Slash is damn good.Its not always technique its about feel.
John Head not to mention his technique is amazing! He’s the full guitar player package now, he’s evolved so much since the 80s I’m glad he was never complacent at one level of playing
Slash isn’t the fastest or most technically proficient, but is one of the best “feel” guitarists ever. I think he is definitely top ten rock guitar players.

Slash feat. Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators is an actual band. They have released 3 albums. Slash made a solo album with different t singers on each song but had Myles sing 2 songs on that album. When he wanted to go on tour he asked Myles to join his band because he could sing everybody else's songs as well as the Guns N' Roses songs.
Myles is the lead singer of a band called Alter Bridge that you would probably enjoy.

Slash is more emotional guitar player not technically. Definitely a legend in my books i love his style so so much
One of the things that's actually amazing is that his long solos is that there are certain parts that are improvised. He has his direction but has the ability to veer off course and still find a path back, if that makes any sense. One of the greats for sure and one of the only rock stars you can recognize from his silhouette.

Slash is one of the BEST guitarists out there. And Myles, man he is so overlooked, he's just a walking bag of Talent, not only can he play guitar well (Slash even said Myles is more of a technical guitarist) but he can sing, can go higher than Freddie Mercury and lower than Elvis. They are both legends
The lead singer is Myles Kennedy and NO he does NOT sound like Axl Rose at all! I love Guns but Myles Kennedy has an incredible voice. Myles is also the singer for ALTER BRIDGE which I've asked you to react to before. ALTER BRIDGE is an extremely talented band with Myles Kennedy (vocals/guitar) and former Creed members Mark Tremonti (guitar/vocals), Brian Marshall (bass) and Scott "Flip" Phillips (drums). They have new music out also and a new album Walk The Sky, coming out Oct 18th & start their world tour in September. I'd love for you to react to ALTER BRIDGE as well please! Might I suggest "Blackbird" live in Amsterdam 2008 first. It's their anthem if you will. Then I'd suggest "Isolation" or "Cry of Achilles" next.
But back to SMKC! They actually have several albums & were just on a world tour for their newest album Living The Dream!
But I would just like to stress that Myles Kennedy DOES NOT sound anything like Axl Rose. And I'm not dissing Axl...in his day, he had an amazing voice, but Myles is an extreme talent. Not only is he a phenomenal singer...but he is one hell of a guitarist as well.
So with all of that being said... LoL...my next SMKC request for you to check out would be "Not For Me" live from this same show. Great fuckin song!

I can see that you are a big fan as well. My favorite band over the last 15 years. Thanks for requesting the Amsterdam version of Blackbird. I never understand why other fans are always requesting the Wembley performance. It drives me insane and those people are usually patrons or have the person's ears so that one gets reacted to. Haha.

I love that whole show! It's my go to for sure! Alter Bridge is by far my favorite band. They make nothing but great music! And I'll keep requesting it! Lol! I honestly can't understand why they are not bigger in the states! These people are surely missing out on greatness!

@@shera1789 Couldn't agree more. I have never figured it out either but for some reason the people in Europe have been able to figure out how awesome they are. No band since Queensryche had been able to capture my attention and keep it for the long haul. The music and lyrics are so powerful and evoke such emotion. ABIII helped get me through the toughest time in my life and will forever hold a special place in my heart. I have the Amsterdam dvd as well as the Wembley dvd but Myles was sick and had just finished touring with Slash so his voice was fried when they played that Wembley show. He couldn't sing 2 days before but he pushed through and didn't want to cancel that show. You have to respect him for that.
Of course I also have the live at Royal Albert Hall feat. The Parallax Orchestra DVD and it is simply breathtaking. Probably my favorite because it has songs from all of the albums on it.
Ironically my favorite football team is the Eagles so it is cool that you are going to the Philly show. Haha.

Slash is in my top ten. If put him at around the fifth or sixth spot. The solo in this song is amazing. He builds it slow and at the hight of it both hands are moving so fast you can't see his fingers but for a blur. As for Myles Kennedy. On the first solo album slash did he used lots of different vocalists including Myles on two tracks. They found that they had good chemistry and Slash had used him almost exclusively since. Myles fronts the band Alter Bridge and had put out some solo stuff. Its convenient if not imperative that he can sing like Axel because slash had a whole catalog of G n R songs the fans like me want to hear when we see them live. You should do some Alter Bridge, they rock too

Ranking Slash is very hard, because IMO unlike many other Guitar Gods, he improved with time and his peaks were never insane.
There are people who at their prime was probably better, but very few kept it all together and kept getting better like Slash for such a long time. This is actually the cleanest ive heard Slash in years

Slash is always recognizable. Top 10 is subjective but if you rank favorite solos his are always up there. He manages to put such emotion and feeling in them. Someone always argues that this guitarist or another is so much more technical or better and I listen and yes they're great but then I continue to listen to Slash! One of the few that can bring me to tears!

