  • In my last video, I spoke about a few ways I make money online. My most profitable stream is through print on demand sites like Redbubble, Society6, and Teepublic. Since Redbubble has made me the most money, I decided to film a video about how to start an account on the site, how to upload your first picture, and lots of other tips and tricks! I hope this inspires you to start your own shop, and add another passive income stream into your life! I'm happy to answer any other questions you guys have about Redbubble in the comments below :)

    Hello! I am clumsily trying to start a shop with my daughter. She is a budding artist at just six! I came across Redbubble while looking for ways to showcase my husbands art and thought, what a neat idea! So I decided to practice with art my daughter has done. And it didn’t look too bad so I collaborated with my daughter and we decided to have her art on here and I try to design and use the extra money for a trip to Disney. I’m a stay at home mom and my husband is a day laborer. I am enjoying it very much, but I am, as my daughter calls me a “noob”! Lol. Thank you so much for the videos I have watched of your Redbubble tutorials! I’m going to start back at the beginning and follow all your steps! I don’t think we will accomplish much toward our Disney fund but my husband is very talented so I’d like to see if I can eventually segway into that area more. Thank you again! From Bell@ and mom.

    @Alexandra Strambu Thanks for sharing this video, Alexandra :-) Just one question/observation: I see you enlarging a picture from about 1500 pixels to 9000 pixels and leaving the DPI at 72. Now, I don't know if you just did that as an upload example, but blowing up fairly low-res pics make for a very unsharp result when printed. 9000 pixels are good for most products on RB, but the DPI needs to be at 300, the original pic should already be high-res and saved with a CMYK color profile. Then change it back to RGB, before you upload it as a PNG.
    You probably already know all that, but it'll maybe a little bit of help for your viewers ;-)

      How do you start with a high resolution photo to start with? I have some great photos I'd love to use but they have low pixels and I don't want to stretch them

    • @NeoOnyx
      @NeoOnyx Před 3 lety +8

      @@jadez7802 If the original is a certain size, enlarging it will always produce a less crisp image. If you only want to enlarge it a little bit, in Photoshop there's a setting (when you resize the image) called Bicubic. That only diminishes the pixelation slightly, but maybe just enough. You can basically start with a high resolution photo if the photo was taken in high resolution. I, myself, have lots of interesting photo's that I wish were taken at a higher resolution, but they are not. Blowing them up to a 9000 x 9000 px image would only blur it and will not be a good image to put on a print on demand product. The only way to use a lower resolution image for POD is to put it on smaller products, like stickers etc. or if you make a pattern of it.

    I like Redbubble (before I saw you on CZcams). I set up an account and I have created 3 graphic design images (uploaded 2 of them and one ready to be uploaded). The takeaway for this video is the 9,000 px by 9,000 px which I didn't know and it would have been trial and error. Thank you, Alexandra. I also created a video to promote my image indirectly on how to use the product I am offering. I figured this was a bonus and a good way to promote without selling until the end of the video.

      It's because she scales them up so much. The more you scale up, the lower the image quality gets - the resolution decreases. Redbubble actually explicitly states that they do NOT want artists to scale up images because costumers may return the product if they are not satisfied with the low quality of the print

    Thank you so much, Alexandra. Could you please share with us what pixel dimensions you use? I have download a couple of pictures, but apparently, the dimension was too small.

    Thank you for this! I have been doing research about the best print-on-demand website to put my energy to, and this video was very helpful! My biggest challenge is to understand how to generate traffic to my store, I would like to work with a platform that could help in this sense because I am not an expert in marketing and Adwords (And I would prefer to invest my energy on making aart) :D thank you again

    Nice! I see you set your dimensions to 9000 x 9000 but notice that you didn’t change the resolution do you usually keep yours at 72?

    Hi Alexandra - Great tutorial for getting started on Redbubble, one of the very best that I have seen. A quick question for you: Can I go ahead and set up an account and start uploading images but not making my store available to the public until I get at least 10 - 20 images or so uploaded? I would hate to have my store go online with only a few images shown? Keep up the great work. -Michael
