I'm a fan of Slash since he was with Guns n' Roses. To me he's the best guitar player. I know, there are faster and technically better ones, but I 'feel' Slash's solos the most and that's the most important thing to me. I love this performance.
I agree he might not be the most technically proficient guitarist out there but i havent heard many guitarists who can convey as much expression through their instrument as him except maybe david Gilmore of pink floyd
Slash is a riff master and is all about tone and attitude. He has a way of choosing the right notes to play to create an amazing mood and feel to about every song he plays. This is missing from so many guitarists. They just play etudes over and over. Impressive technical ability but no soul.
slash is up there as the best, i mean hes not as technical as people like joe satriani or steve vai, but hes still a top guitar player of all time

9:09 The type of electric guitar he's using doesn't have a floating bridge / whammy bar, so he compensates by pushing the string behind the nut for that effect. Essentially it stretches the string tighter and it makes a higher note when he pushes it down, and when he stops pushing, it goes back to the regular tune.

Myles Kennedy is a bonafide musical genius. Incredible, vocalist amd songwriter and he's actually a killer guitarist too. Slash even took some lessons from Myles. Check out Alter Bridge.

Slash is top 20 all time easy, but in many ways most at that level are perspective and taste. For me personally Slash is top 3 and Anastasia is maybe the greatest guitar song ever to me.

This Man Slash and this particular song was the reason why I picked up the guitar 4 years ago. I saw this particular video on my recommendation, and suddenly there's something on my head saying that "I wanted to be like him". And I tell you man, it took me years to learn this fucking song on the guitar and still can't play it the way he plays it on every concert. It will take an eternity to match Slash's musicality. This is still my favorite song from the day I heard it up until now.

Slash is good on the guitar but Mark Tremonti is the GOAT!!!He's the lead guitarist of Alter Bridge. Myles Keneddy is the vocalist of the band.Myles also plays guitar and does solos as well.start with cry of Achilles by alter bridge. You will be mind blown
True, I suppose I see them as soo different in their approaches to guitar its hard to compare them. Mark is more of a metal/thrash metal shredder and Slash is more blues influenced.

I am playing Guitar for 20 Years and i tried this... but i failed :D Sry for bad English ^^ But Slash is really a God and its hard to play like him... i cant do this
It is a pretty tricky riff for sure. If you don’t know the sequence or Aeolian phrasings, it can be quite an ass to learn.
