      Randa Ali , she dips into the mikvah only after seven clean days pass. She can only start counting the seven clean days after she is shure that there is no more bleeding. Some types of blood that are due to injury are not counted as Nidah blood. In cases like this we consult scholars for guidance.

    Leviticus 15 seems to suggest to me that menstruating women aren't supposed to touch dishes and furniture or they would make it impure. I have also heard of rabbis avoiding food cooked by women especially when menstruating.
    These laws only apply when there is a temple? How do we know they don't alway apply?

    • @blessedishashemtheg-dofisr7397
      @blessedishashemtheg-dofisr7397  Před 2 lety

      Yes as far as contamination by menstruation, these laws apply only when there is a temple. Bar as far as intercourse, these apply always. How do we know that contamination only applies when there is a temple? The Torah does not forbid us to become contaminated by menstruating women, by a dead corpse, by a dead animal, etc. The Torah only tells us that we are to purify ourselves if we happen to be contaminated before walking into the temple. However, Cohen (descendants of David) and Nazarites are not allowed to get contaminated by a human corpse even now a days.

    • @stevenv6463
      @stevenv6463 Před 2 lety

      @@blessedishashemtheg-dofisr7397 Interesting, thank you for your response. So I guess there is no need for regular people to maintain temple levels of purity without a temple, but why should Cohens keep this level of purity? Is it because of their particular duties like accepting the kapporet/ransom of the first born and leading the special prayer in the synagogue? Or maybe it is about being ready for the temple to come at any time and showing the desire for ending the exile at all times?
      Also I thought Nazirite vows aren't allowed without a temple either?
