O’Neal that same summer, that he seemed to coach like he was torn between letting Jones and Van Exel play and carry the load because he HAD to win and/or letting Kobe get in there no matter what and have that chance to learn while playing. I think that’s stress on Del Harris is what kept Kobe from developing more during his rookie season with all the up-and-down playing time which, in my opinion, is why he was so tired in his legs in the playoffs, especially in that series versus the Jazz. That’s why he had that rough playoffs against the Jazz leading to all those airballs at the end and then slowly developing over those first four years before Phil Jackson arrived. Any other young rookie would not have been able to deal with Dell Harris’ up and down decision making with his playing time, but Kobe Bryant was mature enough to deal with it and to grow and to take his opportunities and he developed well despite Del Harris being on the hot seat. That says a lot about the young man’s character!
Great job on this video, bro. Loved it!
Great comment! I agree that his career could have been totally different had he not had to deal with Dell Harris from the beginning, but at the same time I saw several interviews where Kobe said those first couple years were the lowest point of his career and motivated him even up until he retired. Everything happens for a reason and I think those first couple years were the spark he needed to achieve greatness! I'm glad you enjoyed the documentary and I appreciate your comment!
@@TriceOfficial Honestly Eddie Jones should've came off the bench in Kobe's rookie season. His rookie season per 36 minutes he averaged 17.6 PPG 4.3 RPG 3.0 APG 1.6 SPG. 0.8 BPG

Kobe’s death hit me harder than anyone outside of family surpassing Steve Irwin. I still can’t accept it. Kobe was my mentor I owe much of my success to the “Mamba Mentality” he taught me. I was ashamed of being; arrogant, demanding, stubborn, masculine but Kobe and Conor Mcgreggor made me accept those traits and own it. Now I’m the more successful than I ever thought I could be. I will always see Kobe as a mentor not a basketball player.

People forget that Blazers team was stacked, that crossover on Pip and then the lob to Shaq was a defining moment for Kobe and Shaq.
That Blazers team was ridiculous. Very underrated.
AI said it best. When he and others were out at the club Kobe was in the practice facility working on his skills. That is what set him apart. The guy studied all the great players that came before him and tried all their moves and style and adapted and used what he felt was best for him throwing out the things that he felt wouldn't work or give him an advantage. It's really like Bruce Lee's Jeet Kun Do style of learning how to fight. Kobe then worked everyday non stop. Then he began studying the great current players in the league he would be facing but also the new players in his draft class that he would soon be going up against. The man had a razor sharp focus and really utilized everything he had skill wise and left everything he had to give on that NBA court. Rest in Paradise Kobe.

That's 🔥!!!
I can't believe everyone talks about who's the greatest between MJ23 and LBJ23, and not mention KB24. It's just ridiculous how Kobe isn't brought into the conversation what so ever. Kobe is a far better player than Lebron, by far. Even though Kobe isn't here, he will always be better than Lebron. Kobe did so much for the game.
RIP KB24🙏🏾
LA has a big hole without you mamba thanks for the memories mamba out 😢you meant that 😢R.I.p.
This is such masterful story telling. Instant follow. Had me glued to my phone the whole time. I loved that you avoided using milestones as a story plot and went straight to an actual story to tell. I never grew up watching kobe before 08 so I had no real sense of his dominance other than highlights. But the way you captured the realism of the moment is perfect. I appreciate this very much.