Dude, that was fuckin dope!!! Slash and his band have put together 3 amazing albums with this line up. Slash should be a top ten rock and roll guitar god for what he consistantly plays, what he improvs on a show to shiw basis and if you listen to the entire catalog, IMO him and Myles Kennedy write some of the best rock and roll thats been put out over the last 10 years. Slah has amazing music writing skills. If you like rock there is no way you cant find great songs on every album. Cant wait to see what they put out next but for now....bring on Alter Bridge
I'm not exactly sure where Slash falls. Some love him, some hate him. I don't think he's ever really tried to be an extreme shredder, like some. His music always has an undertone of blues to it. He has some solo stuff (he writes/plays, and gets other to sing), and he was also in a band called Velvet Revolver, with Duff McKagen (Bassist for GnR), Matt Sorum (Drummer for GnR), Scott Weiland (Singer for Stone Temple Pilots), and Dave Kushner (a second guitarist). That line up, had some great songs.
As I have heard many people explain Slash: "He doesn't talk very much, but he talks through his guitar. He pretty much lives, eats, breathes, playing guitar".
Myles Kennedy, is actually a rhythm guitar player, for a band called Alter Bridge. On his off time, he sings for Slash.
Top 3 for sure.

Sounds like you need a pair of proper headphones so your ears don't start ringing. You'll probably also enjoy the extra fidelity and audio detail, especially considering how often you listen to music and that you have a channel that revolves around it.
Slash is a great guitarist, but his genius is not in being a technical player but in a master improviser and feel player. He just lives in the music. What you might not know is the Myles Kennedy (the lead singer) is also a brilliant guitar player, probably one of the most overlooked guitar players in the industry because his talent with the guitar is overshadowed by his vocal talent (Imo he's the best living rock vocalist). He's kind of an all-rounder. Started off playing jazz fusion and now plays co lead guitar in his band Alter Bridge. His bandmate Mark Tremonti does the technical speed playing and Kennedy is more about the feel and the emotion, he's a technically brilliant player too though and has even taught Slash a few techiques. He can shred with the best of them but it's not a skill he shows off that often bevause he prefers a blues approach to playing. What he does is less showy but it's really beautiful and tasteful work.

Slash is top 20 all time easy, but in many ways most at that level are perspective and taste. For me personally Slash is top 3 and Anastasia is maybe the greatest guitar song ever to me. By the Sword another great Slash song. Also check out Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits another Legendary song that is often over looked. Stranglehold by Ted Nugent, and Soothsayer by Buckethead. All Epic songs for guitars.
Not in my Top 10 but he is one the current best feel players making music today. I didn't care about the G+R do it for the cash tour but I've seen this band 3 times on all albums and it's an amazing show. Myles is amazing and the rest of the band writes as well and they are tight. They alternate which band or project is active but build time for this into all their schedules, which is more common now than say 20 years ago.

When GNR broke up, Slash did 2 solo albums as Slash's Snakepit and then he went on with I think another 3 albums as Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. All his solo work is just good rock and roll.
Actually, as far as ex-GNR members go they have all had good solo stuff. Duff, Izzy Stradlin, and Slash have put out some good work. Duff's stuff I'd argue is the most metal sounding of the stuff and Izzy and Slash is closer to blues rock but still hard.

Slash is a really talented musician/guitarist, he had a def sound of his town, style, & technique. Considering when he came on the scene, he’s def considered one of, if not the best, out of the 80’s, although his career has never really stopped.. he also was the guitarist in the band, Velvet Revovler, which featured Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots) & they had a few big hits... but he’s got work in progress. I def dont think this vocalist could touch Axl in his prime. I saw GnR with Metallica & when Axl threw a tantrum, i was surrounded by angry guys moshing & got my nose broken by an angry elbow to the face (I’m 4’10!) ... ah, memories..

Well when ranking guitarists it’s NOT just about technical skill. Hell I know people who have more skills that Vai & Eddie Van Halen. But what makes a GREAT LEGENDARY guitarist is ofcourse some technical skill but also the riffs he creates and the songs he helps write. That’s why to me Slash is the greatest. Bc to me Guns N’ Roses is the greatest rock band of all-time. But when you look at Riffs and the memorable BEAUTIFUL EMOTION filled solos nobody’s better. His solos on November Rain are so beautiful. His solos on Estranged, The Garden, Don’t Cry, Coma are personally my favorites. His The Godfather Solo is so cool. I dunno man- the dude is a Legend pure and simple. He’s always in the Top 10 when ranking rock guitarists. Many times in the Top 5. The dude has played for everyone, Michael Jackson, B.B King, etc. To me the Top 3 in no particular order are Hendrix, Slash & Page.
Slash is awesome, especially because he writes all the music, not just plays it. I really think the generation you grew up in and the style of music you like weighs heavily on your top guitarists of all time... That being ssid at 6:29 of this video we enter planet Slash.

It's hard to compare certain guitarists. Slash is very much a rock and roll/ blues based style and sound. Other guitarists like Steve Vai or Devin Townsend are much more metal based. They all excel at their craft and the style of music they play. I have always hated rating musicians. It is so incredibly subjective. There are some amazing players out there and I like a lot of them for a lot of different reasons.
I know that sounds rather simplistic and juvenile but what difference does it make if so and so is better than so and so? Is the music any good? Well that's all I care about.

imo, slash would be like number 11. like hes very close to being great. i feel like i could name 10 guitarists that are better. a little bit overrated imo but not horrible for sure
i respect and love what Slash does but his solo work is just him surrounding himself with great musicians and he really does not do much.
Except write amazing songs....smfh
